BEHDINAN – Rojhilat Free Women’s Association (KJAR) guerrilla Elefteriya Gabar Cizîr spoke to ANF on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Zîlan’s (Zeynep Kınacı) martyrdom.
Guerrilla Elefteriya Gabar Cizîr said that Martyr Zîlan carried out his action in Dersim in 1996 with a great purpose against the dominant forces and the patriarchal mentality, and said, “First of all, I commemorate all the martyrs of June in the person of Martyr Zîlan and Gulan with gratitude, and I bow down in front of their memories with respect. With our struggle and resistance, we will follow in the footsteps of our martyrs. Zîlan halva proved that she can do anything with her sacrifice and love of life. Based on the leadership’s thought and philosophy, heval Zîlan performed a self-sacrificing action that showed the power of women. She showed everyone that no power can break the will of women. Today, thousands of people followed in the footsteps of heval Zîlan. We will walk Zîlan’s path of freedom until the end and we will be worthy of the efforts of all martyrs.
Heval Zîlan has always set an example for us with her dedication to life and strong personality, despite being a warrior for one year. Hundreds of young women followed in Zîlan’s footsteps, inherited the legacy of resistance and became martyrs. For example, many friends such as martyr Zîlan Pepûle and Zîlan Makû took the name of martyr Zîlan and joined the caravan of martyrs in this month. Our duty is to take more responsibility in the struggle and to be worthy of the labor of the martyrs of Kurdistan. Let’s intensify the fire of revolution. Young women should get to know the Leader’s thoughts and philosophy better and follow the Zîlans’ path of freedom. It is the will of women that will ensure the strengthening and survival of the struggle. As women, we must protect the Leadership and the struggle, and avenge our martyrs. Once again, I commemorate all the martyrs of June with respect.
