NEWS CENTER – In 1972, Mahir Çayan, one of the leaders of the Turkish Revolutionary Movement, and his friends were murdered in a raid in Kızıldere village in Niksar district of Tokat. With the Kızıldere Resistance, a radical revolutionary stance and resistance began for the first time in Turkey, which with the words “We came here to die, not to return” ignited the spark of a resistance that was to last for years.
They called for Turkey’s full independence and campaigned for this in a variety of ways. They wrote the Manifesto of the Revolution in Turkey. The Kızıldere Resistance was a challenge to the oppressors, fascism and oppression. Turkey’s capitalist circles and their supporters, global capital, did not agree with a fully independent Turkey. Turkey had joined NATO, NATO bases were set up all over Turkey and Turkey was indebted to the IMF. Turkey gradually became a satellite of Europe and America. Industry and commerce should be imported from abroad and Turkey should be dependent on foreign countries in every respect.
By joining NATO, indebted to the IMF and developing political and economic relations with America and Europe, Turkey became effectively dependent. The revolutionary youth recognized this and took action. Turkey today faces distorted capitalism, an assembly line industry and a fascist regime. There is a regime that has been working against societies like a murderous network for decades. It is a regime that practiced terrible fascism against the Kurds, against the workers and the poor peasantry.
In recent years, anyone who opposes the regime has become a target for the regime. Kurdistan in particular has become a battlefield for the regime. That is why the greatest resistance is being made in Kurdistan. The heaviest blows are dealt to the enemy in the mountains of Kurdistan. With AKP-MHP fascism, Turkey was led into a complete impasse. The economy was brought to the brink of total bankruptcy. The poor got poorer and poorer.
In seventy years a terrible parasitic class called TÜSİAD (Turkish Union of Industrialists and Businessmen) was created in Turkey, theft, corruption and bribery have become a culture. People have found themselves in a situation where they can no longer claim their rights on the street. Criticism of corruption and theft committed by those in power is viewed as treason and hostility to the state. The capitalist parties, which have ruled the state for years, lived and continue to live in palaces and mansions and regard the institutions of the state as their father’s court.
Because the governments were capitalist in character, they served the agas, beys, corporations, in other words, the rich. The governments statement “Aziz Milletimiz (Our Beloved Nation)” is a lie and boast. If they didn’t say “our beloved nation”, how would they deceive the nation, how would they pocket the state’s money! The easiest way to fool the nation in Turkey is to say “Our beloved nation” are their words. Turkey is full of mafia and gangs. Turkey has become a paradise of evil and fascism. Society was condemned to poverty in existence. Analyzing all these things carefully, one will better understand what the Kızıldere resistance aimed for and what kind of life they wanted to build.
The Revolutionary Youth of 1968 aspired to a democratic revolutionary system which could produce its own industry and economy, which was not indebted to the outside world, which was in no way dependent on the outside world, which served its own society, in which societies in brotherhood lived, which improved the level of prosperity of the society. The existence of such a system in Turkey was the anxious dream of the comprador bourgeoisie, ie the collaborating capital class. The March 12 fascist junta and September 12 fascist regime were created to suppress the developing revolutionary struggle.
In the fifty years that have passed, the resistance has not stopped, the struggle with the PKK has grown more and more, cornering the system. In Anatolia and Mesopotamia today there are hundreds of thousands of the Kızıldere resistances. Because Kızıldere was a spark, now it has turned into a fire. Ten great fighters grew into thousands, tens of thousands and millions. As Mahir Çayan said, this struggle will continue until liberation. The resistance of the Kızıldere is stronger now, in every corner of Anatolia and Mesopotamia. In fifty years, the resistance of the Kızıldere has grown a thousandfold.
The Kızıldere resistance mainly developed with the PKK and led to a great revolutionary development. Kızıldere was a spark and the breakthrough started by the great and immortal commander Mahsum Korkmaz (Agit) on August 15 turned the spark of Kızıldere into a fire. It was Rêber Apo who drew the best lessons from the Kızıldere resistance and developed the revolutionary measures in the best way and created an invincible revolutionary movement.
After the Kızıldere massacre, Rêber Apo realized that the revolutionary movement remained leaderless and was at the mercy of disintegration or weakness and took the necessary measures. Rêber Apo was arrested and imprisoned for seven months for his participation in the protest rallies against the Kızıldere massacre. During this time, he thought about what kind of organization he would start and how he would develop it further, saying: ” I have to start such an organization that it can survive and continue the struggle even after I’m gone.” .
In fact, Rêber Apo created an invincible organization and this organization is now respected and merged with the societies. Because when the Turkish Revolutionary Movement lost its leading cadres, the struggle was interrupted and the organization faced disintegration. That is why management training and leadership in the organization were important. In the revolutionary struggle, the strength and preservation of the leading force and structure of the leading cadres is of crucial importance for the continuation of the struggle and the future of the revolution.
There may be casualties on the path of battle under the natural conditions of hot battle. But with the growing Party organization, with the recognition of the Party, the problem of the cadres and the leadership, that is, the problem of the leadership of the organization, will be solved. As long as societies are fighting, the leaders will not stop, they will multiply more and more. Rêber Apo has built up a large organization. In other words, it would not be wrong to say that Rêber Apo is a leader who creates leaders. A leader is someone who can create leaders. Rêber Apo deserves to be the President of the Presidents.
Today Kurdistan and Turkey will witness the birth of a revolution and will experience a great change. The resistance spirit of Kızıldere makes the enemy spit blood in the mountains of Kurdistan. Even if some circles see the Kurdish freedom movement differently, the PKK is the true heir and implementer of the Kızıldere resistance. The PKK is not only rhetorically proud of the Kızıldere resistance, but has been fighting with great effort for years to achieve the goal of this resistance.
It comes down to meeting the requirements of the Kızıldere resistance in practical combat. Committing to the fight only rhetorically has no meaning and no meaning. In fascism, loyalty to the memory of the Şehîds means developing the struggle at the highest level and overthrowing the system of oppression. Commitment to the Şehîds means to continue the struggle for the political and social goals of the Şehîds without interruption and to realize the revolution. The Şehîds are kept alive in the revolutionary development. The freedom of societies is the existence and immortality of the Şehîds. The most logical and correct loyalty to the Şehîds is the realization of the revolution. There is no loyalty to the memory of the Şehîds with weeping, wailing, wailing, howling, traditional emotional aging within the system. The Şehîds gave their lives for the revolution. So there is no choice but to make the revolution a success. Şehîds live in revolution and in free life…
