BEHDÎNAN – The statement from the press center of the HPG reads as follows:
“On December 16, 2022, our comrade Aram Sîrvan was killed in an air raid by the occupying Turkish army west of Zap Şehîd. Heval Aram, who is from Sine city in Rojhilat Kurdistan, saw the free future of our society in our PKK party, which he joined with a deep national consciousness and on that basis he participated himself with great sacrifice. Against the occupying powers’ policy of realizing the Kurdish genocide through the physical and spiritual separation of our society from one another, he saw the fight for freedom being waged in other areas of Kurdistan as his own fight for freedom and accepted it.
Our condolences go to his esteemed family, the welatparêzen society of Sinê and the entire society of Kurdistan, which raised such a brave son devoted to national values and gave him to our society’s struggle for freedom.

Our society of Rojhilat Kurdistan has never recognized the artificial borders that want to divide our country and destroy our society and has managed to maintain its connections with other areas of our country. That is why they have always welcomed all parties and organizations that are fighting for the freedom of Kurdistan and are fighting on this basis and have done their welatparêze duty by joining the ranks of the struggle. Also, our society of Rojhilat Kurdistan, which has a deep welatparêzes consciousness, has supported our party, the PKK, from the beginning and handed over its most valuable daughters and sons to the ranks of our party.
Our comrade Aram was born in the city of resistance, Sinê, the son of such a valuable society. However, due to the oppression by the Iranian regime, his family had to emigrate to Tehran and so our comrade Aram grew up there. But his heart has always beaten for our country of Kurdistan. Thanks to the deep-rooted cultural structure of his family, he was able to preserve his Kurdish characteristics and grew up as a welatparêze personality. Our comrade Aram, who returned to his homeland after a long stay in Tehran, has been in search since his youth. He wanted to make sense of the events he witnessed around him and the contradictions he experienced through this quest. He became aware again of the enemy’s policy of genocide against our society and tried to learn about and understand the freedom struggles waged in the past. He also followed today’s struggles closely and looked for how he, as a Kurdish youth, could live up to his responsibility towards our society. As a result of this search, he first got to know our party, the PKK, with the martyrdom of our comrade Sara (Sakine Cansız) in Paris in 2013. Comrade Aram, who became more and more comfortable with reading and researching our party, was particularly impressed by our chairman’s analyzes of religion and Welatparêzî. He also read our chairman’s defense papers entitled “The Defense of a Society” and concluded that the freedom of our society is conveyed through Rêber APO’s ideology. He then became involved in youth work and began to fulfill his duties and responsibilities. He was notable for his willing and enthusiastic participation in any work he participated in. However, he never limited himself to current work, always looking for more combat. He is aware that this is done by joining the ranks of the guerrillas in the mountains of Kurdistan. Our comrade Aram, who was deciphered during his youth work and was wanted by the enemy, decided to join the guerrilla, taking advantage of this situation and in 2015 turned his face to the mountains of Kurdistan and joined the guerrilla. He was notable for his willing and enthusiastic participation in any work he participated in. However, he never limited himself to current work, always looking for more combat. He is aware that this is done by joining the ranks of the guerrillas in the mountains of Kurdistan.
Our comrade Aram, who consciously joined the guerrillas, further increased this awareness through the party training he received. For this reason, he did not find it difficult to adapt to the life in the mountains and in the guerrilla, which he preferred. He participated in the trainings with great enthusiasm and made intense and persistent efforts to be involved in the hot war against the invaders as soon as possible. However, he is aware that this requires both military and ideological competence. On this basis, he stayed with our comrades Şehîd Kasım Engin and Şehîd Helmet for a while, benefiting from their experience, mastery of apoist ideology and dervish life. Our comrade Aram, taking advantage of staying with such valuable comrades, evolved ideologically in this process and achieved the aspiration and determination to be a pioneering fighter. He wanted to delve into the guerrilla work of the new period in order to successfully fulfill his pioneering task in the current war and meet the demands of apoist militancy against the enemy. Based on this, he focused on special training and moved to Avaşîn territory as a professional guerrilla. Our comrade, who distinguished himself in the Avaşin area with his hardworking and self-sacrificing qualities, took part in many actions developed here against the enemy. In these actions, he contributed to inflicting heavy blows on the enemy. Through his humility and genuine sympathy, he earned the love and respect of all his comrades. Our Comrade Aram, noting that the current involvement in the Avaşîn area does not save our Chairman from the conditions of imprisonment and is not sufficient to realize our Şehîds’ yearning for a free Kurdistan, was impressed by the actions and life of our Fedaî- Comrades who were fireballs against the enemy with their actions and concluded that only with this kind of participation can he be worthy of the Chairman and the Şehîds. On this basis, he took part in the activities of Hêzên Taybet in 2019.
With the training he received in Hêzên Taybet, he wanted to develop in the Fedaî line and thus participate in the existing war process. For this he concentrated constantly and made great efforts to put his concentrations into practice. He participated in resistance positions in many areas, especially in Zap, especially against the invading Turkish army’s attacks on the Medya Defense Zones. In this resistance process, in which he participated with great assertiveness and determination, he was a role model for all his comrades with his courage and his perseverance in the fight against the enemy. We, his Hevals, reiterate that we will continue to intensify our struggle, as a dictate of loyalty to the memory of our Hevals, who fought heroically and fell Şehîd in the person of our comrade Aram, without hesitating for a moment in the war against the enemy.”
