BEHDINAN – Yaşar Çiya, one of the HPG commanders, made an assessment to the ANF on the occasion of the anniversary of the June 1st Initiative against liquidationism and international conspiracy initiated by the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla in 2004.
THE TURKISH STATE HAS BEEN DEFEATED AGAINST GUERILLA RESISTANCE
Çiya made the following assessment for the historic June 1 Initiative: “We congratulate the anniversary of the June 1 Initiative, especially to Leader Apo, our patriotic people and all our friends. We commemorate the historic breakthrough in the person of the heroic martyrs of June 1, Commander Fazıl Botan, Gulçiya Gabar and Leyla Amed. We bow respectfully before their memory. On this occasion, we repeat the victory promise we made to Leader Apo, our martyrs and our people.
Our struggle against the Turkish state has entered its 50th year this year. The struggle against the occupation of Kurdistan has completed 50 years under the leadership of Leader Apo. On this occasion, we commemorate the martyrs and heroes of this struggle once again.
The truth of Leader Apo’s struggle against the Turkish state is known. Leader Apo, our movement and most of the world movements evaluated this struggle. The reality of our struggle against the invading Turkish state since 2015 is obvious. In response to the political and social move of the Rojava Revolution, which adopted Leader Apo’s paradigm, the fascist invading Turkish state developed a genocidal plan against the Kurdish people and the Kurdish Freedom Movement. With this plan, he attacked the Freedom Movement. They took the decision of the genocide attacks in 2014 and put them into action in 2015. The end of these conflicts is clear, the occupying state has not achieved its goal. The Kurdish Freedom guerrilla has foiled these plans. The state is in crisis. The Turkish state wanted to bring the genocidal and denialist mentality that it has been maintaining for a century in the person of AKP/MHP to the top and finalize it.
THE PEOPLE WANT TO GET OUT OF THIS REGIME
Reminding that the Turkish state was experiencing a crisis both inside and outside in the face of the guerrilla struggle, Çiya said, “It experienced both an economic, a political and a social crisis at home. The state as a whole experienced a crisis. To overcome this crisis, they calculated to prolong their lives with a choice. After the earthquake on 6 February, the situation of the Turkish state became even worse. Before the elections, everyone saw that the genocidal attacks of the Turkish state against the Kurdish people and movement were defeated. They calculated it as the last period of AKP and MHP. The people thought so too. In fact, both the peoples of Kurdistan and Türkiye wanted to get rid of this regime. Because there was a crisis in the person of this regime. However, the elections held were a state of seizure rather than an election. All the facilities of the Turkish state in the person of AKP-MHP were confiscated. They used all the means of the state.
They were making the following calculation; militarily, the AKP-MHP was defeated, but this is not only the defeat of the AKP-MHP, it is the defeat of the Turkish state. They saw it as a hundred-year-old issue in terms of their mentality. For him, although it was touted as a democratic election on the face of it, it turned out that it was not so in essence. All state institutions have been taken over. All their institutions were together. They created a situation as if the people were supposedly supporting them. But this is not the truth. They create a situation as if the elections were held in a democratic environment and the public supports them. It is as if the public chose them in such an environment. But the truth is not like that. The Turkish state has committed a systematic fraud for the first time in its history. This is the first. The issue is not AKP-MHP. The issue is the fascist mentality of the Turkish state. After all, AKP-Erdogan is a puppet in the hands of the state. The state has taken Erdogan hostage. Erdogan is just an identity. Erdogan has some situations, the state uses them. Like Islamic identity… They use it well. They are using it for both Bakurê Kurdistan and the Middle East. This truth must be seen. The public needs to understand and see this,” he said.
TURKISH STATE IS LIVING THE WEAKEST PERIOD IN HISTORY
Expressing that the results of the elections do not represent the will of the peoples of Turkey, Çiya continued her assessments as follows: “This is not the will of the peoples of Anatolia and Bakure Kurdistan. On this occasion, let’s also say this. Our people of Bakure Kurdistan have already demonstrated their will. The map of Kurdistan appeared in the elections. They rejected the regime. On this occasion, we greet our patriotic people. We congratulate them on their success. This is a historical success, a historical message for the fascist invading Turkish state.
We should also see: The Turkish state presents itself as successful in the elections in the person of AKP-MHP. However, that is not the case. How did the chaos and crisis they experience come about? It happened with the effort and struggle of the Kurdish people. They make it seem as if they will emerge from the crisis experienced both before and after the election, but this is not so. Our pre-election movement evaluated this situation. The Turkish state is experiencing its weakest period. This choice did not strengthen them, they are weak. The Turkish state, in the person of AKP-MHP, has done its best for the last 8 years. That’s the top. Especially in the last two years, they have waged this war in the Medya Defense Zones. They wanted to break the will of our movement and our people absolutely. They failed, they were defeated. They were defeated in this struggle. In the elections, however, the people hoped that they would lose. Because the public does not support them. But they cheated in such a way that it was as if the public was supporting them. But the public does not support them. The fascist mentality they promote does not even exceed 5 percent of the society. This is such a project. They manage the state by cheating. They want to show themselves successful and create hope in the people. They create a perception for it. As if the AKP-MHP came to power again, they want to create hope with it. Here the war continues. They are surrendering the will of the free people. Truth is not like that. The elections will not save the crisis and chaotic situation in which the Turkish state has entered. If they persist in their genocidal policy, their situation will be worse. Everyone knows this. The Turkish state is well aware of this situation. If both pre-election and post-election messages are read correctly, they are aware of this. “ But the public does not support them. The fascist mentality they promote does not even exceed 5 percent of the society. This is such a project. They manage the state by cheating.
THE RESISTANCE OF THE KURDISH FREEDOM GUERILLA PUT THE TURKISH STATE IN CRISIS
Çiya pointed out that the Turkish state was in a systemic crisis against the Kurdish Freedom Movement and drew attention to the following: “It is the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people that put the Turkish state in this situation. They have experienced crises many times in the history of our struggle. They made elections, they made early elections. However, the regime has always wanted to sustain itself. But this is the first time that the Turkish state has entered such a deep crisis in the face of our struggle. It was the first time it was in such a difficult situation in the face of the struggle led by Leader Apo. This has been proven in the last 8 years of war. The struggle for freedom will come to a conclusion together with our people after this stage.
After Leader Apo was captured, he put forward a resistance and a new paradigm in Imrali. He developed an alternative system to the regimes. Leader Apo demanded the democratization of the regime and the recognition of the will of the Kurdish people. Unfortunately, they rejected the suggestions of Leader Apo and our Movement. In the face of this, Leader Apo developed the strategy of struggle for the people’s revolution. This is the last 8-year period, when the people’s revolution struggle strategy came into play most strongly. We have to get it right. The strategy that Leader Apo put before us is the strategy of victory. One pillar of this strategy is the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla and the other pillar is the people. Civil Defense Units (YPS) are leading the people’s revolutionary struggle strategy among the people. Like the pioneers that emerged at the beginning, a historical struggle emerged in the person of Çiyager, Mehmet Tunç and Asya Yüksel. In this period; In other words, a strong struggle has developed in these last 8 years. However, we could not advance the stage that Leader Apo wanted from us. The struggle remains only with the guerrilla. Our strategy has two pillars. The guerrilla and the people must fight together. If the guerrilla is left alone, it becomes resistance. If the people, led by YPS, play their role, our strategy is victory strategy. No one can prevent this. What the enemy fears most is the public leg of this strategy. He wants the strategy to remain only on the shoulders of the guerrilla. Pay attention, what is the enemy doing? He surrounds the guerrilla. He wants the struggle to be limited to the mountains only. A historical struggle has emerged in the person of Mehmet Tunç, commander Çiyager and Asya Yüksel. Despite the lack of reed, a serious and historical result has emerged. However, we could not advance the stage that Leader Apo wanted from us. The struggle remains only with the guerrilla. Our strategy has two pillars. The guerrilla and the people must fight together. If the guerrilla is left alone, it becomes resistance. If the people, led by YPS, play their role, our strategy is victory strategy. No one can prevent this. Kurdish youth joined the struggle. They participated in the process. He joined the guerrilla. The guerrilla is an important pillar of Leader Apo’s strategy, it is the main element. It exhibits a historical resistance in the mountains of Kurdistan. The results are also moderate. Especially in the last two years, the power and might of the Kurdistan guerrilla has emerged in Zap, Avaşîn and Metîna. But the other pillar of the strategy is the people and the YPS. If we understand it correctly and operate it correctly in Bakurê Kurdistan and in the metropolises, a historical struggle will emerge. For example, in recent years, after the Zap, Avaşîn Metina war, hundreds and thousands of Kurdish youth come to the guerrilla areas and contact us to take their place in the ranks. Some come and join the guerrilla ranks. Those who did not have the opportunity to come should not forget this; Let them approach in line with Leader Apo’s strategy.
Our other strategy is the people. They should not forget that each and every one of the Kurdish youth is a YPS militant. They are the warriors of Çiyager and Zerya. There are hundreds of Kurdish youth, they take the initiative and take action. They burn the enemy’s factories and cars. They do this by taking initiative. Here we greet them. They are on the right track. They are on the way of Çiyager and Zerya. The will of our people must be recognized. If it is not recognized, the Revolutionary People’s War must step in. When the Revolutionary People’s War comes into play, the guerrilla and the people have to come together. It should not be limited to Bakure Kurdistan only. This war should spread to all Turkish metropolises. Kurdish youth should prepare themselves for this. We are calling from here to the Kurdish patriotic youth, the youth of Amed, the youth of Garzan, the youth of Botan, It is our call to Serhat youth and the youth living in metropolises. The greatest power is the Kurdish youth. The enemy has always feared the power of the youth. Beware, he is constantly attacking, arresting, killing to scare the youth. He is killing Kurdish youth for speaking Kurdish. He plays the saz, sings; killing. Because he is afraid of the Kurdish youth and his people. The enemy is weak in this regard.”
KURDISH YOUTH MUST BE READY TO PLAY THE ROLE
Emphasizing the importance of Kurdish youth playing the role if the enemy insists on war in 2023, Çiya continued: “The enemy insists on war. Especially in these last two years, he wants to turn Kurdistan into a devastation. It targets our geography, our people, everything we do. Kurdish youth should take a stance against this. Every Kurdish youth can do the same to them in Turkish metropolises as they approached Kurdistan. If the enemy persists in this war in 2023, we must turn all of Turkey into hell. Kurdish youth should be ready for this. Don’t let the Kurdish youth say, I came to Zap and played my role. This is a true and historical participation. But don’t forget that Zap has one foot among the people and in the metropolises. Kurdish youth themselves. Leader Apo’s most effective army is among the people. Leader Apo says; If a people stand up for freedom, no power can break its will. Young people lead the way. Patriotic Kurdish girls and boys do it. Every patriotic Kurdish youth should not forget that he is Apo’s militant and bodyguard. Mehmet Tunç is the warrior of Zerya, Çiyager and Asya Yükseller. They want to destroy our country. Let’s destroy their country on their heads. Every Kurdish youth who organizes himself correctly can do this. Our greatest strength is our freedom and our faith. It is our love for our country and our people. Seeing this power, every young person can also find all kinds of techniques and weapons for action. This applies not only to young people, but also to the general public. The will that emerges in the elections is not their will. They usurped the will of the people. People want to get rid of this regime. CHP, MHP and AKP are all one in essence. They do not want the free and democratic will of the people to emerge. They want to get ahead. Kurdish youth should take a stance against them.
