“Our comrade Dîdar Tolhildan, one of the self-defeating commanders of the Girê Cûdî Resistance Area, where epic resistances emerged and the invaders were not allowed to pass, was martyred by heroically resisting the enemy attacks in May 2022. Our comrade Dîdar, who took charge in many areas of the Martyr Delîl West Zap region, where the historical resistance was knitted with great sacrifice and self-sacrifice, successfully carried out many tasks from training her comrades as a bodyguard to the construction of war tunnels, which became the fearful dream of the invaders. Our comrade Dîdar lived with the wisdom that the sacrifice is a way of life and spends every moment with the concentration of being worthy of her martyr comrades and our Leader, set an example for all her comrades as a pioneer PKK-PAJK militant.
We repeat once again the promise that we will wave the flag of struggle handed over to us by our comrade, with the awareness of being worthy of all our martyrs in his person.
The identity information of our comrade Dîdar Tolhildan is as follows:
Code Name: Dîdar Tolhildan Name Surname: Leyman Hesen Place of Birth: Hesekê Mother – Father Name: Nûra–Berzan Martyrdom Date and Place: May 2022/Zap |
Our comrade Dîdar Tolhildan was born in Hesekê, Rojavayê Kurdistan, in a family from the Gergerî tribe on the mother’s side and the Dekorî tribe on the father’s side. Our comrade Dîdar grew up in a patriotic family that was devoted to Rêber Apo and was a friend of the freedom movement. Comrade Rihan Amûdê (Leyman Şiwêş), one of the pioneers of the free women’s movement and the Rojava Freedom Revolution, not only affected thousands of people with her 35-year revolutionary struggle, but also deeply affected her own family. So much so that her name became a legend while she was still alive, new children born were named after her, and her struggle inspired young women. One of the children named after Comrade Rihan (Leyman) was our comrade Dîdar. Our comrade Dîdar got to know the struggle of her aunt Rihan, from whom she was named since childhood, and grew up living the reality of the freedom movement.
Our comrade Dîdar got to know Rêber Apo and our party the PKK very well, thanks to her mother’s succinct patriotism and efforts. Due to her family’s patriotic culture, she grew up standing on her own feet, away from social pressure, and studied until university with her intelligent and sociable character. While studying economics at the university, she decided to take part in the developing Rojava Freedom Revolution and joined the ranks of the revolution with the support of her family. Our comrade Dîdar, who took the name Hêzil Jîn in the Rojava Freedom Revolution, had a share in the formation of the YPG and later the establishment of the original army of Rojava women freedom fighters as the YPJ, and the YPJ’s being the women’s freedom force that proved itself in the war and inspired women all over the world.
Our comrade Dîdar was educated in military and ideological free women’s academies and specialized in assassination tactics. As an expert freedom fighter and female militant, she took part in assassination teams and battalions, and proved her maturity in the fight against ISIS with her high courage and fearlessness. Our comrade Dîdar participated in most of the military moves developed in North East Syria, from Afrin to Hesekê, and gained a great deal of experience in the war. With this experience, she trained her comrades on assassination tactics, took charge in academies, and pioneered by training hundreds of her comrades. She was injured in the attempts to liberate Shedadê in 2016 and Raqqa in 2017, but with an inexhaustible determination and desire for women’s freedom, she took her place in the war front and continued her struggle.
Our comrade Dîdar, who fought uninterruptedly in the Rojava Freedom Revolution from 2012 to 2019, sincerely believed that revolutionism is ingenuity and truth, and that the only antidote to capitalist modernity is revolutionism. She has always walked on the basis of this truth, was greatly impressed by the epic actions and marches of the Apoist Fedayeen that left a mark on history, and with the decision to become a bodyguard, she turned her face to the mountains and joined Hêzên Taybet. Our comrade Dîdar felt the reality of the free woman rising like the sun and the great effect of the magic formula “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” and took the stance of a free woman, who never belonged to anyone, as her guide. The incalculable participation in the environment of the Fedais, a succinct stance, principled comradeship, an approach that lives and sustains the Apoist militancy measures, military discipline. Her seriousness and her belief in the victory of guerrilla tactics made our comrade Dîdar a very different revolutionary and commander. Our comrade Dîdar, who walked without hesitation, proud of being a free woman with great courage and self-confidence, became a commander who always led her comrades, believing that no border drawn by the dominant male mind could prevent women. Our comrade Dîdar became a source of strength for her comrades with her smiling face, moral participation, sincere companionship and reassuring stance, and she won the great love and respect of all her comrades, men and women. As a commander, she dutifully fulfilled her pioneering duties. Our comrade Dîdar, who has always had great achievements and a steady march, never considered herself sufficient, never showed the personality traits that lost her by falling in love with the personality of capitalist modernity,
Our comrade Martyr Delîl, together with our comrade Martyr Delîl Zagros, took on the great responsibility of educating her comrades and making preparations for war in the Western Zap region. Our comrade Dîdar was one of the workers of the great success that emerged in the Martyr Delîl West Zap region, where the Turkish army brought and tried many different forces in the resistance of 2022, and where the most selected troops were withdrawn after a great defeat. Comrade Dîdar was one of the commanders who responded to the invading Turkish army’s expansion of the invasion operation by targeting the Martyr Delîl West Zap region on May 25, 2022, with expert guerrilla teams. It prevented the occupying army from positioning on our land as planned, disrupted the enemy’s plans and punished the invaders by inflicting heavy losses on the enemy.
The free Kurdish reality, resurrected by Rêber Apo with the spirit of freedom, became the 35-year freedom march, pioneering revolution and the truth of free women in the person of Rihan Amûdê (Leyman Şiwêş). While the epic march of the Rihans created the sacrifice commander Dîdars, the influence of the women’s liberation movement led by Kurdish women spread everywhere from the mountains to the plains, from the plains to the cities, and became the name of hope and freedom for all women of the world by chanting as “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî”. We commemorate with respect and gratitude the comrades Rihan Amûdê and Dîdar Tolhildan, to whom all the peoples of the Middle East and humanity, especially the Kurdish people, are indebted to them, and to whom they can live today thanks to their struggle that defeated ISIS and stopped the Turkish state fascism. We state that the exemplary struggle of the immortal pioneers of the free women’s movement and self-sacrificing revolutionaries will inspire all young people and women, and that our Revolutionary People’s War will grow even bigger and achieve victory thanks to these comrades. On this basis, we express our condolences to the precious family of our martyred comrades, to our people of Rojavayê Kurdistan and to all patriotic people of Kurdistan, whose hearts beat with the enthusiasm of revolution.”
