HANNOVER – The young people came together in the Independent Youth Center Kornstrasse (UJZ Korn) and saw the attacks by the Turkish occupying state on Kurdish society in southern Kurdistan with internationally banned weapons, the attacks on Maxmur, Shengal and Rojava, which were bombed with fighter jets and drones, the Elections in Turkey and the current siege of the refugee camp Şehîd Rustem Cûdî in Maxmur, which is taking place by the Iraqi state in collaboration with the KDP, under pressure from the occupying Turkish state, as an opportunity to declare and to express solidarity with the resistant population of Maxmur to draw attention to the situation of the camp.
Parallel to the attacks in Kurdistan, there are also attacks in Germany on Kurds, Turkish opposition figures and people who show solidarity with the Kurdistan freedom movement. In Hanover, the internationalist youth took all of this as an opportunity to show solidarity with the resistance and the fighting throughout Kurdistan and condemn these attacks. The internationalist young people from Hanover express their solidarity with the struggle in Kurdistan and comment on the Iraqi state ’s latest attempt to attack the refugee camp Şehîd Rustem Cûdî in Maxmûr with the following words:
“While Turkey is driving the war throughout Kurdistan to the extreme and constantly bombarding the democratic autonomies in Mexico, Sengal and Rojava with fighter jets and drones from the air, the international community of states approves of this and remains silent, Turkey under Erdogan is threatening Iraq with this turn off the water. This is intended to put pressure on Iraq to take active action against the Kurds. Since the Sengal Agreement led by the USA could not be implemented due to the resistance in Sengal, an attempt is now being made to attack and dissolve the Mexmur refugee camp.
Five days ago, the Iraqi military moved in with barbed wire fences and construction machinery to fence off the camp in Mexmur and dig trenches. This is an attempt to isolate the camp, to restrict the freedom of movement of the 12,000 people in the camp. Attempts are also being made to rebuild the camp with military watchtowers in order to be able to control the camp militarily. In the medium term one wants to achieve the goal of dissolving Camp Mexmur. The camp has been besieged by an armada since Saturday . As internationalist young people, we greet the resistance of society in Mexmur and wish all young people a lot of strength and success in their struggles.”
Another solidarity photo shows solidarity with the Alhambra Autonomous Action and Communication Center in Oldenburg, Lower Saxony, which was recently attacked by Turkish fascists . In this regard, the statement states:
“Erdogan’s henchmen are also pushing their war against leftists and Kurds in Germany to the extreme. Again and again we experience that the paramilitary structures (grey wolves), which were set up jointly by the secret service of Turkey and Germany in the 1960s, attack solidarity with Kurds and the Kurdistan freedom movement here in Germany. The left center Alhambra in Oldenburg was recently attacked. There are threats to set fire to the building. As internationalist youth from Hanover, we condemn these attempts at intimidation and show our solidarity with the comrades in Oldenburg. We say: You will burn your fingers on us! The Alhambra was attacked , but we are all meant!
