BEHDINAN – HPG Press Center said, “The invading Turkish army continues its attacks and operations against our forces in Bakur and Medya Defense Zones against the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla. In the last month, offensive operations in Amed have continued uninterrupted. As a result of these operations, 3 of our comrades were martyred in Amed province on 2 and 3 June. The Media Defense Areas it has been bombed 13 times with banned bombs, 28 times with warplanes, 4 times with attack helicopters and 226 times with howitzers and tanks in the last three days. The occupiers who took action in the Resistance Areas were stopped by intervening and 2 occupants were punished. At the same time, the occupation continues to destroy our resistance positions by attacking them with ladles.”
HPG also stated the following regarding the details of the attacks carried out by the Turkish army:
“A comprehensive operation was launched by the Turkish army in the Licê region of Amed on 2 June. As a result of the attacks and operation of the Turkish army, a group of our comrades came into contact with the enemy on 2 June and fierce clashes took place. Our comrades fought selflessly in the conflicts that lasted on the 2nd and 3rd of June. Three of our comrades were martyred in these clashes, and the identity information of our comrades Zîn Amed and Mahsum Herekol became clear. When the detailed identity information of our martyred comrade becomes clear, it will be shared with our patriotic people and the public.
We express our condolences to the valuable families of our martyred comrades and all the people of Kurdistan, who fought with great courage and self-sacrificing spirit against the colonialist genocidal Turkish army until their last breath. Our comrade Zîn was born in an honest, concise and patriotic Kurdish family in the Bismil district of Amed. Our comrade Zîn, who grew up in a patriotic family, was brought up by experiencing social morality, the characteristics of mother-goddess culture, the fact that women are the dominant element of sociality, and at the same time, seeing and experiencing all these in the person of his mother, on the basis of strong patriotism. She grew up as a self-aware young woman with the clean essence, strong morals and solid character she inherited from her mother and family. Our comrade Zîn studied for 14 years as an intelligent and hardworking young man, and graduated from Semsûr University with a degree in computer programming. Our comrade Zîn rejected this system, which does not recognize the free Kurdish identity and the reality of free women, rather than taking a place in the current system. Kurdish woman, It acted with the awareness that what will provide freedom to the Kurdish youth and the Kurdish people is the freedom struggle carried out on the basis of their own values. With this awareness and patriotic feelings, she took an active part in patriotic revolutionary youth work. Later, for 4 years, she took responsibility for the patriotic revolutionary youth in many Kurdistan cities from Amed to Êlih and carried out activities at a pioneering level. Comrade Zîn, one of the great Kurdish leaders, Şêx Seîd said, “My worldly life has come to an end. I do not regret that I was sacrificed for my nation. As long as our grandchildren don’t embarrass us in front of our enemies”, she has adopted the phrase ‘to herself. Having such a deep-rooted and concise historical consciousness, Comrade Zîn has always considered it a duty to fight against the genocidal colonial enemy.
Comrade Zîn stated that by enlarging the Rojava Freedom Revolution in 2014, it was necessary to stop the genocide and fascism on the Kurdish people, to contribute to their people in this way, and to fight more against the enemy’s policy of assimilation and evisceration on the Kurdish youth. She joined the guerrilla from Amed state in 2014 in order to fulfill the requirements of the facts she voiced. After joining, she witnessed the life of the guerrilla and was greatly influenced by the comradeship of the guerrilla, the high human virtues of the PKK, the environment created on the basis of freedom measures, and the noble life values of the PKK. Comrade Zin saw how the right decision was to join the life he witnessed in the guerrilla, and his heart was filled with indescribable joy.
Comrade Zîn received her first education in Zap, and for two years she carried out practical activities in the Geliyê Zap region of Zap, in an area intertwined with the enemy. In the winter of 2014-2015, Martyr Rojîn studied at the Gewda Operations School, which was founded on the basis of developing women’s guerrillaism, applying the tactics of free women’s guerrillaism more creatively and making victorious women’s guerrillaism a reality. Getting military training in a unique environment with her female comrades enabled our comrade Zîn to gain important experiences. With these experiences, guerrilla activities in the Geliyê Zap area in a place where opportunities are scarce, land is difficult and requiring great effort and will has improved itself considerably.
Comrade Zîn came to the forefront with her features as a laborer in practice, sincere in comradeship, enthusiastic participation in the struggle, courageous militarily and creative in tactics. In addition to these distinctive features, she has deepened her consciousness and broadened her horizons by concentrating on women’s history by trying to read and understand the ideology of women’s freedom and the Apoist paradigm. Comrade Zîn stated that she realized that the Apoist ideology had changed itself as much as mountains, and that it had liberated and developed tremendously. Because, thanks to the Apoist philosophy and the ideology of women’s freedom, she learned her language, culture, the cause of freedom, her own power as a woman, the painful but passionate history of the female sex.
Comrade Zîn was injured in an accident in 2016 and later moved to Yekîneyên Parastina Sîvîl (YPS). Our comrade Zîn, was able to join and strengthen YPS activities, organize the self-defense organization of our people, and make new tactical initiatives on the basis of the Revolutionary People’s War Strategy, has taken his place in these studies. With her devoted and strong participation, she took part in YPS studies, undertook important duties and responsibilities, and showed a performance that deserves these studies. While overcoming the obstacles and difficulties she encountered in practical activities with great will, she also took an attitude against the mistakes and inadequacies that emerged in the guerrilla life. Comrade Zîn expressed her views without hesitation in every environment on the basis of the truths he believed in and the truths of life, and gave great determination to raise the freedom struggle of our people.
Our comrade Zîn came into contact with the enemy operation that started on June 2 in the Lice region of Amed, and fought selflessly in the conflicts that lasted on June 2 and 3. She reached martyrdom by fighting with great courage and self-sacrificing spirit against the colonialist genocidal Turkish army until her last breath. Botan, which hosted the historical guerrilla resistance initiated under the leadership of our immortal commander Egîd (Mahsum Korkmaz), brought its strong resistance culture to the top with the emergence of our party PKK.
