HPG stated the following regarding the details of the attacks against Bakure Kurdistan and Medya Defense Areas:
“On April 25, 2023, the Turkish army attacked two of our comrades who were on duty in the rural area of Ebex district of Wan. Our comrades Ekin and Rosîda responded to protect themselves against the enemy attack, the conflict ensued and both of our comrades fought selflessly until their last breath and reached martyrdom. Our comrades Ekin and Rosîda, the leading militants of our Women’s Freedom Struggle, have succeeded in taking their honorable place in the history of freedom of our people as exemplary Apoist militants, with their insistence on freedom and their noble stance that does not bow to the enemy. As their comrades, we promise that we will raise the struggles of our comrades Ekin and Rosida, with the awareness and responsibility of being worthy of them, and realize the dreams of Free Leadership, Free Kurdistan, for which they are fighting.
We extend our condolences to the esteemed families of our comrades Ekin and Rosîda, the patriotic people of Serhed and all the people of Kurdistan.

EKIN RIZGAR MALAZGIRT
The patriotic people of Kurdistan, who have been subjected to the attacks of the invaders for decades; has become the target of assimilation, denial and annihilation policies. Our people, who were divided into four parts by artificial borders and forced to migrate from the ancient lands where they lived, have become almost in need of bread. Despite all these inhuman attacks, the insurgent people of Kurdistan have never compromised their honorable way of life. With our historical freedom resistance initiated by Rêber Apo, the reality of free Kurd and Kurdistan has emerged again and gloriously, and our people’s hopes for a free future have blossomed. Our people, who had to migrate to Kurdistan and the metropolises of the Turkish Republic, met the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle with great excitement and enthusiasm, and greeted Rêber Apo and our party PKK with serhildans. The unmatched resistance of our people, who resurrected with the PKK and joined the revolutionary struggle with great passion, went beyond Kurdistan and the Middle East and responded to the longing for a free life of all oppressed peoples, women and youth. Armed with the spirit of victory of the PKK and turning every place it is into a center of resistance, the revolutionary created by our patriotic people has been transferred from generation to generation, and the valiant sons of our people have always flown into the ranks of the struggle.
Our comrade Ekin, was born far from the holy lands of Kurdistan in a family that was originally from Mûş-Milazgîr, had to immigrate from Turkish metropolises to İzmir due to the pressures of the colonial Turkish state, and was dominated by a patriotic resistance culture, grew up with the ancient resistance tradition of Serhed. Despite being born and raised far from the country’s lands, our comrade Ekin, who grew up without breaking away from the ancient Kurdish culture and closely following the freedom struggle of our people, did not remain indifferent to the suffering of our people and developed the will to fight from an early age. Our comrade, who, as a young Kurdish woman, sees the reality of the system’s ignoring the female identity, enslaving it and making her weak, experienced its first contradictions against the system and brought to consciousness the fact that real freedom is possible with the philosophy of Rêber Apo in the face of the attacks to destroy the existence of our people. His brother’s joining the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla in 2014 paved the way for our comrade Ekin to follow our struggle more closely and actively engage in the struggle. Our comrade, defines joining the guerrilla ranks as her biggest dream since childhood, she did not betray her childhood dream and joined the guerrilla ranks in 2015 from Serhed, which she longed for, as a seeker for an honorable life. Her brother’s joining the ranks of the Kurdistan Freedom Guerrilla in 2014 paved the way for our comrade Ekin to follow our struggle more closely and actively engage in the struggle.
Despite growing up in the center of the colonial Turkish state, our comrade Ekin managed to preserve her Kurdistani essence and natural personality, had no difficulty in adapting to the sacred guerrilla life. Our comrade, who successfully completed her basic training by moving to the Medya Defense Areas, later moved to the Zap area and carried out his first guerrilla practice. Our comrade Ekin, who adds strength to every environment he is in with her hardworking, honest and enthusiastic personality and established strong bonds with her comrades, has been one of our comrades who developed early and took responsibility in the ranks of the struggle. To enrich the practical experience of our comrade Ekin, who practiced in mobile teams in the field of Zap for two years, participated in many actions and dealt heavy blows to the invaders with her comrades. She received sabotage training on the basis of deepening ideologically and specializing in the military as a leading female guerrilla. Our comrade later received an Academy education, developed a strong ideological dominance by deepening in her philosophy, and became a qualified YJA Star militant who responded to the needs of the period by becoming a commander. Our comrade Ekin, who deepened in the military field and specialized in many weapons, had a great insistence to carry out guerrilla activities in Bakurê Kurdistan, especially in Serhed, which she had a great longing for, and had the chance to engage in guerrilla activities in Bakurê Kurdistan. On July 9, 2016, Wan’ Our comrade Ekin, who stated that his main goal is to embrace the struggle of all our martyrs in the person of Martyr Delil Memani (Bilal Altıntaş), her uncle’s son, who organized a sacrifice action against the colonialist Turkish army’s police station in Erdiş district of Istanbul and punished many invaders, and walked in the footsteps of the bodyguards with her struggle and resistance. Comrade Ekin, who personally embodied Serhed’s resilient Kurdish woman identity by integrating Rêber Apo’s free woman line, has successfully fulfilled her leading role in life and war as a pioneer YJA Star militant. Our comrade Ekin, who displayed a historical resistance against the invaders and fought devotedly to the last drop of her blood, has proved that he is a comrade of Zîlan and the Bêrîtans through her struggle.
The legacy of struggle left behind by our comrade Ekin, who devoted his life to the free future of our people and marches on the victory line of the PKK and PAJK, will always enlighten us.

ROSIDA BAWER
Erzirom, one of the resistance cities of Serhed, has been one of the important centers of the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle from history to the present. Since the beginning of the 20th century, when the genocidal system against our people began to form, it continued its struggle for freedom despite all kinds of oppression and massacres, and increased its struggle against the PKK, which emerged under the leadership of Leader Apo and became the hope of freedom for all of our people. Despite all the special war policies of the enemy, assimilation and genocide practices, our patriotic people of Erzirom, who are in search of a free life by insisting on their Kurdishness, insisted on this stance at a great cost, and today, by maintaining this stance, it gives the necessary answer to the enemy.
Our comrade Rosîda was born in a family with such a deep patriotic tradition. Since her family was patriotic and her close relatives joined the ranks of our Party, she recognized our Party from an early age. However, her close relative Comrade Bawer-Feyyaz Güven’s joining the guerrilla ranks not only affected our comrade Rosîda deeply, but also caused him to enter into a certain period of concentration and search. Witnessing the enemy’s attacks against our people with each passing day, the enemy’s resolution of the genocidal system, and the fact that our people increased their struggle for freedom in many areas and paid a great price for this cause accelerated the search of our comrade Rosida and enabled her to reach the determination to fight. As far as enemy pressure, the traditional approaches of the society towards women and the insistence on keeping the woman in the status of a slave were another factor that influenced our comrade Rosîda’s quest to struggle. The martyrdom of our close relative, Comrade Bawer, and the increase in the genocidal attacks and massacres against our people every day enabled our comrade Rosîda to participate in the struggle decisively. Our comrade, who sees the guerrilla ranks as the most effective field of struggle, joined the guerrilla ranks in 2015 and preferred freedom.
When she joined the guerrilla ranks, she experienced great enthusiasm and excitement, and embraced guerrilla and mountain life as if he were born again. Our comrade Rosîda spent every moment in the guerrilla educating herself, succeeded in becoming a pioneer militant by creating important revolutions in her personality. With the revolutions she created in her personality, she has taken firm steps forward to reach the identity of a free woman, freed from the traditional features of the system and society. With the ideological training he received, the people began to know our reality more closely, and became conscious of the historical hostility of the genocidal Turkish state towards our people. Therefore, she has succeeded in transforming her participation from emotional to more conscious participation. The enemy has carried out extensive attacks, In a process where our people wanted to eliminate their gains, it wanted to develop itself in the military field in order to respond to enemy attacks and to protect the gains of our people. On this basis, she successfully completed her training at the military academy, which she started in 2016. Comrade Rosîda, who came to the fore with her hard work, curiosity, desire to learn and unique effort during this educational process, gained the trust of her comrades and remained in the academy as a trainer. She personally took care of the education of dozens of her comrades in the training activities she took part in for about 3 years, and she had a great effort for the military and ideological development of her comrades. In this process, our comrade Rosîda did not neglect to educate herself, and became a competent YJA Star guerrilla with her military and ideological concentrations. She was constantly striving to increase her struggle, has determined to go to Bakurê Kurdistan as one of her most important goals. Thus, she felt that she would be closer to our Leader. She has made it his biggest dream to ensure the physical freedom of Leader Apo and to be together with our Leader, even for a moment, and she was aware that realizing this dream requires self-sacrificing participation. Our comrade, who received ideological training at the Martyr Bêrîtan Free Women’s Academy in 2019, experienced deep concentrations with her female comrades during this training period, continued the freedom march as a confident, strong and brave militant who made the principles of free women a personality trait. Our comrade Rosîda, who continued her insistence on going to Bakure Kurdistan during the academy process, was successful in this insistence and went to Bakure Kurdistan.
Our comrade Rosîda returned to the Serhed lands where she was born, as a free YJA Star militant with a gun in her hand, has made it one of her top priorities to hold the genocidal enemy to account for decades, and on this basis she has fought with an unstoppable pace. On April 25, 2023, in the conflict with the enemy in the Ebex area of Wan, she showed her anger and resentment against the enemy with her resistance, and succeeded in taking the revenge of our people. After long-term clashes with the enemy, she fought until her last breath, in accordance with the PKK’s tradition of resistance, and was martyred together with our comrade Ekin. Our comrade Rosîda, who shares the beauty of her heart with her comrades in every environment she is in, and is a leading YJA Star militant with her honest, simple and unwavering participation, left a successful struggle behind.
