NEWS CENTER – PKK Executive Committee Member Duran Kalkan sent a message on the 4th day of the conference, which was held with the slogan “Challenging Capitalist Modernity”, where the thoughts of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan were discussed.
Duran Kalkan said in his video message:
“First of all, on behalf of Leader Apo and our party leadership, I respectfully greet everyone and the audience attending the conference. I would like to thank those who have helped our people who have been under the genocide for a century and who have experienced a severe earthquake disaster in the recent past.
PKK MOVEMENT IS A REVOLUTIONARY MOVEMENT
Undoubtedly, it is true that democratic socialist consciousness is given to societies from outside, and that social awareness and organization are not spontaneous. The historical-society dialectic shows us that this is the reality. Undoubtedly, revolutionary intellectuals carry out this awareness-raising task. The PKK movement is a revolutionary movement, a freedom movement that emerged as such an intellectual-youth movement since 1973 and embodied itself in the form of a leading party.
In the 1970s and 1980s, the PKK tried to play these vanguard party functions in a multifaceted way. However, more political and military dimensions came to the fore, and its ideological-ideological dimensions remained in the secondary plan. In fact, this is not because the reality of Leader Apo and the PKK is like this, but because everyone, like us, all party cadres and our people, sees Leader Apo and the PKK as such. In other words, the functions of president, commander, leader and manager were emphasized. However, the dimensions of thinker, wise, theorist, educator and propagandist are left behind. However, the fact of Leader Apo, as a reality in a dialectical development, still expresses a unity in all these areas, although its initial state is not at its current level. It represents a leadership breakthrough, albeit at a national level. As a matter of fact, when Leader Apo was asked, he stated without hesitation that his most powerful weapon at that time was his tongue. In other words, he wanted to express that he is an educator and propagandist. In fact, he tried to carry out as much political and military struggle as he could by relying on such language power, namely education and organization.
THE THEORETICAL-IDEOLOGICAL DIMENSION HAS BEEN STRONG WITH THE PARADIGM CHANGE
With the paradigm shift realized in the struggle against international conspiracy, this reality has become clearer. Since the PKK ceased to be a state- and power-oriented party and transformed into a democratic-socialist party based on women’s liberation and ecology, its intellectual dimension, thought dimension, and theoretical-ideological leadership dimension became more prominent. There has been a significant change in the definition of the vanguard party. According to the previous paradigm, although the vanguard party dimension partly includes education and organization, it mainly includes administration, political and military administration, but with the new paradigm, this has turned into more education and organizing. The PKK has also experienced the radical change it has experienced in the definition of leadership. Thus, While he defined democratic confederalism, that is, the political-military sphere as the body of the democratic nation, he defined party leadership as its spirit. He expressed the party leadership as the spirit of democratic society or democratic nation society. That is, his feelings, thoughts and education have been defined as the truth. This is how the change in the PKK emerged with the radical paradigm shift experienced by the reality of leadership. In this respect, we need to understand the development in the form of the leadership movement, the situation where the new leadership is based more on the Leadership. It has emerged in this way with the radical paradigm shift experienced by the reality of leadership. LEADING PEOPLE AND SOCIETY BY LEADING THE NEW WAY
It is very well known that Önder; He who leads, finds a way, draws a way. It is called a leader in Turkish, rêber in Kurdish, a guide in Persian, and every language has a definition for it. President-leader-commander-manager, on the other hand, actually involves walking on the drawn path. Therefore, we need to see the difference between the president-commander-leader-management and the leader-rêber. Rêber finds a way, draws a way, leads. The president-commander-manager tries to walk on this determined path. Rêber, the leader, educates and organizes. The president-commander or the manager administers, manages, rules. Rêber is mainly concerned with the field of mentality. It is based on the power of thought. The president or commander essentially refers to the political-military power. In this respect, while the president-commander or manager is elected or determined by the political-military power; Leader is adopted by people and societies as a power of thought. So he joins it. It is not possible to become a leader by election, therefore by political and military power. One becomes a leader with intellectual power, ideological power, creating a new life, and showing people and societies a new way.
Leadership has been expressed in developments as prophetic, wise, philosophical, social scientist since history. Since the beginning of the history of class civilization, there has always been a command as a military power, a presidency and an administration as a political power. These are often portrayed as one and the same. In fact, capitalist modernity liberalism tries to present the president, commander, and administrator as more democratic, and the leading leadership as if it is a more dictatorial approach. This is a profound distortion of the liberalism of capitalist modernity. Such a situation has nothing to do with reality.
ALL OPPRESSED SECTIONS NEED A LEADERSHIP LIKE PKK
We see this clearly and unequivocally with the change in the PKK. While the old-style vanguard party approaches are mostly ruling, ruling and governing; The PKK, which restructured itself on the basis of the new paradigm, is now a pioneer who trains and organizes. It guides, guides and helps individuals and society. It leaves the political administration to the society on the basis of democratic confederalism. It leaves the command to the self-defense of the society, again on the basis of social self-defense. Thus, an ideological difference emerges. In other words, the democratic modernity system anticipates the free individual and democratic commune life against the private-proprietary life of the power and state order. In fact, this difference lies at the root of everything. On the basis of considering the change in the concept of leadership in such a situation, we should also state that pioneering organization is necessary. Yes, it is practice, action, that ultimately determines. But action takes place through organization, and organization through education. In that respect, action cannot take place without an educational and organizing power. The power of action does not arise. In that respect, the new leadership undoubtedly cares about the organization. It is based on organized leadership. When there is a leadership that trains and organizes like the PKK, only revolutionary work can be carried out along the lines of democratic modernity and revolutionary developments can be achieved.
If we do not see the revolution as a spontaneous event or an explosion, but as a lifestyle change with the mentality that a conscious and organized leadership creates by working under all conditions, then we should adopt a leadership like the PKK of all societies, all the oppressed, especially women and youth, workers and workers. It is needed by all the oppressed groups, especially the working people. Because they need revolutionary change. It needs salvation. It is clear that this will happen on the basis of the theory of democratic modernity. The force that puts the theory of democratic modernity into practice is a pioneer like the PKK. Therefore, leadership in the form of the new PKK is necessary for all the oppressed, especially women, youth, workers and laborers. It is as important as bread and water. It is vital.”
