News Center – Tensions erupted in parliament after the speaker adjourned the session indefinitely and the deputy speaker tried to continue the sessions.
Rewaz Fayeq, the speaker of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), said at the beginning of the meeting: In order to protect national unity and consensus of political forces, I decided to use my sole absolute unconditional power Therefore, I will postpone today’s meeting.

After the decision to postpone the session, Deputy Speaker Hemin Hawrami asked the MPs to raise their hands who are in favor of the session, thus causing tension between the YNK and PDK MPs.

MPs from both factions attacked each other, then security forces were brought into the meeting hall, and the clashes ended.

Gulistan Saeed, head of the Gorran faction in parliament, said that the reactivation of the commission is an issue that requires compromise of all parties and can not be done alone, because the election law and reactivation of parliament together.

As tensions continued, many went to the meeting place of the presidency of the parliament, but Hemn Hamurami put the reactivation of the commission to vote, without knowing how many votes he won or not.

For his part, Ziad Jabar, head of the YNK faction in parliament, said: “Today wanted to pass an illegal act, but we as the PUK faction prevented it, because the reactivation of the commission and amend the election law requires compromise.
