BEHDINAN – HPG Press Liaison Center (HPG-BİM) commemorated the guerrillas codenamed Dilgeş, Reşit, Harun, Mazlum and Xebat who were martyred in Metina in April 2019. In a written statement, HPG-BİM said, “Our comrades Dilgeş, Reşit, Harun, Mazlum and Xebat, the leading militants of our people, were martyred in the enemy attacks on the Metîna area on April 26, 2019.”
The statement continued: “These heroic comrades, who took on important duties and responsibilities in the most difficult times to carry the freedom struggle of our people to victory, achieved important successes with their struggle. Our comrades Dilgeş, Reşit, Harun, Mazlum and Xebat, who are Apoist militants that will be taken as an example by all their comrades with their clear stance and unwavering participation in the struggle, will continue to lead us with their martyrdom and will always continue to be our reason for victory.
On the anniversary of their martyrdom, we commemorate our heroic martyrs Dilgeş, Reşit, Harun, Mazlum and Xebat with respect and gratitude, and express our condolences to all our patriotic people, especially their valuable families.”

Our comrade Dilgeş was born in Gever, which is symbolized by his patriotism and serhildans. He grew up in a patriotic family environment, aware of his social identity and with the ancient culture of Kurdistan. Comrade Dilgeş, who became aware of his social identity at an early age, grew up as a quintessential Kurdish youth. He studied until university and won the department of business administration. He searched for ideas in the university environment, and with his patriotic feelings, he read and researched the Apoist movement at the ideological level. Comrade Dilgeş, who was highly influenced by the Apoist ideology and philosophy, decided to become an Apoist militant and revolutionary. On this basis, it first became involved in patriotic revolutionary youth work and then in self-defense activities. He was an active participant with his energetic personality, caught the attention of the enemy early and was detained many times.
In 2012, which represents one of the important turning points of the Revolutionary People’s War, he joined the guerrilla ranks and started to continue his struggle in the mountains. He received his new fighter training in the Medya Defense Zones, learned the basic principles of guerrillaism and joined the Party life. Comrade Dilgeş, who has a certain knowledge, revolutionary consciousness and high willingness to participate, made rapid progress. He joined the struggle against the gangs in 2013, when the mercenaries left by al-Qaeda heavily attacked our oppressed people in Rojavayê Kurdistan and the epic resistance was displayed in Serêkanî. Comrade Dilgeş, a revolutionary who cannot fit into his container, quickly became involved in the resistance process, rushed to the aid of our people in Rojava, and played a role in repelling the genocidal attacks that were intended to be carried out by the gangs.
Comrade Dilgeş, who is never content with the current participation and small successes, always focusing on achieving greater success on the basis of the Apoist line, has focused on improving himself ideologically as well as his military successes. He has been involved in sensitive military work to increase his level of participation and bring more benefits to our struggle. He participated in these studies wholeheartedly and made great efforts to have a walk in the line of sacrifice. It has proven itself with its stance, participation and practice in these studies, which require ideological equipment, organizational experience, strength of theory, creativity, deep secrecy and great determination. He gave his right to work in every field he went to, and became the owner of an accelerated march that attracted the attention of all his comrades compared to his age and the years he participated in the revolution. Comrade Dilgeş, who gave high confidence to all his comrades with his participation and stance, and won the love and respect of his comrades, turned his face to Bakurê Kurdistan in 2017. Comrade Dilgeş, who had a dream of being a guerrilla in Bakure Kurdistan for years, moved to Botan with the joy of having achieved his biggest dream. Comrade Dilgeş, who knew the Botan field quickly, got used to the Bakur guerrilla and adapted to the works, became as active as an experienced guerrilla of Botan. The Kurdish people showed a great reaction to the village guard system developed by the colonialist genocidal Turkish state to separate the Kurdish people and the guerrilla from each other and to de-Kurdish Kurdistan. Because the family and villagers of our comrade Reşit Serdar did not accept the dishonorable village guard, their villages were brutally burned by the Turkish state and their villages were evacuated. Therefore, the family migrated to Amed in 1994 and settled down. This is why our comrade of age grew up in Amed, in an environment where Kurdish consciousness and patriotic feelings were intense. Together with his family, he both carried out economic studies and studied. Since our comrade of age is a Kurdish youth who has been persecuted by the state since the day he was born, he is aware of his social identity, It has reached the consciousness of the suffering of its people and the determination to fight against them. Comrade Reşit, who stepped into guerrillaism in Zap, received his first training and gained experience here. After gaining experience in guerrilla, he focused on military tactics to specialize, for this he was trained in the Martyr Mehmed Goyî operation school and became an expert guerrilla. Comrade Reşit, who later became involved in the works within the Central Headquarters, participated in the sensitive works here by handling the sensitive works with great care and seriousness. Aiming to be an expert guerrilla and a competent revolutionary, Comrade Reşit devotedly participated in order to be successful. Comrade Reşit, who aims to live every moment of his life to the fullest, and tries to do his best with great effort and effort on this basis, has always felt indebted to the Leader and his people. He always stated as a self-criticism that he could not become fully competent in the Apoist line ideologically, and tried to deepen in ideology and organizational line. He did not consider his achievements in the practical field to be sufficient for himself, and always aimed to achieve higher achievements. I state that the organization is ready for any task that it puts before me, and for these tasks everywhere.”
Comrade Reşit participated in the works with the love of struggle, enthusiasm for the revolution and a sense of duty, and assumed responsibility in his fields. He led his comrades with his practical intelligence and hardworking personality. He never accepted to stop and fall back and always took a forward walk as a basis. While he was on duty with such participation and responsibility, he died as a martyr together with a group of his comrades as a result of the enemy attack on April 26, 2019. Our comrade’s dream of realizing a free life with the Free Leadership in Free Kurdistan, for which he devoted his whole life, will definitely be achieved by us, his comrades, and his memory will always be kept alive.
The Kurdistan freedom struggle, which developed under the leadership of our party PKK, showed its effect in the field of Serhed in a short time, and our people of Serhed, thirsting for freedom, were bound by unbreakable ties to our Party, where they saw the hope of freedom. Our comrade Harun was born in a patriotic family in Qereyazî, one of the important resistance centers of Serhed. Comrade Harun also had the opportunity to get to know our Party from an early age, as his family, relatives and the environment he lived in were patriotic. Our inquisitive comrade, Leader Apo, conducted research to get to know and understand the reality more closely. During these researches, he got to know the reality of the enemy closely. Moreover, he felt great anger at the inhumane practices of the enemy against our people and our martyred comrades. For this reason, he thought that there would be no other option but to fight against this genocidal enemy, and he went into search.
Comrade Harun, who joined the guerrilla ranks from the Erzirom area in 2015, when our struggle was the most intense and the enemy attacks were developing with the same intensity, later moved to the Medya Defense Zones and started to see his first inclination in the guerrilla. Our comrade, who was greatly affected by the magnificent nature of the Kurdistan mountains, adapted to the guerrilla and mountain life day by day, and set an example for all his comrades with his enthusiastic and morale participation. Despite his young age, he took every work he took seriously with his mature personality and did not accept any measure other than success. Our comrade, who moved to the Metîna area after his education, practiced here until he was martyred. Comrade Harun, who takes part in many studies that require discipline, reliability and commitment, has not failed the trust of his comrades with his successful practice. With his high work pace and sharp intelligence, he has a practice that is equivalent to his pioneering mission in the studies he took part in. Our comrade, who has determined to develop ideologically and militarily as his top priority, has succeeded in becoming an integral Apoist militant by creating significant changes in his personality with his concentration and effort. The martyrdom of his uncle’s son, Comrade Elî Dirêj, who was influential in his participation in the guerrilla in 2017, not only deeply affected our Comrade Harun, but also increased his anger towards the enemy. Comrade Harun, who is aware of the fact that in the person of Comrade Elî Dirêj, devotion to the martyrs and keeping their memories alive, is only possible by raising the struggle, on this basis, he led his comrades with whom he works by increasing the pace of participation.

With his selfless and modest participation in his new field of work, he gained significant experience in a short time and became a promising militant. Our oppressed comrade was born in Colemêrg in a family belonging to the patriotic Giravi tribe. Since his family and close circle are patriotic and the region he lives in is one of the important resistance areas of our struggle, our party recognized the PKK in its childhood. Again, due to the fact that the freedom guerrilla lives in the areas of active struggle, he admired the guerrilla and made it his biggest dream and goal to join the guerrilla and become a militant of our people’s freedom struggle. Our comrade, who raised this goal and dream with himself, actively participated in the struggle when he came to his youth. He wanted to increase his struggle even more because he witnessed the genocidal practices of the enemy against our people and felt the occupation of the colonial Turkish state in Kurdistan in every cell. Our comrade, who knows that this is possible by participating in the struggle in the ranks of the guerrilla, has embarked on such pursuits. Our comrade Mazlum was affected by the participation of his close relatives, especially his uncle’s son, Martyr Çekdar Giravi – Sezer Emre, in the guerrilla ranks.
