PARIS – On the afternoon of April 14, internationalist youth in Paris staged a spontaneous action during a demonstration in front of the Hotel de Ville. During the demonstration, which took place as part of the social protest movement against the pension reform, the internationalist young people, with a spontaneous action, pointed out the massive violence against the protests at the mega-basins in Saint Soline and also pointed out the ongoing war of aggression by the occupying Turkish state the guerrillas and the population in Kurdistan.
With a banner, beacon, flyer and megaphone, the internationalist youth caught the attention of the demonstrators and pointed out the connection between the rising aggression of the state forces in Europe, Kurdistan and worldwide.
The speech, which was held in French, said:
“From St. Soline to Kurdistan – defending the essential good has become deadly
A large demonstration took place three weeks ago near Sainte Soline, a few hours from here. from here. There, rows of people were injured by the police because they tried to prevent the construction of a mega-basin. Mega-pools are used to store water that is withdrawn from the ground, causing rivers and fields to dry up. This is only done so that the water is then available for large corporations. The 25,000 demonstrators in Sainte Soline are resisting this systematic destruction of the land on which they live. They defend their livelihoods, the water, the soil.
But they are attacked by a large police force with military weapons. When demonstrators arrived at the pool and tried to enter, they were fired with tear gas, rubber bullets and concussion grenades until attempts to occupy the pool had to be abandoned – not for lack of fighting spirit, but because so many people were heavy were injured so that the paramedics could no longer help. Two people suffered life-threatening injuries during the demonstration.
At the same time, the Kurdish population in Kurdistan has been resisting the occupation of their territories by Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran for decades. Erdogan’s fascist government is trying to completely wipe out Kurdish society, its culture, language and identity. There is also a lack of water in many parts of Kurdistan because the Turkish state withholds it from them; Water needed for drinking, energy production and agriculture. The forests are drying up because the water table is falling.
The dramatic situation after the February earthquake was used to bomb the guerrilla fighting in the free mountains of Kurdistan to protect its nature and build a free society. These struggles are inseparable and must be viewed as a unit. We are not fighting against a single basin, but against the destruction of the planet, which is only being carried out so that more and more profit can be accumulated.
We are not only fighting to overthrow this destructive system, but so that we can live freely together. State violence shoots at us, beats us and tries to destroy us. The police are getting more violent and the guns are getting more powerful. But their reaction only shows how afraid they are of revolutionary movements worldwide. The protests in France are so strong that state institutions can no longer ensure that they can continue to pursue their capital interests. And the free life being lived in Kurdistan is an inspiration to militants around the world because it shows that life without oppression is possible. We are ready to fight for a sustainable and liberated world and we will not let these fights stop.
We see the violence used against the freedom fighters and the blood on the hands of the state. But we will continue to fight until the liberation of all societies. Sainte Soline, we do not forget, we do not forgive – freedom for Öcalan, peace in Kurdistan”
