“The year 2017, which represents an important turning point in our history of struggle, was a year in which a selfless resistance was experienced against the invaders in every sense, and the Apoist will dominated all areas of resistance. This year, the genocidal Turkish state used all its might to liquidate our people in the person of our freedom movement, and for this purpose, it has developed its attacks more than ever before. Our comrades Diyana, Sema, Zîlan, Argeş and Gabar, who are among the outstanding examples of Apoist sacrifice, pioneered the resistance developed in the areas they were in against these attacks of the enemy. These valuable militants, whom all their comrades took as an example with their struggle, went down in our history as the most sincere and honest defenders of the PKK-PAJK line, in which our martyrs find meaning.
We extend our condolences to all patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially to the esteemed families of our comrades Diyana, Sema, Zîlan, Argeş and Gabar, who brought tactical innovations to our guerrilla struggle at the expense of their lives.

The ancient people of Kurdistan have developed strong social ties in the lands they have lived in for thousands of years and pioneered the greatest human revolution that has shaped history, were separated from each other by the colonial powers with artificial borders and faced the most brutal attacks in history. Despite all the attacks, our people, who did not give up their passion for a free life, resisted the occupation and the invaders in the mountains of Kurdistan, the center of resistance. Our patriotic people of Kurdistan, who are fighting to protect their existence under the genocide attacks, met with our party PKK, which developed under the leadership of Rêber Apo, with the line of resistance and victory. The freedom march that our leadership created with a lot of effort and developed with our people by overcoming every seemingly insurmountable obstacle one by one, became popular in a short time, and the developing resistance was crowned with serhildans. The hope of freedom, which re-emerged and developed with Rêber Apo, created a great panic among the colonialists. The invaders, who think that they have poured concrete on the concepts of Kurd and Kurdistan and destroyed the free Kurdish identity forever, wanted to destroy our rising struggle with the most brutal attacks in the history of humanity. The invaders, who massacred thousands of our people and burned down countless settlements, aimed to strangle the invincible Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla by meeting with the people by forcibly forcing our patriotic people in the ancient lands of Kurdistan. Despite all the attacks, our people, who were resurrected by the PKK, continued their struggle without compromising their honorable and free life line and turned every area they went into a center of resistance. The invaders, who think that they have poured concrete on the concepts of Kurd and Kurdistan and destroyed the free Kurdish identity forever, wanted to destroy our rising struggle with the most brutal attacks in the history of humanity. Our comrade Diyana, who was born into a patriotic family that had to migrate to Adana from the metropolises of the Republic of Turkey, had to grow up far from Kurdistan, with longing for the country in her heart, like many other Kurdish youth. The patriotic culture and consciousness of his family and the environment he lived in brought about our comrade Diyana’s growth intertwined with the reality of the country and the struggle, despite being far from the ancient lands of Kurdistan. Our comrade, who knew Rêber Apo, our party PKK and the historical guerrilla resistance from an early age, also witnessed the attacks of the colonialist Turkish state closely. Our comrade, who has never remained unanswered in the face of the attacks of assimilation, denial and destruction, and who believes that there must be resistance against the dirty policies targeting the Kurdish youth, has decided to join the ranks of the struggle. She felt a great burden on her shoulders in the face of the International Conspiracy, which aimed to destroy the hope of freedom of all the oppressed, in the person of Rêber Apo, whose brother was martyred in the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle in 1999 and brought our people from the brink of extinction. Our comrade, who did not compromise his resistance in this process, continued his struggle with great determination. As a self-sacrificing woman armed with the will of freedom despite the most difficult conditions, she knew how to protect our Leadership, our Party and the values created by our immortal martyrs. She responded to the needs of the period by taking a leading role in many different fields and studies throughout her struggle life and did not hesitate to shoulder the necessary responsibilities.
From Xinêrê to Qendil, from Zap to Garê, from Metîna to Avaşîn, our comrade Diyana, who has been practicing in every field where the resistance continues and marching on the line of victory by commanding his comrades, has become an exemplary militant who fights along the lines of the PKK and PAJK in every field he is in. . At a time when our people were brought to the brink of extinction and every Kurdish individual was made ashamed to even call himself a Kurd, our struggle for freedom, led by Rêber Apo and our party PKK, was born like a sun on the holy lands of Kurdistan and brought these fertile lands back to life. This spirit of freedom, which emerged in a process when the genocidal Turkish state believed that it had won a victory against our people, spread throughout Kurdistan, especially in Bakure Kurdistan, and our people flowed into the resistance areas with the great enthusiasm of being able to exist again, and became one of the main bearers of our struggle for freedom. The wind of freedom unleashed under the leadership of our heroic martyrs has spread throughout Bakure Kurdistan; Our people in Botan, Amed and Serhed embraced our struggle with great sacrifices.
The city of Muş in Serhed, one of the areas where our struggle was effective early and was met by our people, has also met our struggle since the beginning of the 90’s and wanted to turn their hopes for freedom into reality by recruiting their most valiant sons into the ranks of the guerrilla. For this reason, he did not hesitate to make any sacrifices and took the risk of paying any price for the victory of our freedom struggle. Vartînîs village of Tîl district of Mûş also met our struggle especially in 1993, and many young people from Vartînîs joined the struggle within this year. The fact that our people took an honorable stance by turning to our party, the PKK, deeply shook the genocidal Turkish state. The genocidal Turkish state, which could not digest this honorable resistance of our people, once revealed its murderous face and calculated that it would prevent our people from fighting by killing our innocent people. By brutally murdering 9 patriotic people, including pregnant women and children, in the village of Vartînîs on October 3, 1993, it was aimed to punish our people and alienate our people from our struggle for freedom.
Our comrade Sema, who was born in Vartînîs to a patriotic family that adheres to Kurdish traditions, has faced the reality of this massacre from an early age, and has known the enemy with this murderous mentality. For this reason, she always saw the guerrilla as a savior and determined it as the only goal she wanted to achieve. Although our comrade Sema had to move away from Kurdistan due to her family’s migration to Istanbul due to the intense pressure of the enemy, she has always managed to stay connected to the lands she was born and the values that created her. The joining of some of her close relatives and her brother Mahir-Mehmet Zakir Taş to the guerrilla ranks in 1997 deeply affected our comrade Sema. The fact that her older brother joined the guerrilla, whom she used to admire, caused our comrade Sema to attribute sanctity to the guerrilla. It has caused her to evaluate it as a dream, purpose and truth that needs to be reached and realized. Our comrade Sema spent the rest of her life to realize this dream, became more committed to this goal as she grew older. Our comrade Sema intensified even more, especially the enemy’s continuing massacres against our people, the martyrdoms in the ranks of the freedom struggle, and our people’s devotion to freedom with great hope. Her devotion to her purpose, sincerity and her self-consciousness away from all kinds of dirt of the system have been the basis for our comrade Sema to experience a great breakthrough, and she has been in search of flapping her wings to freedom on this ground. Our comrade Sema, who spent the rest of her life to realize this dream, became more committed to this goal as she grew older.
Comrade Mahir-Mehmet Zakir Taş’s death by freezing during the enemy operation in Kelareş area in 2007, brought forward the request of our comrade Sema to join the guerrilla ranks, but she could not fulfill this request due to her father’s death and the family’s financial difficulties. But she never felt weak in her commitment to her purpose, she just waited for the right time. Our comrade Sema, who considered herself responsible for every moment of her life, has done her best to overcome the difficulties her family is experiencing, and has tried to fulfill her responsibilities towards her family with the support she has given both financially and morally. At the same time, by working in many different jobs, she managed to stand on her own feet as a woman and contributed to her family’s livelihood. Comrade Sema saw that she was exposed to labor exploitation twice, both as a woman and as a worker, during the processes she worked in, has also increased in this direction. She has struggled for this, as a woman she has never bowed to the practices of the existing system. Now, due to her national problems as well as her identity as a woman and a worker, her conflicts with the existing system have increased, she thought that it was time to join the ranks of the PKK, which she saw as the best place to overcome these contradictions and fight for it.
Our comrade Sema, who decided to join the guerrilla ranks by leaving her university and teaching profession in 2013, has always experienced the sadness of not being able to join sooner, although she has made great progress in her guerrilla life with great excitement, enthusiasm and enthusiasm. For this, she devoted every moment of her life to the struggle, learned what she needed to learn about guerrilla life and warfare in a short time, and participated in the pioneering mission as a YJA Star guerrilla. From the very beginning of her guerrilla life, she was assigned to critical works with the trust he gave to his comrades. Our comrade Sema developed herself ideologically day by day and wanted to create revolutions in her personality at every moment in her struggle to reach a free woman identity, By reflecting this to her life, she succeeded in becoming an integrated PAJK militant. For this, she started working on the press, which has an ideological side, and has been a free press worker and the voice of his comrades at the YJA Star Press Center for about 2 years.
Our comrade Sema carried out press work in the Cîlo area in 2015-2016, one of the years when our freedom war against the invaders was at its peak in our history of struggle, has had a unique effort and effort in recording the effective actions developed here and sharing them with our people and the public. Our comrade Sema has shown the love of comrade in her heart, the smile of each of her comrades, by recording the reality of the struggle and by making it belong to our people, and as a shareholder in their immortalization. Her unwavering devotion to the reality of Rêber Apo and martyrs, and especially the martyrdom of many of her comrades whose struggle she witnessed, caused our comrade Sema to question the pace and form of struggle. Fight more effectively Our comrade Sema, who received training in the branch of sabotage with the belief that she will carry out rich and effective execution, completed her training in a short time thanks to her sharp intelligence and moved to the Zagros, where she previously worked as an expert saboteur. Our comrade Sema, who started her practice with the belief and self-confidence that she can inflict heavy blows on the enemy in her specialty, has worked hard in the preparation and development of many actions.
Our comrade Sema, who, with her unwavering participation, aroused the desire to fight more in each of her comrades with whom she fought and mobilized them, besides being a natural pioneer, she also became a commander who duly fulfilled his duty in our freedom struggle by taking on the task of team commander. Our comrade Zîlan was born in the city of Bayburt as a child of a family from Derîm who belonged to the Abdalan tribe. Our comrade Zîlan studied successfully as an intelligent and hardworking young man and won Tekirdağ University. As a woman, she also worked as a worker to stand on her own feet and live with her own power, and she recognized the phenomenon of labor. Our comrade Zîlan, who grew up knowing and experiencing the life she grew up in, grew up far from her country Kurdistan, but was curious about his social roots and wanted to reach there. Our comrade Zîlan, who went on a quest, became close, established close relations with the Kurdish and patriotic students he knew in the university environment, and started to get to know herself. In this way, she got to know the Kurdistan Freedom Movement and the relentless struggle and researched it with interest. She saw the feature of the Apoist ideology that led people to their roots and essence, enabling them to recognize themselves and exiting from there, and on this basis, her interest and curiosity increased. As she got to know Rêber Apo’s ideology, philosophy, his leadership of the Kurdish people and especially his struggle for women’s freedom, she found the answer to her search and preferred Apoism. Although she was involved in patriotic youth work for a while, she left the university in her second year and turned her face to the mountains of Kurdistan on February 15, 2014, on the anniversary of the February 15, 1999 plot, which was turned into the International Conspiracy and the Kurdish genocide day, and decided to become an Apoist revolutionary. As she got to know her philosophy, her leadership of the Kurdish people, and especially her struggle for women’s freedom, she found the answer to her quests and preferred Apoism, and decided to become an Apoist revolutionary.
Comrade Zîlan, who made a right start by joining the ranks of the PKK on a very meaningful day, saw that Rêber Apo was not an ordinary person, but a Leadership that embodied the identity, will and free future of a people in his personality. She joined this cause of freedom with great gratitude and devotion, especially when she saw that Rêber Apo spent his whole life fighting in a marathon for women, Kurdish people and all oppressed peoples and is still in great resistance in Imrali.
Comrade Zîlan joined the PKK ranks with high consciousness and great faith, was deeply affected by the comradeship she witnessed in the guerrilla ranks. She stated that the PKK comradeship meant an honorable life for her, and that mountain life meant struggle. She stated that by joining the PKK, she moved away from the selfish-individualist personality of capitalist modernity and moved towards a new sociality, a free individual, on the basis of communal values. On the basis of this development, she determined an identity for herself, took the name Zîlan Dêrsîm, decided to carry her Dêrsîm identity with great honor and to become a free and self-sacrificing woman like Zîlan (Zeynep Kınacı). She has been a guerrilla for two years in the field of Metîna, has gained great experience, is a Kurdish woman from the mountains and is integrated with the mountains.
Our comrade Zîlan decided to accelerate the march of revolution as a militant who constantly improves herself, bringed the supreme human virtues to her personality, became liberated by enlightening her consciousness, and becomes more beautiful as she becomes free. She gets the chance to be involved in the organization of the Fedayeen, Hêzên Taybet, in order to make big breakthroughs and to do justice to the name Zîlan Dêrsîm. Hêzên Taybet earns the love and respect of her comrades with her self-sacrifice, comradeship, incalculable participation, measured comradeship, stance that deepens in the line of women’s freedom and embodies them in her personality as she deepens. As a Dêrsîm resident, she joined the struggle for freedom with greater love and desire as he remembers the enemy’s atrocities against the people of Dêrsîm, the genocidal attacks, and her growing up far from her own lands. Step by step, the goal of Zîlan, which she set before her, she tries to do it with effort and patience. Our comrade Zîlan died very early in the unfortunate attack of the enemy, while she had a bright future ahead of her, a free life, and much more he could do for her people and country.

Our comrade Argeş was born in Erdîş district of Wan, in a valuable family that was patriotic, participated in the freedom struggle and had martyrs. Thanks to these characteristics of his family and relatives, he started to know our Party from an early age. Our comrade Argeş, who saw the guerrilla groups going to their villages, was impressed by the stance, war and majesty of the guerrilla. For this reason, he took an interest in the guerrilla from an early age and made it the goal he wanted to reach. Our comrade Argeş, who studied at the system schools for 12 years, worked as a shepherd in the village in the remaining time and helped his family livelihood. Our comrade, who grew up with the characteristics of natural society in the village environment, has also become a loved one around him with his working personality. Comrade Argeş, thanks to his sensitivity towards his environment, the attacks of the enemy against our people, was able to analyze the policies of genocide. Our comrade, who knows that it is necessary to fight against these tendencies and pressures of the enemy, has started to search on this basis. Our comrade Argeş, who witnessed the fascist attitudes and approaches of the enemy towards our people in the Turkish metropolises he visited for a while, returned to Kurdistan and decided to join the ranks of the struggle.
Our comrade Argeş, who turned his face to the mountains of Kurdistan in 2014, joined the guerrilla ranks from the Serhed area. After staying in the Bakure Kurdistan area for a few days, he moved to the Medya Defense Zones. He was impressed by the life of the guerrillas he saw along the way, their comradeship and the value they gave to people; He realizes that he made the right decision. Our comrade Argeş, who moved to the Xakûrkê area after the road process where he opened the door to an exciting and new life, received his first training in the guerrilla here. Our comrade Argeş, who adapted to the mountain and guerrilla life in a short time with the education he received, has improved himself moment by moment thanks to his open-minded character. Our comrade Argeş, who is trying to apply what he understands in life, has created important transformations in his personality thanks to the Party culture he has acquired.
Our comrade Argeş, who started to lead his comrades with his participation in the training process, continued this level of participation in the practical fields he went later. For this reason, she has managed to leave a mark on each of her comrades with whom she lived. Our comrade Argeş, who was involved in practical work in the field of Xakûrkê, where he started his guerrilla activities, became involved in practical work in a short time with his lively, warm-blooded and assertive participation. Our comrade Argeş, who made it one of his biggest dreams to organize an action in response to the attacks of the enemy against our people, has found the opportunity to realize this dream with the concentration he has experienced and the professional guerrilla style he has achieved. Our comrade, who aims to become a holistic Apoist militant by clinching his achievements in the military field with ideological competence, constantly read, shared what he understood from these readings with his comrades, and prioritized development with his comrades. Our comrade Gabar was born in Wan, the resistance center of Serhed, in a family belonging to the patriotic Birûkî tribe. Since his family has Kurdish culture and traditions and he became patriotic with the national awareness that emerged with our Party, he has heard and sympathized with our struggle for freedom since he was very young. Our comrade Gabar, who had the opportunity to get to know our party PKK better while he was studying at the sociology department at the university, stayed here for a while. In this process, he got to know our Party more closely, and his sympathy turned into a conscious loyalty. Although he very much wanted to turn this commitment into a professional revolution, he started working after university due to the financial difficulties of his family. Thus, he fulfilled his duties and responsibilities towards his family and became a loved and respected person in this sense. But the love of the PKK, which penetrated his heart, caused our comrade Gabar to continue his search and concentration, while working on the one hand, he wanted to be an answer to our people’s demands for freedom. As an honorable Kurdish youth, he came to the conclusion that there should be a response to the ISIS attacks, especially in Rojava and Shengal areas, and chose to fight in the ranks of freedom by rejecting the comfortable living habits offered to him.
Our comrade Gabar, who sees the freedom and honorable life of our people above everything, is ready to make all kinds of sacrifices for this. Our comrade, who received his first education in the guerrilla ranks in the field of Xakurkê, realized that nothing was taught in the system schools, but only courses that served the enemy’s assimilation and genocide policies, thanks to the PKK education he received despite graduating from university. For this reason, our comrade Gabar, who questions all he knows, has started to learn again as he started a new life. With the trainings he received, he brought the reality of Kurds and Kurdistan, and the genocidal policy of the enemy towards our people, to greater awareness. As our party became more conscious, its commitment to the PKK increased, and it became aware of the fact that our Party is an indispensable blessing for our people. For this, he participated in the works with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm, and did not accept any measure for himself other than success. Comrade Gabar, who was involved in practical work in the field of Xakûrkê, where he joined the guerrilla, became a competent guerrilla in a short time with his enthusiastic and willing participation.
