NEWS CENTER – Guerrilla Hamiyet Yalçınkaya, codenamed Leyla Amed, was martyred in the clash that took place during the Turkish state’s operation in the Besta region on March 11. Yalçınkaya’s body was later buried in the cemetery of the orphans in the city center. After matching the DNA samples taken from his family, Yalçınkaya’s body was delivered.
The family took Yalçınkaya’s body from the orphans’ cemetery and set off for the Bismil district of Amed on Monday, 22 May. The grave, which was dug before to bury the guerrilla’s body, which was brought to the cemetery in Seyrantepe District, was closed by the police.
After this inhuman treatment, the police cited Yalçınkaya’s registration in the Tepecik District of Bismil district center as the reason. The family took the body of the YJA Star guerrilla to the village where he was born. However, this time Tepecik Mahallesi and the cemetery were besieged by the soldiers.
The soldiers made identity checks at the cemetery entrance and allowed the entrance of those who attended the funeral. The body was buried under the military blockade.
The funeral ceremony was attended by Yalçınkaya’s relatives, Aid and Solidarity Unity and Culture Association with Families Losing Their Relatives in the Cradle of Mesopotamia (MEBYA-DER), Association for Assistance and Solidarity with Prisoners and Convicts (TUHAY-DER), Greens and Left and Future Party (Green Left Party). ), People’s Democratic Party (HDP), and Democratic Regions Party (BDP) members.
