NEWS CENTER – On 21st of March Newroz day, youth from Tevgera Ciwanen Soresger (TÇS) and Tekojin organised a newroz celebration at the Kurdish community centre in London. The event begins with two members from TCS inviting everyone for a minute of silence for all the martyrs. Then a cinevision was presented where the youth watched Reber APO talking about Newroz and it’s importance and meaning for Kurdish people.
After speakers are invited: Agit Amara spoke on behalf of TCS, a member from Scotland youth spoke on behalf of the Scotland youth, Ali poyraz spoke on behalf of the Kurdish people’s assembly and Sivan heval spoke on behalf of KCDK-Basur.
The Hall was decorated with PKK, KCK, HPG and YJA-Star flags and also had massive posters of Mazlum Doğan, Paris Martyrs and Reber APO. Slogans such as Biji Serok APO, biji berxwedana gerila and sehid NAMIRIN were constantly said.
This year’s Newroz event is dedicated to the artist Mir Perwer, who was martyred in the Paris massacre on December 23, 2022. Koma Zelal took the stage first at the youth Newroz the drums were played where the youth began govend. Later on Zozan Zudem and Omid Sharifi also took the stage.
Like every year this year a fire was lit in the garden at the Kurdish community centre, the youth gathered around the fire and continued to do govend and also jumped over the fire. The “Cerxa Sorese” anthem was also read by TCS member around the fire.
