BEHDİNAN – HPG-BİM made a written statement and said, “Our comrade Kawa Ararat, the valiant son of Serhed, was martyred in the Xakûrkê area in 2015, one of the most intense periods of enemy attacks. Our comrade Kawa, who participated in the freedom struggle of our people with unwavering faith, devotion and determination, has become a youth leader that all Kurdistan youth will take as an example. As a revolutionary youth from Serhed, our comrade Kawa, who equipped himself with Apoist militant features and was a pioneering militant, fought as an indomitable fighter of the line of martyrs in our freedom struggle, which he participated in.
HPG-BİM added, “We express our condolences to all our patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially his precious family, who brought a heroic revolutionary like our comrade Kawa to the freedom struggle of our people.”

“At the beginning of the 20th century, when our country’s reality was being denied and our people were being subjected to genocide, a historical resistance started in Çiyayê Agirî under the leadership of İhsan Nurî Pasha and Biroyê Heskê Têlî. This resistance movement, which spread to almost the entire Serhed area, kept our people’s hope for freedom fresh. Even though it knew that it could not make our people give up their passion for freedom with the massacres it carried out, the genocidal Turkish state again acted with the massacre weapon it knew best and massacred tens of thousands of our civilians, children and old people. With these massacres, the invading Turkish state has made the mistake of putting out the fire of freedom lit on the summits of Çiyayê Agirî and discouraging our people from their rightful cause. But the fire of freedom that was burning in the hearts of our people has never been extinguished, When the time came, the PKK continued to ignite again with its reality as a torch of freedom at the summits of Agirî and our country. The modern resistance led by our party PKK has also affected our people of Serhed, who never lost their hope for freedom, and our people of Serhed took their place in the ranks of the struggle with great excitement and passion from the very beginning of the struggle. Our people of Serhed, who added thousands of valuable children to the ranks of freedom with the growth and development of our struggle, tried to fulfill their patriotic duty. Our comrade Kawa was born in a patriotic family in Agirî, where such a popular reality and culture of resistance were influential. Although our party heard about the PKK and our struggle for freedom from an early age, due to the patriotic environment in which it lived, it could not find the opportunity to get to know it in depth. However, with the help of a close friend during his high school education, he started to get to know our Party better. In particular, the enemy’s private war lies to defame our Party became more conscious as he got to know the PKK. Our comrade Kawa, who started to understand the reality of the enemy better as he got to know our party and the freedom struggle he led, believed that this enemy can only be answered by fighting. Our comrade Kawa, who joined the guerrilla ranks from the Xakurkê area, received his first training in this area. Our comrade, who was unfamiliar with mountain life and joined life with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm despite growing up in cities, quickly adapted to mountain and guerrilla life. With the trainings he received, the Party and the Leadership began to better understand our reality, and once again brought to consciousness the helplessness of the enemy’s special war policies in the face of this truth. It has determined to deepen itself in the philosophy of Leadership as its primary goal, and for this purpose, it has trained itself in the axis of Leadership analysis and defenses. Our comrade Kawa, who has overcome the effects of the capitalist system on him with his educational studies, has come closer to freedom with each passing day. Again, due to joining the guerrilla ranks during a period when our freedom struggle against the invaders was at its peak, he quickly trained himself in guerrilla style and tactics, and with the support and experience he received from his comrades, he managed to become a competent guerrilla. Our comrade Kawa, who participated in the Şemzînan Revolutionary Operations led by our legendary commanders Reşid Serdar and Rojîn Gewda, won the appreciation of all his comrades for his laboring and self-sacrificing qualities during this move. Our comrade Kawa, who stands out with his participation, concentration and successful practice in the move process, took part in many different works in the following processes. He considered it his comradely duty and responsibility to share his experiences with his comrades who had just joined the guerrilla ranks and did his best in this sense.
Comrade Kawa, who practiced all his guerrilla practices in the Xakurkê area and had the opportunity to fight shoulder to shoulder with many of our esteemed comrades here, has become an Apoist militant that all his comrades take as an example with his unwavering participation, the value he places on comradeship, and his hardworking, self-sacrificing and humble personality.”
