NEWS CENTER – First of all, the artist carries a spirit, she keeps all history and sociality alive in his soul. In our struggle, art, war and revolution are the sum of this spirit. The revolutionary is the artist. The creator is the one who works and beautifies. She was devoted with her whole being. It embroiders itself on a work and action, and carries itself to the society with it. Artists who have become the property of society are those who knead themselves in search of truth. That is why they always live and become eternal. Because they have given their songs and poems to the unborn children with the struggle moment by moment. Sometimes if a tone can be the voice of a nation, it is the sound of our reality.
It is our own life tune flowing from the past to the future. We often feel it, we cannot put its meaning into words. When there is a sound that comes from the rebelliousness of the mountains, there we become our own voice, that is, we become the voice of our essence engraved on every inch of the mountain. The voice of the mountain becomes the voice of our country, weaving the joys, pains and anger of a people in the hearts, dancing with the flow of life. Sometimes this sound takes us deep into history. Whatever there is about holiness, it makes us feel. It evokes resistance, rebellion, love and the feeling of eternity. It becomes a lullaby for a child, a lament for a mother, a call to freedom for a revolutionary.
Sometimes this voice is like a mirror of our heart, we see ourselves so plain that it surrounds us with the innocent nakedness of blue. And there are those who fall behind this sound. There are those who set out to find themselves. You know, it hits our heart and makes us feel deeply about reality; The tone in Comrade Mizgîn’s voice, her passion for life, her love for freedom is the name of this reality. Maybe many of us have left behind this sound and hit the road. It was this voice that sprouts the first seeds of rebellion in our hearts. Because the voice of heval Mizgîn became the voice of meaning and truth and found life in the mountains. That is why, as one listens to the voice of heval Mizgîn, she sees the picture of the truth in her inner world.
PIONEER AND COMPANY OF THE FIRST
Of course, it will not be enough to consider heval Mizgîn only as an artist. Because she was a revolutionary, one of the first female commanders and a politician. The struggle and multi-faceted personality of Comrade Mizgîn inherited us gives us the will to fight endlessly. She is a personality who has created herself in every aspect and has made it into history.
Comrade Heval Mizgîn (Gurbet Aydın) is originally from Êlih. She was born in 1962. She met the struggle in the early 80’s. When Egîd (Mahsun Korkmaz) joins the Party through your comrade. She operated in many areas of struggle. While the excitement of revolution was just beginning to sprout, it became one of the germinating seeds of life and took root in the soil. Comrade Mizgîn was one of the first to notice the chains of slavery and to break these chains at a young age.
She is one of the first to break away from the borders of the walls and breathe the free breath of the mountains. Comrade Mizgîn, known for her guerrilla in the mountains, her revolutionism among the people, and her artistry abroad, received many names for her achievements in her life of struggle. In some places, the commander was known as Mizgîn, in some places as Hozan Mizgîn, and in some places as Heval Mizgîn.
Comrade Mizgîn has great contributions to Kurdish music. She is one of the founding members of Koma Berxwedan. She is also among the first female militants to serve at a high level. She is even the first female friend to take primary state responsibility on the country floor. In particular, Ş., who has an important place in our women’s freedom struggle. Comrade Mizgîn was one of the founders of YJWK, the first women’s movement. She is the first provincial female commander and pioneer in Garzan.
Comrade Mizgîn’s versatile, holistic and complete personality, as well as her artistic personality, her creativity in art and her flow reflected in her productions, express the fighting personality of Kurdish women. This sublime spirit, who took his place in the ranks, succeeded to be the cry for freedom of all women and Kurdistan with his voice, is one of the symbolic personalities of our freedom struggle. She is not only a heroine in Kurdistan, she is an art creator and a cultural revolutionary who has succeeded in being the voice of all women. Comrade Mizgîn is one of the first to deeply feel and understand the role and necessity of art even at the beginning of the struggle. She has developed and struggled for this under all circumstances.
She has made us feel with every breath that art cannot be dealt with in isolation from struggle. She expressed the harmony of art, spirituality and mountains with all their beauty. That’s why heval Mizgîn’s voice and color are like mountains. The abstract is similar to its main source. Her spirit, which becomes more rebellious as she fights and flows with enthusiasm, is reflected in her music. She is the one who tells the guerrilla, comradeship, communalism, simplicity and naturalness in his lines most beautifully and simply. It tells us the clarity of village life on the “Ho gundîno ho malîno stra”, the revolution and the sanctity of the revolutionary in the ‘Bête nabe Şoreşger’, how the mother’s heart unites with the land and the country on the ‘Dayê’ stra, and the fact that the smell of soil and the smell of a mother are one. And the feeling in many more lines. It tells us about heval Mizgîn’s heart, essence and determination to struggle. She says that he has many different pieces that she has not had the opportunity to read yet. For example, one of these pieces is “Unity rêket lê lê, ji Botanê. The Czech epic begins as çû Garzanê. It is said that she wrote this piece during his journey from Botan to Garzan.
SOMETHING ONE VOICE CAN AWAKEN A NATION
Heval Mizgîn believed in the necessity of art as much as war in the struggle, and carried out its ideological and philosophical struggle. It is aware that the revolutionary values created can only reach the society through art. For this reason, she took the guerrilla life as a whole and embodied it in her personality. She conveyed all the values, heroism and epics of guerrilla life to the society with her voice. She did this not just by singing, but by fighting. She saw that in order to become a people’s artist, first of all, it was necessary to fight for that people, and showed the revolutionary feelings, pursuits and struggle path of the Kurdish society.
First of all, she lived the revolution to the bone, did not spend a single moment without revolution, without war, and exclaimed by experiencing that the path of true art and artist is through revolution. She did this with her voice, with her gun. We know that Kurdish mothers’ voices are full of pain and lament, sometimes their zılgıt is the revolt of the Rındıxans and Besês, which has become epic in the depths of history, and there is a call for revolution in Comrade Mizgîn’s voice. There is a call to beauty, holiness and creation. It is like the rebellion in the zılgıts of our mothers. Sometimes it is the voice of the lyre, which takes its delicacy from the authentic sound of history. That’s why their tunes are awakening, in every tune there is the anger of millennials, the passion for freedom. Every people has sacred values, fighting for these values and not compromising their own reality requires a price. The Mizgîns were the pioneers of this. They lived by adding meaning to every moment of life and became the pioneer of a people. If the child, young and old sing the same tunes today and see himself, his history and his future in it, it’s called awakening, clinging to the revolution.
EXPERIENCE THE MOUNTAINS IN EVERY PLACE
Comrade Mizgîn goes to Europe with comrade Martyr Sefkan (Celal Ercan) at the end of 1982 to carry out cultural activities. Comrade Mizgîn participates in the establishment of Hunerkom together with Comrade Sefkan. There are various musical works. Especially in the first years of our struggle, it plays a leading role in the institutionalization of cultural and artistic studies. In this process, many productions are produced with the spirit of the revolution. Many songs of Koma Berxwedan, which is still in our language, were released in this process. Comrade Mizgîn, who started to participate in political activities increasingly since 1984, served as a member of the regional committee, regional secretary, European Party Organization Center and Liaison Office, respectively. Again in this process, he is among the delegates of the 3rd Congress, which is the beginning of an important process in our history.
The faces of Comrade Mizgîn’s songs and productions have always been towards the country and the mountains. The source of their quest is the mother lands. She was a comrade who influences the European field with her stance and participation and carries the way of life of struggle to every field. She created great effects in every environment she was in, and established a throne in the hearts of the people and her comrades. It is a great virtue to live the mountain in every place, to run breathlessly, to create one’s own in the heart of capitalism. Comrade Mizgîn is the greatest answer to the question of how to live with the simplicity of nature, even in the midst of capitalism. She has always kept the world of feelings and emotions alive, and has been the passenger of her quests. She is one of those who feel best that art will not be created disconnected from the country’s soil.
After the culture and art studies in Europe reached a certain level, she turned her direction to the mountains again and carried out art and war together. The friends who stayed with Comrade Mizgîn tell a memory: “While Mizgîn was working in Êlih, he went to the countryside for an appointment. Some women from the coaches in the countryside ask Mizgîn friend, ‘Have you heard of the passion, what happened?’ Mizgîn friend asked in surprise, what happened? And the woman answers. Hozan Mizgîn came from Europe, left Europe and came to the countryside. He asks if one leaves Europe and goes to the countryside. Mizgîn friend also; ‘Heval, why shouldn’t people come? To this beautiful nature of Kurdistan, to its water, to its lush green grounds, to its trees, and most importantly to the peaceful people?’”
Thus, while we are talking about the personality of Comrade Mizgîn, whose memory we have learned, we see once again that we cannot deal with the mountain and the country in isolation. Comrade Mizgîn produced by fighting with labor in every area of her life. She tasted guerrillaism at its peak, and it had a smile. One can deeply feel the simplicity of Comrade Mizgîn’s eyes and face, and the search for truth. It is such a quest that it is like running a never-ending marathon. Isn’t art itself not enough? Isn’t this walking towards the goal by always creating more, new and daring? For this reason, we say that Comrade Mizgîn did not deal with art, war, politics and life in isolation from each other. She was able to be the answer wherever needed and became a pioneer militant who trained himself in every subject. As stated by the Leader in this regard, it became the symbol of a complete militant personality.
Comrade Mizgîn, one of the greatest workers in the art of resistance, brought the meaning-laden, mysterious, fascinating, poetic life of the guerrilla together with the society with her spirit, melodies, enthusiasm and joy. She made the majesty of guerrilla life feel to our bones and with this she broke the material life patterns of capitalist modernity and insisted on walking towards a free life. He perpetuated our values with art and literature and became one of the first pioneers of our democratic culture and art movement.
ART AND ARTIST ARE ONE OF THE SACRED VALUES OF THE SOCIETY
An understanding of art that is disconnected from social values is unacceptable. First of all, society does not respect it. The artist is the umbilical cord of the society, when that bond is broken, she no longer belongs to himself, she is the backup and tool of others. Comrade Mizgîn is the answer to those who make art fit within dark walls, treat it disconnected from the values of the people, and emphasize their own personal interests. It is not possible to have an art that is disconnected from the revolution, the soil and the history. Those who do not feel the pain and joy of the society cannot produce, cannot make the art of the society. However, it can be a part of the system and can be added to the system by consuming its eigenvalues.
There are thousands of examples of this. We can say that such an understanding of art can be nothing but the agony of art. This means the suicide, the death of art, of the artist. This is artist blindness and is putting yourself to death. Especially today, when art in Kurdistan is under complete occupation, it is impossible to ignore it. Occupation and genocidal policies towards the field of culture and art are intensifying. The original and authentic Kurdish culture has been tried to be destroyed by assimilation from history to the present. With the invading culture, arabesque and pop culture, the basic values of our people are being seized, and they want to empty the content of art and make life meaningless. Despite all these cultural genocide activities, the martyrs of the culture and arts field in the PKK have given art an identity and left us a huge legacy.
They have crowned the art that is wanted to be corrupted by bringing it together with the real meaning of life. Our martyrs have turned culture and art into an important and ideological field of struggle for the freedom movement. With the values they created, they became a source of morale and enthusiasm for democratic-communal culture and free life. They have engraved the spirituality of the mountains into the depths of our souls with the most beautiful strans, films, plays, paintings and poems. Today, art cannot achieve its main purpose unless we fight with the spirit of real art by protecting these values and heritage. If the aim is to change a society, the pioneers of this should be artists and we should protect the heritage created with blood, effort and great sacrifices.
Otherwise, neither history nor the future will forgive us. If the greatest art is the act of creating people, it is necessary to get rid of an understanding of art that is trapped in the clutches of the current flow and does not exceed the logic of market and trade. It is clear that this understanding does more harm than good. Martyr Mizgîn and his successors made great efforts in the creation of a free country and free people. They did not compromise their artistic and philosophical struggles for a moment, and they lived with the awareness that art is the blood in the main veins of a society.
MIZGIN FOLLOWED THE NOTE OF FREEDOM
A guerrilla’s stage is the mountains, her orchestra is the sound of nature flowing in harmony. This orchestra does not have a conductor, because it flows naturally and is self-sufficient. Each sound is a communal harmony that complements the other. Trees, birds, running water, and small pieces of stone crashing into unruly cliffs are all parts of this harmony. Those who appear on this stage are those who follow the note of freedom. Comrade Mizgîn’s passion for art and her voice did not fit into seven notes and the usual rhythm patterns. She ran after the freedom note with a constant flow and sang his song. Today, many sing these folk songs and lead a new and right life. They beautify life with struggle and present it to the future. The Mizgîns, Yektas and Revolutions taught us how to live and how to fight with the legacy they left us. First of all, we must not forget for a moment that we owe a great deal to our holy martyrs, and we must protect this heritage through struggle. Comrade Mizgîn is the pinnacle of artist and revolutionary sensitivity. It struggled with responsibility and awareness and cost history. If a people embraces Mizgîn, it is because they dedicate themselves to this people with their struggle. Her greatness is the essence and difference of his revolutionary personality. Every Kurdish artist should live and produce this by taking this as a measure. Only in this way can we protect our values and become a real art worker. It is because she devoted herself to this people with his struggle. Her greatness is the essence and difference of her revolutionary personality. Every Kurdish artist should live and produce this by taking this as a measure. Only in this way can we protect our values and become a real art worker. It is because she devoted herself to this people with her struggle. Her greatness is the essence and difference of his revolutionary personality. Every Kurdish artist should live and produce this by taking this as a measure. Only in this way can we protect our values and become a real art worker.
We must make the culture and art understanding of our martyred comrades dominant in every aspect of life. Their principles of life should be the basis of our struggle. In this way, we can be travelers on the path of truth. With these feelings and determination to fight, we once again commemorate Comrade Mizgîn and all our martyrs of art and revolution with respect and gratitude, and we express that we will be the comrade and voice of the freedom note they gave us.
