BEHDINAN – KCK General Presidency Council Member Sozdar Avesta told ANF about the struggle of PKK Central Committee Member and PAJK Assembly Member, HPG and YJA Star Command Council Member Leyla Sorxwîn (Hamiyet Yalçınkaya), who was martyred in Besta on January 23. Stating that Leyla Sorxwîn was a comrade in the 50-year marathon march of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan for 31 years, Avesta said, “Just as friend Egîd organized and carried out the August 15 Initiative in Gabar, friend Leyla commanded the June 1st Campaign in Gabar. ”
Avesta, which also gave messages about the physical freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the presidential run-off elections that will take place on May 28, said, “To defeat the fascist Erdoğan mentality that combines all forms of fascism such as ISIS, the Taliban, HUDA PAR, and the people of Kurdistan, all the peoples of Turkey. and it is the predominant task of all women. “The overthrow of fascism must be done by the hand of women,” she said.

YJA Star Central Headquarters Command announced the martyrdom of Comrade Leyla Amed, Botan Field Commander, PKK and PAJK Central Committee Member. The martyrdom of Comrade Leyla deeply saddened us, our fellow fighters, all the Kurdish people and our friends, women fighting. I commemorate all the martyrs of freedom with respect, gratitude and respect, especially in the person of the great martyr Leyla Sorxwîn, the commander of the freedom guerrilla, and I bow before the memories of the martyrs. We promise that we will crown the goals, objectives and demands for which they fought, with victory. My condolences to the family of Comrade Leyla Sorxwîn. I sincerely share your pain. Again, in the person of our family, I would like to express my condolences to the resisting and rebellious people of Amed and to all our people. My condolences to Leader Apo and the militant fighters of the Freedom Movement.
BECOME THE Courageous Commander of the Guerrilla
We have known Leyla friend for 31 years. In 1993, he changed his direction from Amed to the Botan region and joined the freedom guerrilla. At a young age, even at a young age, he came to the mountains of Kurdistan with great devotion, courage, a smile that he never lost, and with great love.
Friend Leyla started as a warrior in her 31-year struggle, took on great tasks step by step with her self-power, will, and fighting spirit, and became a leading militant of the Freedom Struggle and the courageous commander of the guerrilla.
Eyes are always looking for friends who are like Leyla friends. He was attached, he was a rebel, he was a resister, he was a comrade to his comrade. In Rêber Apo’s reality and line, he was a symbolic friend, attached to the Leader. Leyla friend has been a friend for 31 years in Rêber Apo’s 50-year marathon line that created out of nothing. She went to Botan three times, she fought in Botan.
LEADING THE JUNE 1 MOVEMENT
In 2003, international conspirators organized liquidationism within our Movement. In this way, they wanted to isolate Rêber Apo on the island of Imrali and to liquidate the Freedom Movement abroad. Comrade Leyla Sorxwîn was one of those who stood and fought heroically against the line of liquidation and betrayal and crowned this process with victory. Comrade Leyla was one of those who heard Rêber Apo’s voice saying “Let the one who loves me give her direction to Botan” and “Even if everyone comes down from the mountain, women should not come down” and did so without hesitation. During the June 1st Campaign, he read these words of the Leader as instructions, turned his direction to Botan with a group of his friends and led the process, and assumed the responsibility of command in Gabar, the land of Egîds.
Leyla was friends with Azimes, Zelaller, Çiçek, Evinler, Nûdalar, Gulbahar and Gulçiya and Peymans. She was their companion. With all this, he took up his duties and responsibilities clearly, sincerely and humbly, along the lines of Rêber Apo.
HE SERVED FOUR PIECES OF KURDISTAN
Leyla friend never knew boundaries. Nothing stood in the way of the struggle. He also served four parts of Kurdistan. From Rojhilatê Kurdistan to the Zagros, from the Zagros to all the mountains of Bakurê Kurdistan, he carried out guerrilla activities in Botan, step by step. She trained hundreds of friends. Especially against the Women’s Liberation Army, she fulfilled her duties and responsibilities both as a warrior and as a commander. Today, if the Kurdistan Women’s Freedom Struggle has become a great hope from Kurdistan to the world, if the women’s revolution in Kurdistan, the Women’s Revolution in Northern and Eastern Syria could unite with all Middle Eastern women with Rêber Apo’s democratic-ecological paradigm based on women’s freedom, and today with the jin jiyan azadi slogan. If the world is moving towards Women’s Democratic Confederalism, if a great women’s resistance and uprising has been going on in Rojhilatê Kurdistan for months, Comrades like her, including Leyla friend, have great effort in this. Friend Leyla waged a great struggle as a freedom guerrilla in Rojhilatê Kurdistan. Under the command of Friend Leyla, Simko and Sarya carried out a body-to-shoulder action with comrades. This was possible as a result of Leyla’s courageous, creative style of action, professional modern guerrilla style. The warriors under the command of Comrade Leyla raised the struggle with courage, devotion and self-sacrifice.
GREAT PAINS CREATING GREAT WAYS FOR US
Today, we see that our people are going through a genocide all over Kurdistan. Rêber Apo is under aggravated isolation. The isolation is being tightened on all aspects. Political genocide is being carried out on our society. Brutal and immoral attacks are carried out on the Freedom Guerrilla with all kinds of modern technological weapons, such as chemical gases, thermobaric weapons, all kinds of nuclear weapons. The Freedom Guerrilla is resisting with great will on the basis of militancy and perspective, with the training it received from commanders like Leyla.
Although the martyrdom of your friend Leyla hurts our colleagues, we are such a movement; -that’s how we learned from Rêber Apo- great pain creates big breakthroughs for us. Our ambition for freedom is getting stronger. Our love of freedom against the fascist misogynist and our commitment to the line of women’s freedom is getting sharper and stronger.
Our great heroes, such as Leyla Friend, Gulçiya, which was announced recently, and Peyman Bagok, Fazıl, Raperîn Amed, Evîn Goyî, whom we have martyred in recent months, have further strengthened our people’s commitment to this struggle. We should know well that as long as Leyla Sorxwins, the people of Kurdistan will never give up their struggle. Along the lines of Leylas and Gulchiyas, we will increase the struggle in every field on the basis of their memories.
WE CAN ENSURE RÊBER APO’S PHYSICAL FREEDOM IF WE DESTROY FASCISM
Especially this year we are living in, they are applying aggravated isolation and carrying out a dirty fascist policy so that the voice of Rêber Apo, who is afraid of his big ideas, who is very afraid of the philosophy of free women’s line and free life, and who defends the freedom of all the oppressed peoples of the region, is not heard. We have not heard from Rêber Apo for 26 months. Special laws are applied on the island of Imrali. On this occasion, I greet Rêber Apo, who is the will of all Kurdistan. I salute this valuable stance, I offer my respects.
Our people are fighting against fascism in every field with great awareness these days. It is aware that there are attacks against the guerrilla, that there is a political genocide against our society, that aggravated isolation is implemented against Rêber Apo with special laws by the hand of international conspirators, and by the hand of the Council of Europe, which is also the leader of this. We know that this isolation is not only carried out by Erdogan-Bahceli fascism. International powers and states are also responsible for this. Dozens of calls were made. Statements were made in front of all institutions from the ECHR to the CPT. Many conferences, workshops and calls were made to break the isolation, but they did not back down from the isolation. Ending the isolation will only be possible with the physical freedom of Rêber Apo. If we destroy fascism, If we break the fascist rule, we can make the physical freedom of Rêber Apo inevitable; societies, we can eliminate the genocide, massacres against women. Like Leyla, we have to finish them off. We must lead the process. We must fight on the line of free women. Leylas sacrificed themselves on the basis of the Women’s Liberation Ideology, on the line of Jineology, which is the science of women.
FACISM WILL BE DESTROYED BY WOMEN’S HANDS
On the basis of this promise we made to Leyla and other martyrs, if there is a breath we take, this can only be achieved by ensuring the freedom of our people and women in the person of Rêber Apo, with the freedom of Rêber Apo. We know very well that; Our people will fulfill their duties. In these moments, these days, they waged a worthwhile struggle. They also used democratic elections as a method of struggle to overthrow fascism. Despite all the tricks and frauds, our people gave a great lesson to the fascist, the holocaust, especially on 14 May. But our work is not done yet. In the coming days, on May 28, there are presidential elections in the second round. I am of the belief that our people and all peoples living in Turkey, democratic sections, women’s organizations, intellectuals, artists and all components of society against fascism will join forces,
On this occasion, I once again call on all of our people, especially the peoples of Türkiye. The people of Kurdistan are fulfilling their duties duly, and they did. But this burden should not be solely on the shoulders of the people of Kurdistan. Not only the Kurdish people suffer from this fascism. All libertarian, democratic forces, all segments in need of equality and freedom must stand up against this fascism. Only in this way can we respond to the era and break the isolation, defeat the oppressors, make freedom possible.
On this basis, it is the primary duty of the people of Kurdistan, all the peoples of Turkey and all women to defeat the fascist Erdogan mentality, which incorporates ISIS, the Taliban, HUDA PAR and all forms of fascism. All women know this very well. The overthrow of fascism must be done by the hand of the woman. This fascism, this mentality is most hostile to women. I believe that the hand of democracy will land on May 28. This is how revenge will be taken on all martyrs, all dungeon resistance fighters and oppressed peoples. The period demands this from us, the moves are organized accordingly. It is a time of freedom, a time of unity. It is time to defeat fascism and grow the unity of the peoples. On this basis, I make the following call; With the spirit of Leylas, Gulchiyas, Fazils, Peymans and Raperins, our people will also fulfill these historical duties.
