BEHDINAN – HPG Press Center shared the following information regarding the details of the attacks launched by the invading Turkish army against the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla in the province of Mêrdîn on April 27 and continued uninterruptedly until May 5th:
“The invading Turkish army, taking advantage of the position of inaction of our guerrilla forces, continued its attacks uninterruptedly, especially in Bakure Kurdistan. Annihilation operations against our forces in the province of Mêrdîn were launched on April 27 and continued uninterruptedly until May 5. Our forces in Mêrdîn not only failed and failed the operations developed by the enemy for 8 days, using all war techniques, but also dealt effective blows to the invaders. During the 8-day operation, 8 invaders were punished, 1 invader was injured and our comrade Bahoz Çiya was martyred. The detailed identity information of our comrade Bahoz Çiya, who has been martyred, will be shared with our people and the public later.
The invading Turkish army launched an offensive operation in the Bagok area of Mêrdîn on April 27. At 08:00 on April 28, our forces targeted and hit the two enemy arms that went into operation. In these clashes, which continued from 08:00 to 10:00, 6 invaders were punished and 1 invader was injured. The invaders bombarded the area with attack helicopters. The Turkish army concealed the facts from the public, admitted only 1 loss and talked about the loss of 1 guerrilla. However, we did not suffer any losses in these conflicts.
Against the destruction operation that was persistently continued in the Bagok area, our forces targeted and hit an operation column on April 30 and 2 invaders were punished.
In the ongoing operation, at 06:00 on 2 May, the same area was bombed 4 times with warplanes and for 2 hours with war helicopters. The enemy expanded the scope of the operation by landing many invaders on the field with helicopters. On May 2, there was a conflict between our forces and the invaders, and our comrade Bahoz Çiya was martyred by fighting heroically.
Our forces responded effectively to these attacks, which were launched with the aim of destroying our forces, and our comrades who were martyred in Lokman Görgün and Omeryan, the innocent Kurdish patriots brutally murdered by the Turkish state, were avenged.
Avaşîn region;
During the occupation operation of the invading Turkish army in the Avaşîn region, at 09:15 on 12 May, the invaders who came over the positions were stopped by sabotage tactics. In this action, 3 invaders were punished. The Turkish army again concealed the facts from the public and admitted only 1 loss.
The attacks carried out by the invading Turkish army;
- On May 11, Garê’s Deşta Kafya Area was bombed 3 times by warplanes.
- On 12 May, our resistance positions in Sîda were bombed 3 times with heavy weapons.”
