BERN – Kurdish youth, who came together at the Iraqi Consulate in Bern, the capital of Switzerland, at around 11.30 today, are carrying out an act of civil disobedience. The action of the youth, who stated that they did not accept this siege aimed at Mexmur, continues at the Iraqi Consulate with the slogan “Mexmur is the camp of life, against the occupation of life, we will revolt!”
WE WILL NOT DELIVER OUR WILL TO THE STATE OF IRAQ
The youth reacted to the siege of Mexmur Camp with the following words.
“We, the Kurdish youth, will not take a step back. We stand by the people of Mexmur. This is the people’s decision. We will resist here. Like the people of Mexmur, we will not surrender our will. We did not surrender our will to the Turkish state, nor will we surrender it to the Iraqi state. That’s why we’re calling here. This siege, which is also a dirty project of the Turkish state, means the siege of all of us. Resistance to it is living. We will succeed. Rojava, Shengal succeeded, and Mexmur will succeed too.”
On May 20, Iraqi army soldiers attempted to surround the Mexmur Camp with tens of armored vehicles, heavy weapons and construction equipment with wire fences. The people resisted against the siege attempt and repulsed the Iraqi army.
Against the siege attempt against Mexmur, actions and events were held in Kurdistan and in many parts of Europe, and solidarity messages were given.
