NEWS CENTER – In a special on TV channel Medya Haber, PKK Executive Committee member Duran Kalkan stated that the forces that will lead the fight against AKP-MHP fascism should prepare and called on everyone to take their place in the anti-fascist, democratic to take resistance.
Kalkan emphasized that the struggle will become much more radical, saying:“We have to prepare accordingly. No one is allowed to make a mistake. Nobody should expect anything else from the AKP-MHP or the current alliance. Those who do will be wrong. Everyone should read the developments properly, prepare well and be organized. Let’s resist. We will definitely win. If the AKP had been defeated in the elections, a new, long political process would have developed. Now, with the AKP government, the chances are greater that a more radical anti-fascist democratic revolution will develop and succeed. The important thing is to develop this. We will endeavor to make this a reality. We invite all our friends to join us in our common struggle.”
PKK Executive Committee member Duran Kalkan assesses the situation as follows:
YOU CAN BE AN ENEMY, BUT THE ENEMY HAS LIMITATIONS
“First of all, I pay tribute to the historical İmralı Resistance and Rêber APO. They don’t call it isolation, but a state of absolute non-communication. In legal language, this means: It goes on. For 27 months we as a movement and as a society have not received any information from Rêber APO and the other comrades imprisoned there. Lawyers, politicians talk, rate our hevals. They explain that such isolation has never been used in world history. You recently explained that Nelson Mandela’s practice in South Africa, where it was most severe, was not the case either. We have a right. The right to information cannot be prevented. But this situation of non-communication and absolute isolation continues.
One can be an enemy, but enmity has a limit, a measure. There is even a law. There is such a thing as the law of war and the law of enmity. Let’s assume we can be enemies. But, for example, enemies are in contact with each other. They are in contact with each other. Because, beware, wars do not always end with one side finishing and destroying the other side, but there are compromises and agreements. These come about through communication and negotiations. They may see us as enemies. But this administration has made promises at the highest level, at the departmental level and even at the presidential level.
PROMISES TO ISOLATION WERE NOT KEEPED
One could say: Who can take the AKP at its word? What they eat is haram (in Islamic usage: forbidden, bad), what they say is a lie. Of course we can’t just say that now. This promise must be fulfilled. In this respect we keep saying that there is no law in İmralı. We say the isolation continues. And why? Because those who run the place have promised it won’t be like that. They neither fulfill the requirements of their laws nor keep their promises. Of course, they do not implement international judgments either. Not only in relation to İmralı, for example in the Kobanê case the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe decided to release former HDP co-chairs Figen Yüksekdağ and Selahattin Demirtaş and other detainees. Allegedly, Turkey is bound by European law. She recognizes it, but doesn’t apply it. Their approach of acknowledging nothing but their own politics continues. We have addressed these fabricated disciplinary sanctions before. For example, why were these penalties imposed? At one point they were said to have been imposed for speaking loudly… If there really is a penalty, there must be a reason for it. These reasons are not mentioned either. Because we know very well that anything that would require such a punishment cannot happen in İmralı. These are all things that act like camouflage. One aspect is the prevention of talks, the main aspect, which is more important, is that in the 25th year of the Imrali system, according to European law, the situation of Rêber APO must be discussed. The,
EUROPE CANNOT BE SILENT ON THIS SITUATION
Normally, according to the European legislation, the Turkish administration does not have the possibility to detain Rêber APO in İmralı. This was also determined by the lawyers. This has been emphasized again and again lately. We have often drawn attention to this. Because we learned European law, even if we had to read a bit. Learning the law, including the chairs of the accused, leads to deeper learning and better understanding. We have already said that these disciplinary sanctions serve this purpose. We said they should be highlighted. Now they are highlighted by many circles. It is absolutely necessary to insist. We must fight more against this attitude. lawyers, lawyers, politicians,
It can not go on like this. Europe must not remain silent. The European institutions, the CPT, the Council of Europe are partners in this injustice or what is happening in İmralı. That is why there is concrete criticism of it. That’s very clear. There isn’t much or no noise coming from there either.
THIS GOVERNMENT IS NOT THE GOVERNMENT OF THE KURDS
There was an election, now the People’s Alliance is in government. On the Aegean coast, on the Mediterranean coast. She couldn’t win in Marmara, she couldn’t win in Kurdistan, but let’s say she won in other places. Now they form the government. But the Kurds rejected both Tayyip Erdoğan and the People’s Alliance by more than 70 percent and up to 75 percent respectively. (…) The Green Left Party won there. With a majority of around 65 percent and in many cities over 70 percent. In others it reached 55-60 percent. Now Tayyip Erdoğan will form the government. The People’s Alliance will make the decisions in Parliament. The Kurds have rejected both. The Kurds have the decisions to be made by these two institutions, rejected. This is not binding for the Kurds. They are not the government of the Kurds. I would like to say the following: If such a situation were not in Kurdistan, but in another part of the world, in another society, now in Europe and other places, these states, politicians, those who are human rights defenders call, make an outcry. They would say that this government cannot rule. Because she refused, she couldn’t win. But now nobody gives a peep. Let’s be careful, it’s as if such an outcome did not happen. For example, the Kurds have rejected the new government in Turkey that was formed after the current elections. The choices, who they will meet will be anti-Kurdish, they will be in a state of war. They will do everything to destroy the Kurds. Everyone knows that, but they say nothing. This is the situation in İmralı. So much lawlessness, injustice, everything happens in İmralı. But they don’t make a sound. And why? Because there is the Kurdish will, the Kurdish will to freedom. All of this is linked to dealing with Kurdish society, with the Kurdish genocide. And why? Because there is the Kurdish will, the Kurdish will to freedom. All of this is linked to dealing with Kurdish society, with the Kurdish genocide. And why? Because there is the Kurdish will, the Kurdish will to freedom. All of this is linked to dealing with Kurdish society, with the Kurdish genocide.
THE MAIN INSTALLATION OF THE KURDISH GENOCIDE IS THE IMRALI ISOLATION SYSTEM
The main institution of the Kurdish genocide is the İmralı torture and isolation system. It has existed for 25 years. Before that, there were similar institutions in different forms. In the last century people were hanged in four parts of Kurdistan. We know these places well.
This is the current situation. That’s why no one makes a sound. It is necessary to uncover this. Of course we have to go further. In this sense, we must develop both legal and political struggles.
The struggle is important and on this basis the struggle will continue in all areas. I salute all struggles against İmralı torture and isolation system for Rêber APO physical freedom and wish them success again. We always have to say that.
At this point we should not say that we are fighting, but there are no results. The fight is very important. The fight has political implications. It certainly has an impact on life in İmralı. Society’s struggle will break down the walls of İmralı and break through the system of torture and isolation. We have to believe in that. You have to trust that the fight will win. If we make it bigger, if we make the fight broader, we will definitely get results. Let our people know, let our hevals know. There should be absolutely no despair in this regard. One should not think that there are no results. On the contrary, if we can fight more, we will get more results. We must step up the fight in this regard. I call everyone
OUR RESISTANCE WILL GROW EVEN MORE
First of all, I want to commemorate the Şehîds of this war with respect, love and gratitude. I remember all the Şehîds of Zap, Avaşin, Metina in the person of Comrade Zerdeşt, Comrade Hüseyin Arasan, our Şehîds of Silêmanî and our Şehîds of Botan and Lice with respect, love and gratitude. I salute the guerrillas and our society resisting all kinds of attacks by Tayyip Erdoğan and the People’s Alliance fascist dictatorship. This resistance will no doubt grow and develop much more in the coming period.
THE INACTION WAS NOT RETURNED
In fact, up until now we have spoken of inaction on this issue. Maybe it’s a topic that draws attention or is a subject of curiosity. Our management felt that inaction was necessary for the earthquake. That was right. We stand behind it. We still believe we did the right thing. Then it was extended for the May 14 elections to prevent new provocations. we think they make sense. But we said it again and again, we said it too, our hevals said it too. Our commanders at headquarters expressed it most often. The HPG press center explained this in their statements. There was such a situation on our side. Otherwise, the other side has not taken such a stance. They never did. According to their own strength, when their powers were low or when they had other duties, the attacks were small, but when prepared they reinforced them. Our decision to remain inactive did not find any resonance in the administration of the Turkish state.
Some circles said they found it positive, but so far they have had no results. So where are we at? Elections have taken place. The election results are known, he built his new government in no time at all, which works like a machine. This means that Tayyip Erdoğan has prepared well for such things. He knew everything. It’s like a scenario that has already been written and prepared. At the same time, he also increased the attacks. There are military attacks in all areas. There are statements from Central Headquarters about the Medya Defense Zones. They have drawn up a monthly balance sheet, they draw it up daily. Every day there are at least 50-60 attacks. In a few days there will be hundreds. There are attacks from the land. They reported to Xakurke today that the crew plans to step up their attacks. The Turkish army, Lice, Botan, in many areas of the Bakur region there were both actions. There were both defensive actions and internal conflicts against the attacks. Rojava is constantly under attack. Shengal was attacked, Silêmanî was attacked here. MIT leadership has changed. I suspect the new administration wants to prove its competence by committing a massacre in Silêmanî. She wants to say that I’m in this business too. On the day of the elections they shot a member of the IYI party and in Gever they ran over a child. They make arrests every day. They arrested the mayors of Patnos. The attacks increase. The attack has military and political dimensions.
WE FACE A GOVERNMENT THAT CONTINUES ITS EXISTENCE WITH WAR AND MASSACRES
The fascist, colonialist and genocidal attacks are increasing and the resistance to them is advancing. The guerrillas have always resisted the attacks, retaliated, carried out blows. She was sensitive about that. It should evolve, it should be able to develop new styles of action against new targets, broader, in more places, just surpassing the old style a bit. And I think she does. Our commanders at headquarters have stated that the guerrillas are capable of successfully completing all kinds of tasks. This is important.
There was an attack on Shengal, Rojava is under attack. Especially the attack on Silêmanî, where a revolutionary Welatparêz was brazenly murdered. How often does that happen? It has now crossed the line. Our Hevals, all Welatparêz, our society, the revolutionary democratic forces of Turkey must see that we are dealing with a government that maintains its existence through war and massacre. That’s how it was until now. Now so is the newly installed government. In this sense, all should recognize this reality. In this case, they should develop an appropriate attitude. We need sensitivity. We cannot pretend that there is no such thing. There’s an enemy who wants to destroy us, who wants to destroy us. And he fulfills the need for it. He’s under fire 24 hours a day. Then it must be us who react to it. What should we do? We must improve our defenses. Everyone will take care of their own safety. It’s not just about the guerrillas or the revolutionary fighters, but about society as a whole, the Welatparêz, women and youth. It also applies to them. Because the attacks are aimed at everyone. It is not known where and who will be attacked. Therefore, every part of society needs to take security measures. We must take defensive measures. We should not pretend that we live in a free, democratic environment. We shouldn’t wait for someone else to keep us safe. What should we do? We must improve our defenses. Everyone will take care of their own safety. It’s not just about the guerrillas or the revolutionary fighters, but about society as a whole, the Welatparêz, women and youth. It also applies to them. We shouldn’t wait for someone else to keep us safe. live in a democratic environment. We shouldn’t wait for someone else to keep us safe.
WE MUST BE THE FIGHTERS
Secondly, it is necessary to fight against these attacks. Every patriotic revolutionary man, woman, young person must be a freedom fighter. There is an enemy attacking us. If he or she has the opportunity, he or she must fight, striking at the enemy and mobilizing his or her own resources and forces. This is the resistance of society. This creates total resistance. That’s called self-defense. Otherwise, words are not synonymous with self-defense. Approaches that take self-defense out of the military dimension are wrong. It is primarily military and has to do with security. They’re going to keep you safe, and that has a military meaning. There are other meanings too. But ultimately, military security is essential. In this regard, our society, our friends, all Welatparêz and Hevals should know full well that we are to be destroyed. Therefore we can live fighting those who want to destroy us, hitting them and defeating them. Therefore it is our duty to fight such a fight, to fight a war. Everyone should be aware of this. We have said it, but it is not fulfilled in practice. We have to be careful, the enemy will attack and get results when they don’t have that much power. We must not give him that opportunity. Therefore, I call on everyone to be sensitive, to be careful, to take care of your own safety, to fight the enemy. I call on everyone to fight against the fascist, colonialist, genocidal mentality and politics, against the attacks. Only such a war will keep us alive and support us.
THE FASCIST REGIME STRENGTHENS
The May 14 elections took place in the midst of a great struggle. For one thing, this struggle was based on guerrilla resistance. We have waged this struggle on the basis of revolutionary people’s war strategy, and the enemy has launched a total annihilation attack. This was a new method of fighting in such an inexorable war. The political method of struggle was important, we attached importance to it. Since it was associated with such a struggle so that it would produce certain results in that struggle, it would actually determine the course of that struggle in the later period. she was of that importance. There was nothing wrong in giving him that importance. It was right. Indeed, an important result has occurred. There was clarity. As with elections, results matter. Of course, it is necessary to know this once and for all. If AKP-MHP fascism had suffered an electoral defeat, if fascism had entered the process of collapse, the way would have been clear for Turkey’s democratization based on Turkish-Kurdish freedom. The fight would continue on this basis. The new struggle would be like this and have its own ways and methods. What is happening now? What are Tayyip Erdoğan and the People’s Alliance based on? The fascist government renewed itself, they took that out. In whatever form, this administration has been strengthened. Of course, in a way, she will carry on the old ways. Fascist institutionalization, efforts to institutionalize dictatorship will continue. But in other respects it will not be the same as before. She will try to attack with new methods. Tayyip Erdoğan said that we will step up both internal and external military attacks and diplomatic attacks. Therefore, the struggle will develop new methods. The struggle between the fascist dictatorship and democracy, free Kurdish freedom and democracy in Turkey has entered a new process.
Within this framework there are now discussions. There are some discussions and important reviews. We shouldn’t say there aren’t any. However, some reviews are too superficial, too superficial, too formal and don’t realize their importance. We have to express that. For example, there is a very extreme approach that reduces them to individuals. In addition, even before the announcement of Tayyip Erdoğan’s victory, many circles inside and outside the country returned. They immediately became followers. It’s been like this for some time now. Those who said this and that about Kılıçdaroğlu before the elections are now trying to advise the new government as if they never said those words. They’re trying to find a place in this administration. There are also such unethical approaches and attitudes.”
