BEHDINAN – In a written statement, HPG-BİM announced the records of the two guerrillas who were martyred in Lice and expressed its condolences to their families and all patriotic people of Kurdistan.
HPG’s statement is as follows:
“The AKP-MHP fascist regime continues its attacks against our forces. On May 10, 2023, an operation was carried out against our forces in the area in the Licê district of Amed. Due to this operation, there was contact between our forces and the invaders, this contact turned into conflict and the area was heavily bombed with combat helicopters. Our esteemed commander Dilgeş Zagros and our comrade Bawer, who sacrificedly resisted the enemy attack and fought to the last breath of our party, managed to become one of the last representatives of the PKK’s resistance tradition, have been martyred. Both of our comrades, who had a breathless and successful struggle, were martyred in May, the Month of Martyrs, and succeeded to become unique examples of Apoist militancy and took their place in the history of our people’s freedom.
We extend our condolences to all our patriotic people of Kurdistan, especially to the esteemed families of our comrades who have fulfilled their patriotic duty by including their most precious children, whom they raised with great difficulties, in the freedom struggle of our people.

Our comrade Dilgeş was born in a patriotic family in the Çelê district of Colemêrg. The family of Comrade Dilgeş has sympathized with our Party since the beginning of our freedom struggle and sincerely believed that our Party will ensure the freedom of our people. For this reason, he raised his children with a patriotic consciousness and in accordance with the essence of Kurdishness. Separating the enemy’s Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla from the people; Guzereş, the village of our comrade Dilgeş, was also burnt down after he put into effect the policies of burning villages in order to assimilate our people thirsting for freedom and to continue the Kurdish genocide. Therefore, our comrade’s family migrated first to Colemêrg and then to Gever. This valuable family, who understood early on that the enemy wanted to expel our people from Kurdistan, insistently preferred to stay in Kurdistan and nullified the policies of the enemy. At the same time, by taking place in an environment where constant struggle is experienced, they preserved their dignity and did not compromise their patriotic stance. Our comrade Dilgeş, who grew up in such a valuable family and environment, naturally had the opportunity to get to know our Party from a very young age. Again, since he was personally exposed to enemy pressure and torture from an early age, he was well acquainted with the reality of the enemy. Our comrade Dilgeş, who sympathizes with the guerrilla like every young person living in Kurdistan, sincerely believed that the Kurdistan freedom revolution would definitely take place, and thought that he should also take part in this revolution process. On this basis, he searched for a certain period of time and believed that he could find the freedom and struggle he was looking for in the Kurdistan mountains in the guerrilla ranks. With this awareness, he returned to the mountains of Kurdistan, where he was no stranger, to join the guerrilla ranks in 2010 and joined the guerrilla ranks.
With the new warrior training he received, he acquired his first knowledge of guerrilla and mountain life, and joined life with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm and became integrated with mountain life in a short time. Our comrade Dilgeş, who aims to constantly train him ideologically and militarily, has insisted on going to areas where hot wars are taking place. He believed that the genocidal attacks against our people could only be countered by raising the Revolutionary People’s War, and he participated in this framework. After educating himself for a long time, he gained great experience in the military sense, and ideologically, under all circumstances, he showed the claim and determination to have a life in Apoist militancy. Comrade Dilgeş, who is ready for his term as a full-fledged militant, took part in the resistance positions against the attacks of ISIS mercenaries against our people and was proud of taking on the defense of our people. Later, he returned to the mountains of Kurdistan and led the historical resistance developed against the invading attacks in the Zap area between 2015 and 2017. Our comrade, who gained great experience in this intense war practice, became a promising commander candidate. Our comrade Dilgeş, who wanted to share his war experiences with his comrades and improve himself in the new period guerrilla warfare, received ideological and military arts training for a while. With these trainings, he learned lessons from his experiences and started to look at war more scientifically. Our comrade Dilgeş, who values the freedom and security of our people above all else, wanted to be there wherever an attack against our people developed. In 2018, he joined the resistance alongside the people of Afrin against the invading Turkish state’s attacks on Afrin. It has never been able to digest the occupation of Afrin and the massacres of our people, and it has intensified to inflict heavy blows on the invading Turkish state. Our comrade Dilgeş, who never accepted defeat thanks to his ambitious character, promised that he would avenge our people and was in search of keeping his promise. Our comrade Dilgeş, who has been operating in the Medya Defense Zones for a while, suggested moving to Bakurê Kurdistan. He believed that success is more possible with a struggle against the genocidal Turkish state in Bakure Kurdistan and Turkey. Again, he thought that the Turkish state, which is responsible for the absolute isolation against our Leader and the fact that our people face oppression and massacres almost every day, should only be answered in a language they understand.
On this basis, our comrade Dilgeş, who moved to Amed area, assumed the task of regional commander. He made a great effort to organize the Revolutionary People’s War in the Amed area and played a pioneering role in the development of many actions to hold accountable for the massacres of the enemy against our people. Our comrade Dilgeş, who won the respect of all his comrades with whom he fought with his hardworking, self-sacrificing and belief in success, reached martyrdom by fighting to his last breath against the operation carried out by the enemy on May 10, 2023. Our comrade Dilgeş, who determined to fulfill the requirements of Apoist militancy as the main purpose of his life, achieved this goal with great resistance and took his honorable place in the history of freedom of our people.

Our comrade Bawer was born in a patriotic family in Erdiş district of Wan. Since he was born and grew up in a natural village environment and acquired the ancient culture of the Serhed region from his family, he has preserved his Kurdish characteristics since his childhood. Since his youth, he has worked in different jobs in many different cities in order to support his family financially, and has had a life kneaded with labor. He experienced many contradictions especially when he worked in the metropolises of Türkiye. The fact that he was constantly exposed to enemy pressure because he was Kurdish, that he witnessed the openly carried out genocidal policies of the enemy, and that he felt the class contradictions deeply caused him to experience these contradictions. Our comrade Bawer, who seeks to overcome the contradictions he experiences and to continue his life in a more meaningful way, He met the reality of Leader Apo and the PKK, and believed that an honorable life can only be possible with the Leadership philosophy. Again, the fact that our people, especially the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, resisted against the genocidal attacks of the Turkish state and did not accept the enemy’s policies, deeply affected our comrade Bawer. Our comrade, who believes that he must fulfill his responsibilities towards our people as a member of this people, has sought to fight. Our comrade Bawer, who wanted to join the Self-Government Resistance that continued in the cities of Kurdistan in 2015-2016, could not realize this request despite his hard work. However, he did not step back from his determination to fight and in 2016 he turned his face to the mountains of Kurdistan and joined the guerrilla ranks. believed that a dignified life could only be possible with the Leadership philosophy. Our comrade, who joined the guerrilla ranks from Amed province, received his first training under war conditions, so he adapted to the mountain and guerrilla life in a short time. He developed himself in the art of guerrilla, especially due to his participation in the freedom struggle from Bakure Kurdistan, under war conditions, and had the opportunity to learn and practice guerrilla warfare tactics in a short time. With the help of his comrades and benefiting from their years of experience, he became a competent guerrilla. Our comrade Bawer, who showed his anger against the enemy with his success in the actions he took, has brought our people a little closer to their hundreds of years old dreams of freedom with every blow he inflicted on the enemy. He succeeded in being a source of strength for his comrades with his courage in the actions against the enemy, his moral participation in life and his sympathetic personality. Again, he felt responsible for every moment of life and war, and succeeded in becoming a leading militant. Our comrade, who is aware that an Apoist militant must develop himself not only militarily but also ideologically, has always based himself on educating himself on the axis of Leadership analysis. With the lessons he learned from life and the information he gained from these analyzes, he not only analyzed his personality correctly, but also reached the power to analyze his comrades with whom he struggled. For this reason, he spent a lot of effort to correct the deficiencies and faults that emerged in his field of work. It has pioneered the elimination of existing deficiencies by operating the criticism and self-criticism mechanism correctly and on time. Our comrade Bawer, who is aware of the reality of martyrs and that he can only be worthy of Leader Apo in this way, expressed this reality in a sad report as follows: I base myself on the struggles and efforts of the oppressed, the Benevolent, the Kemals, the Zîlans, to strengthen the principles of comradeship, to live with the strength I get from the martyrs, as a criterion and principle. I can say that I turned to education in order to struggle against my own old habits, to be worthy of the efforts of Leader Apo for years, and to become an individual of the social reality he aimed.” I base myself on the struggles and efforts of the oppressed, the Benevolent, the Kemals, the Zîlans, to strengthen the principles of comradeship, to live with the strength I get from the martyrs, as a criterion and principle to become an individual of the social reality he aimed.”
Our comrade Bawer, who won the love and respect of all his comrades with his simplicity and honesty in comradely relations as well as his successful practice in Amed, fought in a self-sacrificing manner against the operation carried out by the enemy on May 10, 2023 and joined the caravan of martyrs.
