ROJAVA – The strikes and uprisings, against the pension reform or the mega-pools in Sainte-Soline, inflame the hearts of people in struggle beyond the French borders. Social and ecological struggles are two sides of the same coin. The grabbing of common goods, such as land and even water, the impoverishment of the most precarious and the extension of working hours, are presented as the only possible solutions by the French state to survive the socio-ecological crises. Solutions imposed by the force of truncheons, gas and LBDs, with an outburst in recent months.
In Rojava as in France, we argue that these logics are the source of the problems we face and that it is urgent, vital, to set up other political and productive systems. Through a cooperative and collectivist economy, through decision-making power directly in the hands of the people, through liberation from the patriarchal system. We must build a social network of solidarity and internationalism, to resist the economical pressure imposed on us, reclaim our lives and fuel our revolts.
It is imperative everywhere to abolish patriarchy, the nation-state and capitalism. This is not just a hope for a better world. The struggle is the only dignified, beautiful and full life possible. From the communes of Rojava to the popular assemblies that have emerged during the Yellow Vests movement, new forms of social organisation can emerge at the very base of the population. Their reinforcement by perspectives of autonomy is the passage from an uprising to a revolution.
