BEHDİNAN – People’s Defense Center (HSM) Headquarters Commander Murat Karayılan spoke to Guerilla TV on the occasion of Leader Apo’s birthday.
Murat Karayılan stated the following:
“Dear viewers of Guerilla TV, I greet you with respect. On behalf of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, we, as the Central Headquarters, celebrate Leader Apo’s birthday on April 4, and offer our greetings and respect. We celebrate Leader Apo’s birthday to all friends, Kurdistan and women, our people and peoples. April 4th is certainly not just one person’s birthday. April 4, Leader Apo’s birthday is also the birth of a new idea, philosophy, and Kurdistan’s march for existence and freedom. It is the birthday of our people, the freedom struggle of the peoples. That’s why our people, Kurdish women, libertarian women see this birthday as their own. This is an appropriate and correct approach. Because the birth that took place on April 4 started a new process in Kurdistan in terms of ideas, thoughts, mobility and struggle.
There have been many serhildans in the history of our people, and these serhildans also had leaders. Each leader has a place in history. However, according to the science of the time, the only leader who can create ideas, thoughts and a new paradigm is Leader Apo. Leader Apo, from the depths of Mesopotamian culture and history, from the culture of the peoples, came to the stage of history with a new paradigm by combining history and today. Leader Apo paradigm offers a new framework to free society, democratic society, women’s revolution and ecological revolution. He made the Kurdish women and the Kurdish people a power and will in Kurdistan. It offered a new option with the democratic modernity it developed against the capitalist modernity. This constitutes a new remedy for all peoples. Therefore, the birth that took place on April 4 has a great meaning for us, our people, peoples and all women. It is right and appropriate to embrace and celebrate.
As it is known, our people are marching to Amara, the village of Leader Apo, to protect and celebrate this day. There were many incidents, obstructions and conflicts in this march. Our people also gave many martyrs. Especially on April 4, 2019, Mustafa Dağ and Mahsum Karaoğlan were martyred. I commemorate these precious martyrs and bow respectfully before their memories. We renew our promise to the martyrs. Our people paid the price, but did not turn from their path. On this basis, owning Leader Apo was perceived as owning himself, he paid the price, but did not take a step back. Leader Apo became an identity and a framework for our people, all forces of democracy and freedom, those who fight for the equality and brotherhood of peoples, and those who act in the name of free women and free society. Therefore, ownership is correct. On behalf of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla, who fought in the line of Leader Apo without hesitation, we would like to congratulate the 4th of April once again to Leader Apo, to all our people, to the women of Kurdistan, and to all who are fighting for the freedom of Leader Apo and Kurdistan in their struggle for freedom.
