BEHDINAN – HPG Press Center stated the following regarding the 2 female guerrillas who were martyred:
“As a result of an accident in the Şehîdan area of Gever on August 19, 2020, a grenade that was from our comrades Sozda and Ciwana exploded and they became martyrs in this incident. The martyrdom of our comrades Sozda and Ciwana, who, with their laboring and self-sacrificing participation in our struggle for freedom, made an effort to protect their term and struggle for a free future for our people, deeply saddened us comrades. We express our condolences to all patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially to the esteemed families of our martyred comrades, for the martyrdom that resulted from this painful situation.

SOZDA BOTAN
Our sozda comrade was born in a patriotic family in the Elbak district of Wan. Our comrade Sozda had the opportunity to get to know our Party from an early age, both because her environment is the area of activity for the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla and because her family is patriotic. Again, her uncle’s joining the guerrilla ranks not only affected our comrade Sozda, but also led our party to seek to get to know the PKK better. She thought that as a young woman, she should also take her place in the ranks of the struggle, because of the intense pressures of the enemy against our people and her insistence on the policy of genocide, and she joined the guerrilla ranks on this basis.
Our comrade Sozda received her first training in the guerrilla ranks in the field of Metîna, quickly adapted to the mountain and guerrilla life with these trainings. She participated in the works with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm, trying to be a competent guerrilla by internalizing guerrillaism day by day. Our comrade, who participated in the studies in the field of Metina for about 3 years, constantly trained herself during her stay there and aimed to deepen in the new period guerrillaism. Again, she always wanted to be on the front line against the attacks of the enemy and she insisted on this. She participated in military training at the academy level in order to become an expert in the new era guerrilla style, became a guerrilla specializing in her branch with her successful participation in these trainings. After completing his education, she moved to the Zap field, she took action against the attacks carried out by the invading Turkish state against the Medya Defense Areas. She participated in the guerrilla actions that instilled fear in the hearts of the enemy soldiers, and came to the fore with his laboring and self-sacrificing character. Our comrade Sozda moved to the Gever area after her practice in the Zap area, continued the same practice here as well, and tried to fulfill her duties and responsibilities as a YJA Star guerrilla at a time when the enemy intensified their attacks with all their presence, which represents an important step for our people and our Movement. As a result of an unfortunate accident due to an inability in the field of Gever, Ciwana Oremar was martyred.

CIWANA OREMAR
Our city of Colemêrg, where the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle met with our patriotic people and has always come to the fore with its serhildans, has been one of the centers that determined the line of resistance in Kurdistan. Our patriotic Colemêrg people followed Rêber Apo’s freedom march and did not back down from the freedom struggle despite all the inhuman attacks of the colonialists. Our comrade Ciwana, who was born in Gever, Colemêrg, to a worthy patriotic family that participated in our struggle, grew up with the resistance culture of the Oremarî tribe, which has strong social ties. Our comrade, who had the chance to get to know the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle from an early age, as a young Kurdish woman, has reached the determination to fight against the attacks, denial and annihilation policies of the colonialist Turkish state.
Our comrade joined the guerrilla ranks and waged an effective struggle with her hardworking and humble personality and became one of our prominent comrades in a short time. Coming from a social structure that preserves its pristine essence enabled our comrade to quickly adapt to the sacred life of the PKK. Our comrade, who won the love of her comrades with her hardworking personality, was based on deepening in the Rêber Apo philosophy by educating herself. Our comrade Ciwana successfully completed the basic guerrilla training in the field of Qendil, prepared herself for the duties and responsibilities of the period with the specialist training he received later. She worked with great determination and willpower in order to complete her revolutionary missions with a superior success, was based on leading her comrades as a young YJA Star guerrilla. Our comrade, moved to the mountains of Gever, where she was born and grew up, took her place in the ranks of the historical resistance developed against the invaders, had a certain participation and aimed to increase his tempo. Our comrade Ciwana was martyred early as a result of an unfortunate accident due to an inability, worked devotedly for our people to have a free future.
We reiterate our promise to be worthy of our martyrs by embracing the legacy of our martyrs’ struggle, walking in the Apoist line, and crowning our people’s cause of freedom with victory.”
