LEIPZIG – More than 2,000 people gathered in Leipzig for the May 1st demonstration, who marched together, powerfully and loudly through the streets of the city.
After an initial rally on Südplatz, the demonstration march formed and headed towards the city centre. The demo was divided into different blocks and was led by the internationalist block. The demo loudly passed Augustusplatz, where a few fascists tried to obstruct a rally. This could later be successfully prevented by anti-fascist people.
The demonstration, which attracted the attention of the city’s population, moved across the railway road to the Rabet district park. Arrived on site, the demonstration ended with a powerful final rally and a park festival.
