During this operation, we shared with our people and the public that our comrade Zagros Serêkaniyê died in the bombardments on 22 June, and our comrades Zana and Berxwedan, who carried out the actions that dealt heavy blows to the enemy and punished at least 2 invaders on June 23, were martyred in the intense bombardments.
The Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, which dealt major blows to the colonialist Turkish state’s genocidal policy by transforming the zap area into an area of resistance, showed once again that it insists on protecting the existence of our people and creating a free country at all costs. We extend our condolences to all our patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially to the valuable families of our esteemed comrades Zana and Berxwedan, who led with their sacrifices and unmatched efforts in this historical resistance process, and our comrades Zagros, the self-sacrificing militant of the Arab people.

Our comrade Zana was born in Nisêbîn as a member of a family originally from Merdîn Kerboran. Due to the patriotic character of his family and their devotion to our struggle for freedom, our comrade Zana has also known our party PKK from an early age. Although the level of recognition of our party was mostly at the level of sensation and name until his youth, our Leader’s captivity in 1999 had a great impact on our comrade Zana. The reaction of our people against our Leader’s captivity, the actions he carried out, and the creation of a fiery circle around our Leader are ingrained in the child’s heart of our Comrade Zana, and our people’s devotion to Rêber Apo has always been the main factor that motivates him.
Living in an area like Nisêbîn, where our struggle is most effective, made it possible for our party to see and understand the spirit of freedom unleashed by the PKK, and also enabled him to witness the enemy attacks that took place for this reason. For this reason, our comrade Zana, as an honorable Kurdish youth, has also been involved in the work to respond to enemy attacks and to create the spirit of freedom that has emerged in himself. Since it is located in the middle of our country, which was divided into four parts by the invaders and where artificial borders were drawn between them, it connected these four parts. Again, our Botan people, with their deep patriotism, have fully fulfilled their duties by embracing those who fought for freedom on behalf of our people. Our Botan people, trying to protect their language, culture and physical existence with the tribal form against all kinds of attacks of the enemy, succeeded in transcending the tribal form with the development of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle. The tribes in Botan believed in the resistance movement that developed under the leadership of our party PKK, He did not hesitate to send his most valiant and brave sons to the ranks of freedom. Boti tribe, one of the valuable tribes of Botan, has been with our Party since the beginning of our struggle, did not compromise their patriotism against all attacks of the enemy and insisted on a free life.
Our Berxwedan comrade was also born in a patriotic family belonging to such a valuable tribe in Sirnex. Our comrade Berxwedan was also brought up with the ancient Botan culture and the freedom values revealed by our party PKK, as his family, tribe and the environment he lived in were patriotic and devoted to the values that created them. He grew up listening to the heroic epics of the guerrilla who fought for freedom for our people from his family and surroundings. Therefore, when he grew up and reached his youth, he joined the ranks of the struggle without hesitation. Our comrade Berxwedan, stating that he joined the ranks of the struggle as a response to the intense pressure of the enemy on our people and our Leader, also believed that the PKK is the only force that will liberate our people. With the PKK’s struggle, Stating that he proved himself for the freedom of our people with the price he paid, our comrade Berxwedan stated that he wanted to fight in the ranks of the PKK as a patriotic and honorable Kurdish youth. Like hundreds of honorable Kurdish youth, our comrade Berxwedan, who wanted to defend our people, went to Rojava in 2015, received his first training there and took his place in the ranks of the resistance. Despite not having sufficient military experience, our comrade, who took part in the resistance positions with great will and determination, stood out with his courage from the very beginning of his combat life. Our comrade Berxwedan, who defended our people with great sacrifice and effort at the height of the ISIS gang attacks, later moved to the Shengal area to participate in the revolutionary moves launched for the liberation of Shengal. Since 2018, the invading Turkish state has been openly attacking every place where our people’s gains, especially Rojava, has been the reason for our comrade Berxwedan to enlarge his struggle. He believed that this would be possible by joining the guerrilla ranks, which was his childhood dream, and on this basis he turned his face to the mountains of Kurdistan. The family of our comrade Zagros, who realized early on that the gangs wanted to turn the peoples living in Rojava against each other, decided to fight against these gangs together with other peoples, especially the Kurdish people with whom he lived for years. For this reason, they had many participations in the resistance ranks during the early stages of the Rojava Freedom Revolution.

Later, when ISIS gangs started massacres against our peoples, they wanted to continue their struggle more actively and took their place in the resistance units.
