The fire of Red Wednesday intensified the rebellion of women, life and freedom

NEWS CENTER – On the occasion of Red Wednesday, young people across Iran and Eastern Kurdistan once again took to the streets and protested against the authorities and emphasized the continuation of women’s rebellion, life and freedom.

The uprising against the murder of Jina Amini started on September 16 of last year and as a result, about 500 people were killed, thousands of people were injured and 4 protesters were executed. Tuesday night, which is the last Wednesday of the Kurdish year, is known as Red Wednesday in Iran and Eastern Kurdistan. Every year, people celebrate their holiday with fireworks and parties, but this year, that night turned into a rebellion against the government.

 

Despite the strict military measures, in all the cities of the provinces of Eastern Kurdistan, from Urmia to Ilam, young people shot and blocked the streets and raised slogans against the regime. With the celebration of Red Wednesday, in most provinces, especially in big cities such as Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, Shiraz, Ahwaz, Zahedan, etc., the ceremony turned into protests against the regime.

The youth burned the Islamic Republic with the slogans “No to the dictator, no to Khamenei, we swear by the blood of our comrades, we will not surrender until the end, no to the child-killing state.” In many cities, conflicts and clashes broke out between protesters and government forces, and as a result, a number of protesters were arrested and injured.

According to the previous call of the activists, it is decided to hold protests and demonstrations throughout the country today. The expansion of the Serhildan’s, in the 6 months since they started, while the authorities tried to end the protests with violence, arrests, torture and executions.
