MARSEILLE – Thousands came together with the call of the Marseille Democratic Kurdish Community Center (DKTM) and gathered at Canebiere Square at 13.00. The entire crowd gathered here took their place in the cortege with “Liberté Pour Ocalan” banners. In the front, mothers of martyrs and guerrilla “Azadî Ji Bo Ocalan” started the march with multilingual banners reading “Liberte Pour Ocalan”, “Freedom for Öcalan” and “Free Ocalan”. The crowd continued their march from Canebiere Square to the front of the Marseille Representation of the European Parliament.
The rally planned here started after a minute of silence and a 5-minute sit-in. In the speech made on behalf of the Marseille DKTM, Düsseldorf hailed the actions taken for the freedom of Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan in Europe and all over the world. – It was emphasized that it is historically important for the people to come together around Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan in this historical process.
After the speech on behalf of DKTM, KONGRA GEL Co-chairman Remzi Kartal took the floor. Starting his speech by mentioning the historical process of the conspiracy and the struggle to nullify the conspiracy, Kartal said, “The conspiracy they want to carry out has suffered an unforgettable defeat in the face of our historical resistance and the will of the Leader.”
‘WE ARE CONCERNED’
Expressing that the Kurdish people are worried during the isolation process that has lasted for two years, Kartal continued as follows; “Leader Apo has not been allowed to meet with anyone, including his family, for 2 years. We have serious concerns about this. We have to say this openly, the brutal and murderous policies of the Turkish state against our people are being carried out against Leader Apo. Everyone needs to know this. We, as the movement and the people, are concerned about the life and health of Leader Apo.”
‘THEY ARE FEAR OF ABDULLAH ÖCALAN’
Kartal continued: “The isolation against Leader Apo is related to the Turkish state’s policy towards the Kurdish people. The Turkish state carries out this policy not only in Bakure Kurdistan but also in four parts. Depending on the freedom movement, he wants to break this will. For this, he is carrying out a brutal massacre. All Kurdish representatives elected through political and democratic means have been imprisoned. And in such an environment, it wants to prevent the ongoing process in the Middle East, in the name of Rojava, in favor of the Kurds. Turkey seeks to end the image of the Kurdish and freedom movement, which is positive all over the world. In parallel with this, it wants to intensify the isolation on Leader Apo. Because the state is afraid of Leader Apo’s thoughts. Whatever the process, Leader Apo develops projects and plans according to the conditions of the day. Sometimes a word makes a big impact on the process.
‘LEADER APO IS NOT THE ORDER’
Emphasizing that Abdullah Öcalan is not an ordinary prisoner, KONGRA GEL Co-chair Kartal said, “The Turkish state does not even apply its own laws and laws against Leader Apo because he is not an ordinary prisoner. If he was a normal prisoner, he would have the opportunity to meet with his lawyers and his family. For Önder Apo “He is being held in Imrali with a special law enacted. The state carries out the isolation against Leader Apo as a psychological war against the Kurdish people,” he said.
‘GREEN LEFT WILL BREAK THE METHOD ‘
Noting that the isolation on Abdullah Öcalan can only be broken through struggle, Kartal said, “The freedom of Leader Apo depends on resistance. With the increase of resistance and struggle by our people, they are forced to sit at the table with Leader Apo. Our people sent the fascist chief Erdoğan on 14 May. “Everyone will see when the Green Left Party doubles its votes. For this reason, our people should know that this election is not an ordinary election. All our people should approach it with the spirit of Leadership, and work for the Green Left, house by house, street by street,” he said.
‘WE HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE THE TRAVELS’
Finally, Kartal said: “Every sector that carries out politics in Turkey has to see the forces of democracy connected with the Kurdistan Freedom Struggle. On this basis, we are in a position of power that changes both the social mentality and the state system. Even if the Nation Alliance comes, we will be in a struggle to force, change and transform them. We must prepare ourselves for these. Within this necessity of change, there is an absolute obligation to apply to Imrali and open its doors. This state system -without separating the parties- wants to continue its policies on the Kurdish question as long as it has the means. But now he can’t. It’s now in a big blockage. We say; At this point, the state has no chance to sustain itself with the old policies. With the Green Left, we have the power to change this whole course.
