BEHDINAN – YJA-Star and HPG guerrillas Yıldız Serdar Duraq and Dilxwaz Efrîn spoke to our agency about Newroz. Stating that this Newroz is the Newroz of victory, the guerrillas also pointed to the physical freedom of Leader Apo and said that the physical freedom of Leader Apo will be achieved. The guerrillas called on everyone who wants freedom, especially Kurdish youth and young women, to join the guerrilla ranks.
“We will raise the flame of freedom”
YJA-Star guerrilla Yıldız Serdar Durak touched on the importance of Newroz; “I congratulate Newroz first of all to Leader Apo, to the martyrs of the revolution, to our patriotic people, to our people who have been struggling for freedom for days. Newroz means serhildan and resistance. It started with Zekiye Alkanes, Mazlum Doğanes, Demirci Kawas. We are the continuers of this. Heval Mazlum Doğan raised the fire of his heart with 3 matchsticks for the struggle for freedom, for the Kurdish people and for the sacred lands. We, as the students of Mazlum Doğan and Rehşans, will raise the fire of freedom with our will and the fire of our hearts to continue the struggle of Leader Apo in Imrali prison, in order to make sense of Leader Apo’s ideology and philosophy with Rehşan and Mazlum Doğan.
Because there is a people behind us, a resisting people. Their struggle despite the earthquake, losses and martyrdoms is the greatest will for us, and we take our will from this people and the philosophy of Leader Apo. As Leader Apo’s students, we owe it to Leader Apo to be able to grow the will of the people and represent the people.
Despite the earthquake, the will of the people has frustrated the enemy. The enemy made all kinds of attempts. In Zap, Avaşin, Metina, Heftanîn and the Zagros Mountains, they attacked with chemicals. They came with such an intense technique, yet they could not break the will of this people, the will of the guerrilla. Because we grew up with the philosophy of Leader Apo and the will of Mazlum Doğan. Therefore, no matter how much they attack, they will not be able to break our will. We take our ideology from our leadership and our strength from our people. If the people resist so much, if their children are being slaughtered, if there is an earthquake, and yet they support the guerrilla, this is the greatest will for us. That is why we will resist to the end no matter what. As YJA-Star guerrillas, we will resist with the slogan Jin Jiyan Azadi, which Leader Apo said and spread all over the world with Jina Eminî. Again, our friends were martyred in Avaşin and they said that the blood is flowing like water but we will resist even if our bones remain, and we will resist as YJA-Star guerrillas. We are indebted to Leader Apo. No matter what the enemy does, they will not be able to break the will of the guerrilla. We used to say we were behind our people, but now we are with them. We will resist alongside our people no matter what. The KCK also made a statement and announced that the actions were stopped, but the enemy still continued to attack. We are also fighters and revolutionaries and whenever they attack, we will do our defense.
We do it for our people. To be able to live equally in free lands and to physically bring our leadership together with our people. The year 2023 will be the year of physical freedom of the Leader Apo. That is why we will definitely win this year. This is not propaganda but reality.
Young women should come and get to know life here
This year Newroz is an act of freedom, an act of victory. That is why the sufferings caused by the earthquake will be transformed into the greatest happiness. That is why Newroz has a great meaning for us. The pain of the earthquake is great. Our people went through a great massacre. For us as guerrillas, the pain is great. We share the pain of our people. We take morale from the Newroz fire and the message of our people. I especially call on young women. Young women are subjected to violence all over the world. My call to them is to come and get to know themselves and life. We call it paradise, let them come and see paradise in the PKK. The youth and young women of Kurdistan must join the freedom struggle.”
“The enemy could not take even an inch of land”
HPG guerrilla Dilxwaz Efrîn, after congratulating Leader Apo and the people of Kurdistan on Newroz, mentioned the absolute torture and isolation system developed on Leader Apo. Efrîn then referred to the psychological war waged by the occupying Turkish state against the people and called on the youth to fight for freedom.
“We congratulate the past 50 years of the Newroz of the Leadership, first of all to Leader Apo, the Kurdish people and the peoples of Kurdistan. Newroz is the day of serhildan and defeating the occupation and AKP-MHP. Therefore, we call on all the youth of Kurdistan and the Middle East to join the war for freedom and the guerrilla ranks.
For 2 years there has been no news from Leader Apo in any way. The enemy is using every method so that we do not hear from Leader Apo. The enemy is trying to use every method they can. Young people should do whatever is necessary, no matter where they are, no matter what. The enemy has launched operations against the guerrilla everywhere. He is defeated against the guerrilla. He is using every method. He is using chemicals and everyone is turning a blind eye. It is something that is banned all over the world, but it is still being used against us. He is landing so many troops, but he is still defeated. There have been operations in Zap, Avashin and Metina for a long time. But it still hasn’t taken an inch of land. They fly airplanes and bomb everywhere and then say ‘we killed 50 guerrillas’. These are all lies, there is no such thing.
Friends have taken precautions. It is a war against the people. They are trying to create the perception among the people that there are no guerrillas left. They are waging psychological warfare. It is waging psychological warfare especially to prevent young people from joining the guerrilla ranks and the freedom struggle. What is the duty of the youth? What is the duty not only for Kurdish youth, but for everyone who wants to live free? They can work. Even if they participate in a march, this is an attitude against the enemy. Especially the guerrillas resisting in Zap Avaşin are all young people. Accordingly, young people should join the guerrilla ranks, join the fight for freedom and head for the mountains.”
