ŞEHBA – Young women in Şehba organized a festival under the slogan “Jin Jiyan Azadî Serbixe Azadî” on the 27th anniversary of Şehîd Zîlan’s Fedaî action. It is the third consecutive festival organized in memory of Şehîd Zîlan at Camp Berxwedan.
The diverse program began with a minute’s silence in memory of those who died in the revolution. The spokeswoman for Yekitiya Jinên Ciwan, Rim Dede, then gave a speech and welcomed the participants. During the speech, congratulations were also given on the Feast of Sacrifice that is currently being celebrated in north-eastern Syria and by the Islamic religious community in general, and the importance of this festival was pointed out.
In particular, in memory of Şehîd Zîlan, all Şehîds who fell through their sacrifices were commemorated. During the festival, groups of young women performed traditional dances, sang songs in Arabic and Kurdish, and read poems in different languages. There was also a play performed by young women. One dance group in particular attracted the attention of the participants, who performed a dance in guerrilla clothing, thus showing their connection with the guerrilla in the resistance areas. At the end of the dance, images of Fedaî-Şehîds were held up by the group, such as the image of Şehîd Sema, Şehîd Avesta, Şehîd Viyan Soran and others.
