BEHDINAN – HPG Press Center statement is as follows:
“Our comrade Zerdeşt Agir, the Apoist bodyguard commander, was martyred in the enemy attack that took place on October 4, 2022, while he was serving as a member of the regional command in the Garê area. Our comrade Zoroastrian has waged an epic struggle with the taste of a folk song for 22 years, from Xinêre to Zap, from Qendil to Dêrsîm, from the Black Sea to Garê. Comrade Zerdeşt’s Apoist militantism and determination to struggle will set an example for us comrades, and the goals for which he fought selflessly will certainly be achieved.
We express our condolences to the valuable family of our comrade Zoroaster, the patriotic people of Elbak and all the people of Kurdistan.
The identity information of our comrade Zerdeşt Agir is as follows:
Code Name: Zerdeşt Agir Name Surname: Ayvaz Beyaz Place of Birth: Wan Mother – Father Name: Şaristan – Kazım Martyrdom Date and Place: October 2022 / Garê |
Our comrade Zerdeşt Agir was born in 1984 in Xokan village of Elbak district of Wan. As a member of the Ertushi tribe, he grew up in a patriotic family environment, which had martyrs and participation in the freedom struggle. His aunt’s son died in Wan Qelqelî in 1999, and his uncle’s son, our comrade Welat, was martyred in Botan in 2007. Our comrade Zoroastrian has known our Party since his childhood due to the struggle of the guerrillas in the region and has sought to be involved in the freedom struggle. He studied at the Turkish public school until primary school, then left. In 1999, he felt a great grudge and anger against the international conspiracy, which was the biggest genocidal attack on the Kurdish people in the person of Leader Apo. Like every honorable Kurd, he took care of Leader Apo and his struggle, and his national feelings led him to an active struggle.
Comrade Zerdeşt, who joined the ranks of the Party in 2000, received his first guerrilla training in Xinêre and started practice. After practicing in Xinêre for two years, he joined the Hêzên Taybet organization at the end of 2001 on the basis of being an Apoist bodyguard and continuing the revolutionary march on the line of self-sacrifice. Comrade Zerdeşt, who gained an important level and formation by going through rigorous training, assumed various responsibilities in different areas of Medya Defense Areas, from Qendil to Zap, claiming to be an Apoist bouncer. Comrade Zerdeşt, who always aims to be successful in everything he does and strives for this, made his way to Bakure Kurdistan in 2006. He went to the Dersim field and participated in the practice there. From 2006 to 2009, he carried out practical activities in the regions of the Dersim area, participated in many actions.
Our comrade Zerdeşt has always felt indebted to his martyred comrades, he never forgot his memories, and he tried to be worthy of our army of immortal martyrs, knowing that forgetting the martyrs is equivalent to betrayal. The words that Comrade Zerdeşt wrote about our martyred comrades, flowing from his heart to his pen, became a poem and remained in history:
”TO THE SKIES
Smile, dear country
It’s not okay to cry
To the Children of Fire
Epic faces
Those children who
They carried the light on their skin}
They didn’t appreciate
the sinful hypocrite
Neither his lineage nor his reign
Not on the back of a noble horse
crucify themselves
To the sky leave
They came and their tales
Like a shirt from the dawn
They pulled on their faces
And they became immortal
In the hearts of the people and their comrades.”
In 2009, it moved to the Black Sea area as an initiative group under the leadership of the legendary commander Celal Başkale. Here, a guerrilla practice that left its mark on the period with breathless struggle, great willpower, patience, perseverance, great practical intelligence, enemy sensitivity and high military performance was carried out. Our comrade Zerdeşt was one of the devoted workers and self-sacrificing militants of this process, which was organized and commanded by Commander Celal Başkale. Our comrade, who determined his name in his revolutionary life as Zerdeşt Agir, was known among his friends as Zerdeşt Başkale because of his hometown and as Zerdeşt Karadeniz because of the field in which he carried out practical activities. After this successful practice in the Black Sea for four years, he moved to Dersim in 2012.
He took part in the education process at the Mahsum Korkmaz Military Academy, made an accounting of his practice in Bakure Kurdistan, learned important lessons by giving strong criticism and self-criticism of this practice, and shared his vast knowledge, experience and lessons with all his comrades. After the training, Hêzên Taybet started to work, took on various tasks in different fields and successfully fulfilled them. Our comrade Zerdeşt has always pursued the pursuit of moving to new areas, developing new moves, making new initiatives and unlimited creative guerrillaism.
With his humble, dervish personality, he had a great effort in every work, from the most detailed work in life to guerrilla action, from educating his comrades with morale to being a regional commander. Comrade Zerdeşt defined himself as a drop in the PKK’s ocean of meaning and struggle, and he was locked in successfully fulfilling his role in this ocean. Our comrade Zerdeşt was martyred in the enemy attack that took place on October 4, 2022, while he was serving as a member of the regional command in Garê.”
