QAMIŞLO – The University of Rojava Students’ Assembly issued a statement in support of students resisting in Iran and Rojhilatê Kurdistan, under the slogan ʹʹJin, Jiyan, Azadîʹʹ. The statement, made in the Rojava University building in Qamişlo, was read by Selwa Ebûd, the assembly’s speaker.
THE BLACK CLOTHES WERE TORN UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF YOUNG WOMEN
The statement said that the role of students resisting under the slogan “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” is important, and went on to say, “Especially the role of female students in the leadership is crucial. The people, led by the young women, are tearing up the black and constricting clothes that Iran’s oppressive regime has sewn around them. This scares the oppressive Iranian regime that wants to maintain its regime.”
Noting that Iran has been arresting, killing and executing in the name of protecting its regime for 44 years, the students said in the statement drawing attention to the poisoning of the students:“This is definitely not an accidental or common poisoning. It’s the Iranian regime. So far, students from 170 schools and universities have been attacked with chemical gases in the cities of Rojhilats such as Sine, Mehabad, Ilam, Kermanşah, Seqiz, Merîwan and Bokan, as well as in the Iranian cities of Tehran, Qom, Isfahan, Kerej and Shiraz. More than 7,000 students were poisoned. At least 4 of them lost their lives. Some of the poisoned students were university students, but most were secondary and preparatory school students.”
THE REGIME CANNOT PREVENT THE STORM OF FREEDOM
“The Iranian regime will not be able to stem the storm of change and freedom. This storm of freedom has its roots in the revolutionary youth movement of 1968 and is now spreading across the plains, mountains and cities of Kurdistan.”
Noting that Chairman Abdullah Öcalan’s philosophy of “Jin, Jiyan, Azadi” has now become the main slogan of the People’s Serhildan, the statement noted that with the Rojava Revolution and Rojhilat, the center of revolutionary youth is now the Middle East and the flag of leadership is in the hands of the Rojhilat and Iranian youth.
Continuing the statement, it was noted that Rojava University students will stand by the students in Rojhilat and Iran.
CALL FOR SUPPORT
The students of the University of Rojava addressed all students and revolutionary youth movements: “The heart of the liberation revolution now beats in Rojhilat and in Iran. Let’s create support networks together with Rojhilat Iranian youth and students. The systems of hegemony and dictatorship will be overthrown with revolutionary support”.
