BEHDINAN – YJA-Star guerrillas conveyed their messages to the ANF on the occasion of March 8, International Working Women’s Day. YJA-Star guerrillas celebrated the 8th March of all women, especially People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and Kurdish women, and called to protect the values created.
YJA-Star Guerrilla Viyan Avesta pointed out that March 8 signifies the resurrection for them, and said, “Our Leader gave us March 8, so we should base ourselves on renewing ourselves on the basis of female identity and integrating ourselves with the Leader’s ideas.” Stating that the YJA Star guerrillas are leading the war against the invading Turkish army today, Viyan Avesta said, “Even this situation shows the level of a free woman.”
Drawing attention to the leading role of Kurdish women, YJA Star guerrilla Viyan Avesta continued: “The 8 March and the struggle show that women guarantee freedom. Protecting the efforts of Rêber Apo is the most important goal for us. When we saw our presence in the guerrilla ranks, we realized how much willpower and power we had.”

YJA Star Guerrilla Zîlan Firat also stated that Kurdish women were able to celebrate March 8 thanks to Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan’s struggle for women’s freedom for more than 40 years. Zîlan Firat said, “We claim to protect the efforts of Leader Apo and the revolution he created” and noted that it is possible to protect the values created by making the days like March 8 even bigger.”
Zîlan Firat, stating that they want to take part in more war positions as female guerrillas, said, “It means a lot to me to follow in the footsteps of female friends like Sara, Zîlan and Bêrîtan. We must fight to regain what was stolen from us,” she said.
SPRING IS GETTING MORE BEAUTIFUL WITH MARCH 8
YJA Star Guerrilla Narîn Şiyar started her speech by celebrating the 8 March of the guerrillas resisting in the war tunnels with Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan. Expressing that the arrival of spring came together with the colors of women on March 8, guerrilla Narîn Şiyar continued: “Spring gets even more beautiful on March 8. The architect of women’s quest for freedom is Rêber Apo, and after we came to these free mountains, we understood the meaning of women’s freedom better. For example, the emergence of Sara, Zîlan and Bêrîvan female friends emerged with the efforts of Rêber Apo. Jin, jiyan û azadi.”
