HAMBURG – With the initiative of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency, the Organization for the Protection of the Constitution, Hamburg University Rector Prof. Hauke Heekeren prevented the conference titled “We Want Our World Back” from being held in the university hall between 7-9 April 2023.

REQUEST TO ‘INVIDE ATTEMPT’ TO THE MAYOR
Group Co-Chairs of the Left Party, Cansu Özdemir and Sabine Boeddinghaus, also sent a letter to Hamburg Mayor Peter Tschentscher and his deputy Katharina Fegebank requesting that the conference take place on the campus of Hamburg University as planned. Left Party executives asked the mayor and his deputy to take an initiative before the Rector of Hamburg University to lift the ban decision.
