“Our party PKK, which is the name of our people’s hope for freedom against occupation and colonialism, has saved our people from the brink of extinction, resurrected them, and made them passionate about freedom with its half-century struggle for freedom. In this epic struggle, tens of thousands of martyrs were lost and our people reached the reality of fighting people. From Rojava to Rojhilat, from Bashur to Bakure Kurdistan, our people have always stood up and embraced our struggle with an unwavering bond. Our people, who sent their most precious sons to the ranks of the struggle, made the greatest sacrifices with the awareness that freedom is not free.
Our comrades Zîlan, Roj, Baz, Jêhat and Alîşêr, as the most valuable sons of our people, took their places in the ranks of the struggle with great will and determination, and did not hesitate to fight in every field our people needed. These comrades, who have made a great effort to save our people from the grip of genocide with their struggle on the line of Fedai, remained faithful to the PKK’s tradition of resistance until their last breath.
Our comrades Zîlan, Roj, Baz, Jêhat and Alîşêr were martyred in the attack that took place in the Çemankê area of the Garê region on April 29, 2019, based on the notification of local collaborative agents and their cooperation with the enemy. As followers of our comrades, we promise that we will hold the enemy and betrayers accountable for this, avenge our martyrs and not leave their blood on the ground.
With these feelings, we express our condolences to the esteemed families of our martyred comrades and all our patriotic people of Kurdistan, and reiterate our commitment to their memory.

The ancient people of Kurdistan, dying under the assimilation, denial and annihilation attacks of the colonial states, were separated from each other by artificial borders and divided into four parts; Her will and identity have been brought to the brink of becoming the way. She has been turned into a refugee in the lands he has lived in for thousands of years and has been reduced to a position of self-denial. At a time when all hopes are facing extinction and there is no trace of struggle, our party PKK, led by Rêber Apo, has re-discovered the Kurdish identity covered with concrete. Rêber Apo’s freedom march, which created a people from its ashes and brought it to the center of the war and turned it into a people’s reality intertwined with fierce struggle, was embraced with great enthusiasm by our patriotic people, spreading in waves all over Kurdistan. Our people in Rojava, one of the areas that recognized the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle early, have been great supporters and followers of Leader Apo’s freedom march, who went to Rojava in 1979. The “Arab Belt” project, implemented by the Baath regime on June 24, 1974, aimed to destroy the unity of the Kurdish people, who were separated from each other by artificial borders, and to eliminate their existence, and tens of thousands of Kurds were displaced from their ancient lands. Our people of Rojava, who managed to preserve their essence by not giving up resistance despite all attacks, denial and destruction policies, took their resistance to the next level with our struggle under the leadership of Leader Apo. The tradition of resistance created by the PKK had a great impact on our people in Rojava, as it did in all of Kurdistan, and thousands of Kurdish youth, men and women, joined the ranks of the struggle. He became a great supporter and follower of Leader Apo’s freedom march, who went to Rojava in 1979. As a young Kurdish woman, our comrade was very excited about the re-creation of the identity of a free woman, who was ignored both in the system and in the society, through the PKK’s struggle, and she decided to actively participate in the struggle.
Participation in the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle and martyrdom from her family and close circle enabled our comrade Zîlan to integrate with the invincible spirit on which the PKK, the party of martyrs, is based. It was a turning point in our comrade’s life when he crossed into the mountains of Kurdistan in 2011 and met with the guerrilla life, which she was very curious about. Our comrade, who was deeply devoted to Leader Apo and his philosophy of life, is named after our comrade Martyr Zîlan (Zeynep Kınacı), who responded to the attack against our Leader on May 6, 1996 by sacrificing and dealt a heavy blow to the invaders. Comrade Zîlan, who built her revolutionary life on devotion to Leader Apo, the Ideology of Women’s Freedom and the line of martyrs, is based on a strong participation in the line of the martyrs. Our comrade, who joined the guerrilla life with great enthusiasm and morale, started his revolutionary struggle in the mountains of Kurdistan after completing his basic guerrilla training with great success. The most distinctive feature of our comrade is that he adapts to her environment with her sincere, honest and energetic nature and establishes strong bonds with her comrades. Our comrade, who meticulously handles the tasks he undertakes and always aims to deliver results, moved to the Xakurkê area, where he stayed for a long time and worked hard by participating in many studies, after the competence he gained in the ideological and military fields. Our comrade, who has been practicing in the field of Xakurkê for 4 years, has become competent in guerrilla tactics and a pioneering commander who carries the spirit of victory of the new era. Our comrade, who stood at the forefront and fought devotedly against the attacks of the colonial Turkish army, took part in many actions and dealt heavy blows to the invaders with her comrades. A valiant militant of the PKK and PAJK line, our comrade Zîlan took care of each of her comrades, saw herself responsible for their development, and focused on growing his comrades while improving herself. She has put forth a great effort for the victory of our revolutionary struggle with her style and high tempo, which participates in life along the Apoist line and produces solutions. Combining the strong Kurdistani social values he received from her patriotic family with the culture and morality of the PKK, our comrade Zîlan became one of our comrades who developed, pioneered and became a commander in a short time. Our comrade, who constantly concentrates on being a militant of the free women’s line developed by Rêber Apo and puts what he has learned into practice, has managed to become a worthy militant of the PKK and PAJK line throughout her revolutionary life.
She transferred to Mahsum Korkmaz Academy in 2018 to share her experiences with her new comrades and to deepen in the line of command in the new era and had a strong training process. Comrade Zîlan, who returned to work as a leading YJA Star militant and commander after the training process, took part in many studies within the Central Headquarters Command and knew how to successfully carry the responsibilities she assumed. Comrade Zîlan has been one of our comrades who have been shown as exemplary militants by all his comrades who knew him throughout his struggle life. Our comrade Zîlan, who achieved effective results by reflecting her devotion to Leader Apo and our martyrs in the works he carried out, became a worthy militant for our martyrs and our Leader. Our people of Rojava, who had to live under intense oppression by the colonial powers, whose language was forbidden and whose natural social characteristics were prevented from being freely reflected, managed to protect their essence by fighting against all these brutal attacks. Our comrade Roj, who was born into a patriotic family that knew the PKK, supported the fight with all its means, and participated in the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle after Rêber Apo moved to Rojava, grew up inheriting a culture of resistance from his precious family. The martyrdom of our comrades Bilind and Dijwar, who are relatives, in the guerrilla ranks, brought with it that our comrade Roj closely followed the freedom struggle of our people. Our comrade Roj, who was studying at the University of Arabic Language and Literature. In this process, Leader Apo, the architect of the Rojava Freedom Revolution, experienced deep concentrations to better understand his philosophy. Our comrade, who joined the ranks of the revolution as a resistance young Kurdish woman in the face of the attacks of ISIS mercenaries to massacre our people and destroy their hope for a free future, has made a strong contribution to the struggle to protect the existence and freedom of our people. Intervening in history and recreating the Kurdish people from their ashes, Rêber Apo created the reality of the people fighting in Kurdistan, in conditions where society and the individual were torn apart, the Kurdish people had to deny themselves and the colonialists were enforcing death laws. This struggle, which took half a century and was carried out out of breath, was developed for impossibilities by digging a well with a needle. The values created with the unforgettable efforts of our immortal martyrs and the blood shed drop by drop became the foundation of our struggle and an invincible tradition of resistance on the road to victory was created. Our city of Riha, which hosted the Hilvan-Siverek resistance, one of the first examples of the Revolutionary People’s War in Kurdistan, was the area where our Kurdistan Freedom Struggle, which developed under the leadership of Rêber Apo, first developed and became popular. Aiming to create a free life, society and individual in a public reality on which the policies of destruction and denial are brutally implemented, was undertaken by Rêber Apo as the most difficult but most honorable task in the world, and the historical requirements of this were fulfilled without hesitation. The PKK’s line of struggle was embraced with great enthusiasm by our patriotic people and transferred from generation to generation and the resurrection of our people was realized. Born to a patriotic family in Riha, Pirsus, the venue for this sacred freedom march, our comrade Baz grew up in our struggle by absorbing the PKK’s philosophy of life. On the one hand, he witnessed the honorable resistance of our people who resisted and marched to victory, on the other hand, he witnessed the brutal attacks of the colonialist Turkish state against our people, and got to know the reality of the enemy closely. Growing up in a working family trying to make a living in financial difficulties brought about our comrade’s early acquaintance with the concept of labor. Our comrade Baz, who went to Amed, the center of serhildan culture in Kurdistan, for his university education, started to get to know the Rêber Apo philosophy and the historical resistance of the PKK more closely during this process. Our comrade, who is studying at Dicle University, Department of Physics Education, became involved in youth work by reaching the determination to take an active part in our people’s struggle for a free future and a dignified life. Our comrade Baz, who made great efforts to raise the awareness of our people and the Kurdish youth, who is the future of our people, by walking around the street, pioneered a short period of time and played an active role in many works. He was repeatedly excused from detention by the invaders, but he responded to all these attacks by raising his struggle. In 2014, when the denial and destruction attacks against the Kurdish people intensified and the genocide was imposed on our people, our base comrade joined the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, which was the guarantee of a free future for our people, and carried its struggle to the ancient mountains of Kurdistan.

Our comrade Alîşêr, who rushed to the aid of our Êzidî people with his comrades in the face of the extermination attacks launched by the genocidal ISIS gangs against our Êzidî people, fought sacrificially against the invading gangs and gave a great effort in the war to save our people from genocide. After the freedom of our Êzidî people was achieved, they returned to the ancient mountains of Kurdistan with their comrades and took their place at the forefront of the historical resistance developed against the colonialist Turkish state.
Throughout his revolutionary life, our comrade Alîşêr, who participated in the struggle along the lines of the martyrs and with an endless energy, had an exemplary participation as the victory militant of Rêber Apo. The legacy of struggle left behind by our comrade Alîşêr will definitely be crowned with victory by us, the comrades left behind.”
