BEHDINAN – PKK Executive Committee made a written statement on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Diyar Xerîb (Helmet), a member of the PKK Central Committee and KCK General Presidency Council, who was martyred as a result of the Turkish state’s airstrike on Qandil on June 26, 2019.
PKK Executive Committee statement stated the following:
“We lost Comrade Helmet (Diyar Xerib), a member of the PKK Central Committee and the KCK General Presidency Council, in an air attack by the AKP-MHP fascist dictatorship on Qandil on June 26, 2019. It has been four years since the martyrdom of Comrade Helmet. During these four years, the Movement and the people We tried to follow in the footsteps of Comrade Helmet and achieve his goal. We took revenge for Comrade Helmet by inflicting heavy blows on AKP-MHP fascism. On this basis and on the fourth anniversary of his martyrdom, Comrade Helmet, the valiant son of our people of Bashurê Kurdistan and valuable militant of our party, commemorates with respect, love and gratitude; We reiterate our promise to keep it alive.
HE WAS A GREAT PATRIOT REVOLUTIONARY
As known; Comrade Helmet was a great patriot and revolutionary raised by our people of Bashure Kurdistan. In his younger years, the collaborator, who was an extension of the colonial-genocidal system, took a stand for betrayal and joined the PKK and went to Leader Apo to receive leadership training. He became the representative of Kurdish national unity and Kurdish patriotism in Bashure Kurdistan. Freedom and democracy of Bashure Kurdistan against all attacks of Saddam Regime and Turkish fascism; He fought for Kurdish national unity. Because of this, it became the target of colonialists and collaborator betrayal.
DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITY AT ALL LEVELS
Comrade Helmet carried out revolutionary-patriotic work in all four parts of Kurdistan, especially in Bashure Kurdistan. He took part in all kinds of work, especially guerrilla, and assumed duties and responsibilities at all levels. He was a member of the KCK General Presidency Council at the time of his martyrdom and was a member of the PKK Central Committee. He became the owner of the maximum effort to successfully carry out each task. He always walked in the line of the Leadership and the martyrs. He was a popular personality; He worked tirelessly for the education of the Kurdish people. He especially made great efforts to research and reveal Kurdish history and attached great importance to the education of Kurdish youth. The traces and creations of his labor still live on our struggle.
THEY KILLED TOGETHER
Comrade Helmet murdered AKP-MHP fascist-genocide and Kurdish collaborator traitors together. In this way, Tayyip Erdoğan and the Devlet Bahçeli administration tried to avenge the local election defeat they experienced. He wanted to destroy the leadership of the resistance that would develop in the Bashur people and youth against the invasion attacks. Collaborative betrayal tried to prevent the development of a liberal democratic alternative in Bashure Kurdistan by murdering Comrade Helmet.
GUERILLA DID NOT PASS
However, all these efforts and wishes were frustrated on the basis of the guerrilla-led resistance in the Medya Defense Zones. The martyrdom of Comrade Helmet provided a more accurate and deeper understanding of all these facts by our Movement and our people, especially our people of Bashure Kurdistan. The heroic guerrilla resistance that developed in every area from Heftanîn to Xakurkê did not let the fascist-genocidal occupation pass. In Bashurê Kurdistan, the thread of collaborative betrayal has been exposed as if it were on the market and has shrunk. The national unity and true patriotic line of Comrade Helmet gradually became understood and adopted by all Bashur people.
WE WILL SUCCESS IN THIS LINE
We are now entering the 5th year of this despicable massacre. It is very clear that; As the movement and the people, we will understand the line of Comrade Helmet much better and we will achieve our duties and responsibilities more strongly along this line. Undoubtedly, fascist-genocidal forces and collaborative betrayal will attack more and try to invade ?Bashurê Kurdistan more. It is already trying to increase its attacks day by day. We, too, are resisting all these brutal attacks in the line of Comrade Helmet and under the leadership of the guerrilla, and we will resist much stronger and more effectively in the 5th year. In memory of Comrade Helmet, we will make the lands of Bashure Kurdistan a graveyard for fascist-genocide and collaborative betrayal.
STRONG ACCOUNTING
On this basis, we salute the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla who heroically resisted in the Medya Defense Zones to prevent the invasion of Southern Kurdistan. We congratulate the guerrilla, all the commanders and fighters of HPG and YJA-Star for their successful actions in Botan, Metina and Xakurkê and wish them continued success. We commemorate all our heroic martyrs with respect and gratitude in the person of comrades Asya, Azad and Koçer, the immortal bodyguards of Xakurkê. We condemn the massacre carried out by Tayyip Erdoğan and the People’s Alliance fascist administration against the democratic administration of Qamishlo, we commemorate the martyrs of the massacre with respect, and salute the resistance of the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria against fascism.
Comrade Helmet is one of the martyrs of our June sacrifice month. 30 June Fedailik There is little time left to our day.
