BEHDINAN – YJA Star Central Headquarters Command, in a written statement on the occasion of March 21, Newroz Day, stated that Newroz is the name of insistence on free life. The Newroz message of YJA Star, which calls on the fire of freedom, is as follows:
“We welcome Newroz in these mournful days when our people are going through destruction and suffering great pains. Knowing that the true meaning of Newroz is not just a holiday enthusiasm, but an insistence on resistance and a free life, we believe that our people will bring this year’s Newroz together with its real meaning, raising hope and raising the resistance. We congratulate our Leader, who represents the true spirit of Newroz, and all our martyrs of the revolution, especially our grieving people, and we promise that we will avenge all the pain inflicted on our people, that we will not leave the blood of our martyrs on the ground, and that we will ensure their physical freedom by overthrowing the torture system imposed on our Leader.
We carry in our hearts the pain of thousands of people who had to lose their lives in rotten, baseless buildings and piles of rubble due to the state’s rent policies. We know that the state has collapsed on thousands of our people, not iron and concrete heaps. It is the massacre experienced in the last earthquake and flood disasters, it is a systematic genocide. It is clear that this is a very conscious policy of state genocide. Although it is certain that earthquakes and natural events can be determined long ago, when science and technology are so advanced, no precautions have been taken in earthquake zones until today. On the contrary, it was allowed to build graves instead of roofs on the heads of our people with cheap workmanship and fake materials. Mostly poor, Alevi, Turkmen, Arab, As if the suffering of our Kurdish people in the earthquake was not enough, they also faced flood disasters brought about by the destroyed infrastructure. The AKP-MHP fascist government has put into effect the policy of harassing our people, leaving them helpless and needing them, by not consciously intervening in these regions, delaying their intervention, preventing those who want to intervene. The AKP-MHP fascism, which has plagued our people for more than twenty years by exploiting every value that comes its way, has this time sought to collect rent from the desperation and suffering of our people. In the face of this, the law we need to do is not to sink into despair and despair, but to rear up with the renewing power of Newroz. We must stand up and resist in the spirit of Newroz, turn our mourning into rebellion, our losses into success and victory.
Just as Arabs, Persians and Kurds joined hands and defeated the oppression thousands of years ago in the face of the oppression of the Dehaks, today Turks, Kurds, Arabs, Alevis and Sunnis must stand hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder, back to back to defeat this fascist oppression. Newroz is the victory day of a people who saved their dignity. Newroz is Sara and Rûken, who explode in the minds of the enemy and struggle to liberate their people, against the oppressors who try to enslave a people. Newroz Amedten, Avaşîne, Zapa from Deêsîm, Botandan, Heftanine is the anvil of freedom in the hands of the guerrilla resisting the fascist colony spread all over Kurdistan. Newroz is the torch of freedom for women shouting ‘jin, jiyan, azadi’. Newroz is the light of hope that shines brightly in the bodies of Veysi Aktaşlar and Mehmet Akarlar. Our people have won these days with the relentless struggle of our leadership for fifty years, the blood of thousands of our martyrs, and the relentless resistance of our people. A people’s freedom revolution took place with the guerrillas who sacrificed themselves, the freedom slogans of women echoing in the streets, the old and the young who do not hesitate to burn their bodies. Our people have endured all difficulties, sacrificed their most beautiful sons for the sake of freedom and had the honor of celebrating Newroz with millions. Now, a Kurdish Freedom Movement that leads the women and oppressed peoples of the world and its people living in its honor has been created. From now on, no power can stop the Kurdish women or the Kurdish people. No price paid in Avaşin, Zap, Dersim, Serhad, Qendil and Xakurkê was wasted. The Kurdish people are living the dawn of victory. This Newroz, the sun will rise, humanity will be freed from darkness and we will live freely with our Leader. As YJA Star forces, we promise that we will be the good news of victory on the mountain peaks with the fire lit by our martyrs who became Newroz, with the hope that Sara and Rûkens strengthened.
As YJA Star, we will turn this new year of Newroz, which we welcomed with the claim of Free Leadership, into the year of Leadership. As YJA Star guerrillas, we will be the leading force of Newroz holding the torch of the moments of victory. Under the leadership of YJA-Star women’s power, we will increase our struggle in the line of sacrifice and combine the legacy of resistance we received from the Mazlums, Zekiye Alkan, Rahşan, Ronahi, Berivan, Sema and many other heroes with the legacy of Sara and Rukens, and we will lead them to victory. We call on all of our people to gather around the Leadership Newroz and to ignite the fire of freedom with the slogan ‘Biji Serok APO’, ‘Jin, jiyan, azadi’.”
