NEWS CENTER – The following text is a grand message from Rêber APO on the occasion of the May Day demonstration in Amed in 2014. It is the Chairperson’s last May Day message before the start of total isolation in April 2015.
LONG LIVE WORKING CLASS SOLIDARITY AND ALL SOCIETIES
Socialism is more necessary than ever, but at the same time the distance from socialist ideology and practice reflects the crisis of both socialism and capitalism. The crisis of socialism is not based on objective causes. The crisis stems from subjective factors, namely the lack of consistent awareness, organization and action. Undoubtedly, the ideological hegemony of capitalism is the most important external factor. But crucial is the absence of a socialist ideology and practice, instead there is an eclectic approach and practice.
In this era of hegemonic financial capitalism, the attack is not only directed against the world of work, but against society as a whole, its history, ecology and future. That means: socialism or barbarism, society or nothingness.
The gene of capitalism, which has appeared like gnawing rats in the depths of history, has spread like a cancer to the entire social body of our time. Undoubtedly, the information monopoly also played an important role. For the social, therefore, it is imperative to conduct the information war in unity with the struggle for the moral-political society. To do this, we must counter the three pillars that support the system – capital monopoly, industrialism and the nation state – with a socialism based on communal economy, ecological industry and the democratic nation. In other words, we must create the alternative to capitalist modernity through democratic modernity.
The mixed systems of real socialism, social democracy and national liberation failed because they did not get beyond one-sided development economics in the fight against capitalist modernity. They turned capitalism into a raging monster. The road to salvation is democratic modernity based on the democratic nation, ecological industry and communal economy.
The Middle East region is now the weakest link in the hegemonic system. In a way, a third world war is taking place there. Kurdistan is located in the center of this region. The freedom movement is capable of leading the anti-hegemonic struggle of all peoples, nations and cultural groups in this region. The workers and the unemployed must lead this struggle with their own ideological and practical weapons. Learning from their history and embracing the history of the peoples of the region, they must provide leadership for society as a whole, especially for the peasantry and the suburbs.
By defining its historical mission in this way, the PKK resolutely expresses its internationalist solidarity with the working class of Turkey, all working people and the societies of the region, and will express this solidarity in its practice.
Long live the solidarity of the working class and all societies!
Down with capitalist hegemony!
