NEWS CENTER – Peoples’ United Revolutionary Movement (HBDH) Executive Committee, which made a written statement, said, “Just as the growth of the rebellion in Gezi could not be stopped despite the massacres and intense attacks, today no attack is strong enough to stop the accumulated anger from meeting with the rebellion.”
HBDH’s statement is as follows:
“Exactly ten years ago, a new and glorious revolt was committed in the history of the struggle of the oppressed. This time, millions were occupying the squares and streets in Turkey-North Kurdistan with the cries of ‘This is just the beginning, continue the struggle’. Starting from Gezi, the people’s cry of rebellion was spreading in waves all the way to Hatay, Ankara, İzmir, Dersim and Amed. The united action of those who rebelled against the oppression increased the fear of the sovereigns and gave hope to the peoples of the world. The anger that accumulated in the masses against the oppression, intimidation and fear blockade of fascism turned into a tremendous resistance with Gezi. The longing and desire of the oppressed for another world was again expressed through the actions of the oppressed themselves.
With the Gezi Resistance, it was seen what the revolutionary creativity and initiative of the masses were capable of; created communes, neighborhood assemblies, neighborhood forums, etc. organizations have revealed important experiences. Gezi once again showed the importance and necessity of the revolutionary war in overcoming the current system and was a call for the development and expansion of the revolutionary war.
The united action of the peoples showed the importance of the need for a united revolution and assigned tasks to the revolutionary vanguard. Our united revolutionary movement has undertaken these duties and responsibilities and has tried to respond to the demands of the masses and the needs of the revolution. The Gezi Resistance was an important milestone on the way to the establishment of HBDH, and our united revolutionary movement was positioned in accordance with the people’s desire for revolution. Even if decades, not decades have passed, Gezi offered very important lessons to be learned with the experience and experiences it revealed.
As Gezi enters its 10th year, it continues to raise the fears of fascism just as it did 10 years ago. The fascist government is trying to intimidate and frighten millions through the Gezi trials. However, it is obvious at the current stage that all efforts, policies of oppression and suppression, and dozens of massacres have been inconclusive. Just as the growth of the rebellion in Gezi could not be stopped despite the massacres and intense attacks, today no attack is strong enough to stop the accumulated anger from meeting with the rebellion.
Because the masses condemned to hunger and misery, the women murdered every day, the oppressed sexual identities who are not even given the right to live, the Kurdish nation targeted for genocide, the oppressed beliefs, the youth, workers and laborers have not yet forgotten the Gezi Resistance. And they will not forget; In any case, they will remember the power they gained when they united, stood up, and rebelled. They will remember, and they will not remain silent against the oppression that is being carried on with all its fury, they will take their anger to the streets with the determination to win the future, and they will stand against fascism as one body.
Gezi; It is a call for action, resistance, united struggle, organization and revolutionary war against exploitation, oppression, torture, occupation and total fascist siege. Gezi is the will and insistence to win free tomorrows. Today, it is necessary to understand Gezi’s call well and to respond to this call. The main way for this is to develop the revolutionary struggle and to enlarge the revolutionary war. This order cannot be overthrown and the liberation of the peoples cannot be achieved with a struggle that is imprisoned within the borders imposed by the order. The future cannot be earned without paying the price. The struggle and the price paid after the Gezi Resistance are the concrete equivalent of this reality.
Again, years before Gezi, the Sinans, who marched against the enemy with their revolutionary will in the Nurhaks, showed a stance to defeat the enemy today, as they did in their own time, and ignited the fire of rebellion. That fire that has been blended and grown for decades at a heavy price. In order to overthrow this fascist system and ensure the liberation of the peoples, it is necessary to warm the fire more strongly and to put on the spirit of rebellion of Sinan and Gezi.
While we commemorate Nurhak and Gezi Resistance martyrs with respect, we will expand our united revolution struggle as a requirement of our commitment to their memories of struggle, and we will continue to carry the fire of rebellion that they have burned and blended into the strongholds of fascism until the day of victory.”
