The city of Mêrdîn is an ancient city that has been a homeland for the Kurdish people for thousands of years and where Kurdishness has taken root. It has been the place where the Kurdish people lived from Mitanni to Medes and from Medes to the present day. Our people of Mêrdîn, who live the awareness of Kurdishness, language and culture very vividly, have always set an example in their commitment to their social identity and country. With the emergence of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, the people of Mêrdîn, who set their hearts on the Apoist movement, became patriotic early. The fire of resistance, lit by pioneering valiants such as our immortal comrade Ferhat Kurtay, has reached this day. Every part of the Mêrdîn region has turned into a place of resistance. With its mountains, plains and settlements from Çemê Şikestûn to Tûrcel, from Bagok to Nisêbîn, historical epics of resistance have been lived and written. The people of Mêrdîn, who have risen to the serhildans since the 1990s with their noble patriotic feelings and resistance character, became the name of the patriotism that set an example for the whole Kurdistan. The noble patriotism of the people of Mêrdîn has taken thousands of valiant men and women into the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle.
One of the noble sons of our patriotic Mêrdîn people brought to our struggle was our comrade Brave Azad. Our brave comrade was born in a patriotic family in a village of Shemrex in 1978. Our brave comrade studied up to primary school. But for economic reasons, he started working as a worker at a young age. He worked hard at a young age, became acquainted with the phenomenon of labor, and worked in many jobs, from cooking to technical studies. Although our brave comrade works in the metropolises of Turkey and far from the lands of his birth, he has taken a stance against all kinds of cultural assimilation of the metropolises that swallows people and takes them out of their core. He did not lose the natural society characteristics he acquired from his village, did not lose his essence, and chose a life that grew on his own roots. The approaches of the fascist Turkish nation-state system that despise the Kurds while working in the metropolises of Turkey, He personally experienced his policies that ignore Kurdishness and the exploitation of the labor of all the oppressed, especially the Kurds. He never digested the injustices and injustices he witnessed. Brave comrade rebelled against the ignorance of his social identity and the exploitation of his labor and went on a quest. As a result of these searches, he turned his face to the mountains of Kurdistan in the spring of 2003 and joined the guerrilla ranks.
Our brave comrade, who joined the guerrilla life with great ambition and will, became a popular guerrilla among his comrades early on, with his mature personality, curiosity and initiative. He didn’t mind that he hadn’t studied much in enemy schools and started to improve himself by becoming a good student of the revolution school. He learned the party ideology from Rêber Apo himself, pondered and concentrated in order to understand it deeply. Comrade Brave, who joined our movement in 2003 when the treacherous liquidationist tendency was imposed, saw that the best way to learn is to learn the Leader from the Leader, and embraced Rêber Apo’s personality analyzes and defenses. He always aimed to create in himself a great power of meaning and thought, striving on this basis, and therefore he neither experienced the sway nor deviated from the Apoist line on any day. concise, sincere, Brave Comrade, an enterprising and hardworking guerrilla, attracted the attention of his comrades with his steady level of development. Our brave comrade, who stood out with his hard work in every field and work he stayed from Zap to Garê, stayed with the comrades in the organization’s management and participated in their work. Comrade Cesur, who wanted to increase the level and pace of his participation in the struggle, joined Hêzên Taybet in order to continue the revolution march in a self-sacrificing manner. Our comrade, who successfully completed his training in the fight against the guerrilla, became involved in the science-technical work of the guerrilla. Establishing the infrastructure of scientific-technical studies, which is an important dimension of Democratic Modernity Guerrillaism, making progress in these studies, accelerating them, improving the domination of the guerrilla’s war technique and developing new inventions were the main goals of our brave comrade. Brave comrade has never been a revolutionary who used up opportunities, he always focused on adding value to the created values and enlarging the struggle. He aimed to make every work solid, to make it as functional as its durability and to beautify it by paying attention to its aesthetics. On this basis, he was focused on the purpose day and night, working at a high tempo, almost as if he were a worshiper. Our brave comrade has become a monument of continuous and stable revolutionism by experiencing the great excitement of producing, creating the new and putting it at the service of our struggle.
Under the command of Comrade Fazıl Botan, one of the legendary commanders of our guerrilla struggle, he sought to put technique at his service by discussing it personally, benefiting from his views and tactical experience. For years, he made great contributions to the guerrilla struggle by turning these pursuits into products without getting tired of and producing any justification. Brave comrade turned the revolutionary dream he raised in a workshop into products, and with the products he created, the weapon on his comrades’ shoulders and the war technique in his hand were in Zap, Avaşîn, Xakurkê and Bakur every day. Embodying Rêber Apo’s phrase “the greatest technique is human” in his person, Comrade Brave put forward a skillful practice that surpassed the masters, with the scientific knowledge that left behind the technicians and engineers who had graduated from university, despite the fact that he did not read much, with the creativity that made inventors jealous.
Brave comrade became a pioneer and exemplary commander with his consistency in the Party criteria, his rejection-acceptance criteria, his dominance of organizational life in every environment, and his establishment of military order and discipline. He saw himself responsible for the development of his comrades, made an effort, listened to his comrades with great humility, discussed, educated them with effective comprehension and rich ways and methods. Comrade Cesur, who has a fluid personality, never included the concepts of “cannot, cannot be” in his revolutionary life. With the strength and inspiration he got from the Apoist ideology, he was always able to find a solution, develop and create inventions. With his multi-dimensional monolithic revolution, he joined and struggled unreservedly.
