Why did Leader Apo need such a strategy and why did you develop the Revolutionary People’s War strategy?
Leader Apo developed many strategies as an alternative to the state in solving the Kurdish problem.
Guerrilla struggle is a long-term struggle process and war. After the paradigm shift, Leader Apo said, “Our people, especially women, should take the line of self-defense in four parts of Kurdistan.” In general, with the paradigm shift, innovations and strategic developments in the style of war came to the fore. The Revolutionary People’s War developed as a result of these pursuits and as a result of decades of revolutionary struggle.
THE STATE IS THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE
In the negotiations with the state during the developing struggle and war processes, we, as a movement, declared a ceasefire many times. These were the unilateral ceasefires we developed. In the talks with the state, the leadership expressed how these problems can be solved in the solution of the Kurdish problem, social problems and women’s problem, both in their defense and in the ceasefires and talks. A long and bitter struggle was waged in the struggle for the solution of the Kurdish problem. Those who defend the state and democracy continue as a system in the same lanes. As long as we develop democracy as a freedom movement, the influence of the state will decrease. The state can maintain its system for a long time. The history of the state has continued itself since the Sumerians. Leader Apo generally states that the state is the enemy of the peoples in his defenses. The state does not take any steps to find solutions for the people. As the Freedom movement, we are doing our part in the development of the struggle for freedom and democracy. We have seen and convinced in the ceasefires and negotiations with the state that the state cannot produce a solution. As the freedom movement, our northern guerrilla forces withdrew on the basis of self-defense development within the framework of the revolutionary people’s war strategy, with the confidence of our self-confidence, upon the instruction of leader Apo. WE WILL DEVELOP THE DEMOCRATIC CONFEDERAL SYSTEM IN LINE OF SELF-DEFENSE
Leader Apo developed many strategies as an alternative to the state in solving the Kurdish problem. We will develop the democratic confederal system along the lines of self-defense. A step-by-step leadership project was implemented in Rojava 2011- 2012- 2015 in the northern area, Shengal and Maxmur. Even though it is the state, we are establishing our own system. Setting up your own system is not enough just by declaring it. For this, organization, the creation of a defense system, all dimensions need to be structured in areas. During the 50-year war period, there is a war of freedom that is fiercely waged. Against this, the state’s destruction and denial attacks continue. Revolutionary people’s war strategy is the accumulation and experience of the developed struggle.
OUR PEOPLE NEEDS TO ORGANIZE THEM ON THE BASIS OF THE REVOLUTIONARY PEOPLE’S WAR
First of all, we developed guerrilla warfare among the people. Initially, the war was developed against the agent and collaborator factions in the City. Guerrilla warfare began on 15 August. ARGK was originally developed on the mountain. The guerrilla are the children of the Kurdish people. The people are also with the guerrilla. This formation is intertwined. The people cannot be without the guerrilla and the guerrilla cannot be without the people. We will dry the sea and dehydrate the fish in all the operations the Turkish state carries out. The people sided with the guerrilla. The guerrilla are the children of this people. In the declaration of self-government in 2015, the people of Cizre, Nusaybin and Amed serhildans actively took part in this war. Thousands of women, old and young people were killed in these serildans. The people no longer believed in the Turkish state. That’s why the people have to form their own government. We did not declare war. We said that we want to manage ourselves by creating our own management. The people organized themselves within this framework. The Turkish state attacked the people. There have been changes in Middle Eastern politics. Psychological warfare is carried out over these changes. The Turkish state and world states have the PKK and guerrilla, they are terrorists and they are pursuing politics over we want to destroy them. Rape, harassment and massacres of women are carried out at a very high level in society. The war is no longer waged only against the guerrilla. The war is being waged against the whole society and against the guerrilla. We need to frustrate all the strategies of the state with the strategy and perspective of the revolutionary people’s war and organize ourselves. The general slogan of the people is that the guerrilla must come and save us. This slogan does not take its place. The city, the neighborhood belongs to that community.
SOCIETY IS BEING NATURE’S WAY OF EXPRESSION
When Leader Apo voiced self-defense, he talked about the theory of Gul. He stated that just as a rose protects itself with its thorns, all living things should protect themselves, this is a natural right. Nature itself is alive and there is always a reflex of nature. In the universe and in Nature, society has a mind, reflexes, and language. But other creatures live in groups. We cannot call these communities or these creatures a society. We can say that roses are a collection of trees. Society becomes a society by organizing itself as a living entity, multiplying, organizing its life, culture and language. Society becomes nature’s way of expressing itself.
THEY DEVELOPED WHITE ASIMILATION WITH SPECIAL WAR ARGUMENTS
The AKP-MHP fascist state attacks the Kurdish people every day. But at the same time, they say that our problem is not with the Kurdish people, but with the PKK, that is, with the terrorists. They are the children of this people they call terrorists. This attack has been going on for centuries. They suppressed societies by oppression and exploitation, but then they assimilated. This brought self-denial. On this basis they developed white assimilation. As it is said on Mount Ararat, ‘Kurd is enamored here’, they use the same argument today. Generally speaking, they are attacking Rojava, Shengal and Maxmur. He says I have no problems with the Kurdish people, the Yazidis. He says there are invasion attacks in Bashurê Kurdistan every day, but I recognize the will of the regional government. He develops the same attack everywhere, the attacks are carried out on the society. We need to eliminate this particular war argument. With the arguments created by the special war, the public is prevented from recognizing itself, its history and its culture.
PRIVATE WAR STRATEGY IS THE FOUNDATION OF CAPITALIST MODERNITY
The Turkish state has a deep and dirty structure in character. They rely on private warfare to win. The guerrilla belongs to this society. Why did the PKK emerge in the first place? How did the guerrilla become a guerrilla? If the identity of the Kurdish people had not been recognized and denied, the PKK would not have emerged and there would have been no need for the PKK. Second, where and when should society protect itself? Within the framework of the revolutionary people’s war strategy, the people should organize themselves and defend themselves. Revolutionism is not limited to climbing the mountain and being a cadre. Revolutionary culture is about self-education and development within the framework of democratic confederalism. It happens by restructuring itself on the basis of the democratic nation line and self-defense line. Revolutionary people’s war strategy is not the same as Self-defense. Although the two are intertwined, the revolutionary people’s war strategy is long-term. The struggle against the attacks of the Turkish state is not only military attacks. They want to dissolve the moral and political society within the framework of the philosophy of freedom in the sociological sense, the reality of society created through our values. Society wants to structure itself through language, culture, morality and politics, democracy.
KURDISH SOCIETY CAN DETERMINE ITS OWN FATE
They say that the AKP-MHP Fascist ruling regime will change the sociology of the Kurds. They also know that the PKK and the Guerrilla have changed the sociology of the Kurds. The Kurd is no longer the old Kurd. People say that we don’t have to follow everything the state says anymore. Kurdish society now recognizes itself. Previously, the knowledge, experience and organization of the Kurds did not develop in this way. The resistance of the Kurds has always been suppressed. The PKK has entered its 50th year. In this 50-year period, there have been serious changes in society. Leader Apo; He said, ‘If a person cannot reach historical and cultural knowledge in society, that society is ignorant.’ What is an ignorant person like? It is very easy to be deceived, executed, deceived. Kurdish society recognizes its historical memory. What happened in history, what was lost. He knows what is needed today.
EVERYONE MUST BE ORGANIZED ACCORDING TO THE REVOLUTIONARY PEOPLE’S WAR
In the revolutionary people’s war strategy, the guerrilla is everywhere. Guerrilla is in society. The guerrilla is society itself. In general surveys, tens of women are murdered daily. Who will protect these women? Of course, the guerrilla and society will protect it. States base and impose Arab, Persian and Turkish culture. He does not know Kurdish history, language and culture. The revolutionary people’s war strategy is also important on this basis. The entire society should be included in the revolutionary people’s war strategy. It is imperative that everyone organizes himself according to the revolutionary people’s war. Women are also involved in this war. Women are the founder and basis of society, that is, the mother of society. How was the public affected by the woman’s participation in the guerrilla? What effect did it have on the first woman’s activism? It also has an impact on society. Women came to the AKP-MHP fascist government in Syria, Iraq, They need to organize themselves against Iranian states wherever they are. It is not right to expect everything from the guerrilla. Rojava has organized itself within the framework of Shengal self-defense. Self-organization is also the basic principle of self-defense. Every society is responsible for where it lives. He should consider himself responsible for every house and every neighborhood. Moral stance expresses that society. What is morality? There are developments in the specificity of each piece. The developments in Rojava are different from the developments in the north. When the revolutionary people’s war strategy is mentioned, the same tactic cannot be carried out everywhere. The guerrilla organization is different in each state, and there is no pattern in this matter. In order for the guerrilla to lead his life, he must have order and discipline. There are all colors in society, so it should be approached differently. We developed the Rojava revolution. Society organizes itself according to war and rebuilds itself. After 2015, the society also took a step in the northern area. The Turkish state killed hundreds of our people. He threw thousands of our people into the dungeons. There is always an extraordinary situation in the North, but despite this, our people are always on their feet. All activities, press releases, the meaning of their march is that they form a circle around the guerrilla and stand by the guerrilla. Although these actions are not at the desired level, the Turkish state also applies a lot of pressure and torture on the people. The Turkish state has always attacked the Kurds, and we did not remain unanswered and responded to these attacks. No matter how much we struggle against the process, this is always insufficient. We have never considered ourselves sufficient. If we see ourselves as sufficient, we leave ourselves inactive. This is not true. As long as there is society, the struggle continues in a multi-faceted way. We used to evaluate the post-revolutionary period before. But every day is revolutionary because the revolution is happening in the moment. It is necessary to bring the society to such a level that every day should be a day of struggle. If we can create a free society or create the essence of society, there will be no need for the concepts of freedom and democracy. Because, as in the natural society, the society will be able to continue its life in a free and democratic way. In the Middle East, we, as the Kurdish people, have to continue our struggle to secure our security. Our people resisted and fought for 56 days in the Afrin attack, this is the basis of our resistance. Leader Apo says that the more you can organize a society, the more it belongs to you. Society should not be approached straight. We cannot weaken our organizational efforts by saying that the society already knows us and understands us. Societies have been subjected to exploitation and oppression for 5000 years. All societies have been and have been under the influence of capitalist modernity. The capitalist mind of modernity,

The 9 dimensions of the democratic nation should be implemented on the basis of the needs of societies. There is no rule that it will be executed in the same way as a rule in every society. He said that the Leadership may not be able to meet the needs for Democratic Confederalism today. However, this definition may change in the future. We are not social engineers. Struggle or revolution cannot be carried out within the determined framework. When you approach through formulas, that society does not know you. ALL DIMENSIONS MUST BE ORGANIZED ON THE BASIS OF SOCIETY NEEDS
All dimensions indicated by the leadership should organize itself within the framework of the revolutionary people’s war. For example, the economy dimension is very important for society and The economic dimension to be developed in the revolutionary people’s war is also very important. Both the general and women’s economy should be organized within the framework of a collective economy. Economy is valid for the society to run its own life. The collective economy is the society’s ability to determine and run its own economy. For example, the land must be cultivated communally and its produce must be distributed communally. The economy, which has been developed for thousands of years, is under the control of power and monopoly. The state develops its economy by exploiting the labor of the people. Societies are always made needy by the state by starving them in this way. The state does not give anything to the societies in any way. The state represents a small group. This group of oppression and exploitation develops power. It can survive by exploiting societies. We have to put the communal economy at the service of the people. This is not something that will happen right away. This can be achieved with great struggle and effort.
We need to develop community diplomacy. If the diplomacy to be developed does not have a public foot, this diplomacy will be a state diplomacy. Diplomacy can be developed based on the needs and opinions of the people.
Self defense is long term. It is the organization of the society against all kinds of tendencies and attacks within the society. It is imperative that the whole society organizes itself on the basis of self-defense. All dimensions should express society itself, not supra-society. The destruction caused by the state in the mentality of society is still experienced today. Societies have not reached a stage where they can think and organize themselves on moral and political grounds.
Justice should be based on social justice. In Rojava, all our courts and the society decide by itself, which is the right thing.
It organizes itself with democratic confederalism on the basis of the Revolutionary People’s War strategy in the autonomous administration. The organization of all dimensions is interrelated. The people organize and strengthen themselves with the strategy of revolutionary people’s war against all attacks. Because it is a basic need.
The guerrilla cadre takes its place in the democratic confederal system and is the guerrilla leading force. Staff Mind is educated in philosophical, organizational and historical sense. Guerrilla cannot walk without training. The educational dimension also plays an important role in developing the revolutionary people’s war. Communities need to be educated. There should be training in all dimensions. Dimensional training should be carried out according to the specifics of each field. What kind of society do we want to be? We must ask ourselves the question.
THE STATE STEAL THE WILL OF THE COMMUNITIES AND MADE IT WON’T
How should we protect our own country against both internal and external attacks? A society can only become a society by its own will. The state has stolen the will of the societies and rendered it powerless. Can societies express themselves historically, philosophically and culturally in the democratic confederal system? Societies have to create their democratic systems. Whoever poses an obstacle to the development of democracy must be overcome. There are YPG-YPJ, SDF in Rojava. The whole society should be involved in this work. This is self-deception if society itself does not take part in the revolutionary people’s war. Responsibility belongs to the whole society. We must unite around the YPG-YPJ and fulfill our duties. For example, bringing ammunition, keeping watch, cooking, helping in general, bringing the wounded, removing the martyrs, Informing the public is their duty. By fulfilling these duties, we actually take an active part in the revolutionary people’s war.
‘NON’T FIGHT LIKE OLD, NOR LIVE LIKE OLD’
Leader Apo ‘do not deceive yourself, we cannot ensure the security of Kurdistan in a short time’. He said, World War 3 is happening. All societies have seen the first and second world wars. Today, we are living the 3rd World War and it is a different war in character from the others. These wars are both intertwined and opposed to each other in character. They are both tearing apart and oppressing entire societies and speaking on behalf of societies. Leader Apo ‘We do not close all doors. Whichever door is open and if possible, we can pass through this door. The real door is the society itself,’ he said. Making decisions about their own lives as societies and making themselves accepted voluntarily constitute the basis of the revolutionary people’s war strategy. States want to pollute the society itself within the society. If, for example, a person in a village is trying to corrupt and pollute that society, if there is an organized structure, it will stand against it and prevent it. Today, everyone must organize and live his life according to the strategy of the revolutionary people’s war. As Leader Apo stated, ‘neither one can fight like before, nor live as before.’
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE LATE IN THE REVOLUTIONARY PEOPLE’S WAR?
Young women are the leading forces of the freedom movement. They are initiative, active, self-sacrificing, veteran, lively and active in every sense. All states want to use young people. What do we want to do as a freedom movement? We say that the pioneers of this society are the youth. As the PKK movement, we started young and will finish young. Youth always renews itself and participates in the struggle. At this stage, young women need to organize themselves against fascism and the special war system. They need to participate by knowing their own responsibilities and making them conscious. Young women should participate more actively in the revolutionary people’s war strategy. The freedom movement organizes itself as a guerrilla and a people in all areas within the framework of the revolutionary popular strategy. We believe that it is the young people who will most strongly participate and respond to this process.
