BEHDÎNAN – In a written statement, the HPG press center announced the current attacks by the Turkish occupying state and the identity of the guerrilla fighter Delîl Çiyager, who died fighting for the freedom of Rêber APO and Kurdistan’s Şehîd.
The statement from the press center of the HPG states:
“The details of the attacks by the occupying Turkish army are as follows;
On March 21, the Girê Cûdî resistance area was bombed once by warplanes.
On March 21, the Girê Cûdî and Girê FM resistance areas, the Geliyê Lolan, Girê Şehîd Kamuran and Girê Şehîd Heqî areas in Xakûrkê and our resistance positions in Çemço and Sîda were bombed 103 times with howitzers, tanks, mortars and heavy weapons.
DELÎL ÇIYAGER REACHED MARTYRIUM
On November 23, 2022, our comrade Delîl Çiyager suffered martyrdom in an enemy attack in the Metîna area. Our comrades who defended themselves with the revolutionary movement Cenga Xabûrê against the invasion attacks of the occupying Turkish state to liquidate our society, in particular by occupying the Medya defense zones, dealt heavy blows to the enemy and thwarted their plans. Our comrade Delîl Çiyager, who took part in the resistance positions in the Metîna area where epic resistances took place, fulfilled his duties and responsibilities as an apoist fighter in this historical process with great seriousness and determination.
We express our condolences to the entire welatparêzen society of Kurdistan, especially to the esteemed family of our comrade Delîl Çiyager, who brought their brave son, whom they raised with a thousand hardships and hardships, to our society’s struggle for freedom.

Our comrade Delîl was born in Mêrdîn in a welatparêzen family and neighborhood. Due to his family’s migration to Europe for various reasons, our comrade Delîl had to grow up there. Comrade Delîl, who was an intelligent and diligent student in his school days, learned enough to speak three other languages in addition to Kurdish at a very good level. Our comrade Delîl, who worked outside of school to help his family economically, learned from an early age to take responsibility. The massacres that the genocidal Turkish state committed against the Kurds in its youth triggered great anger in our comrade Delîl, as in many Kurdish youth. He tried, to channel this anger into action and to fight against the genocide and the assimilation policy imposed on Kurdish society. Our comrade Delîl, who was actively involved in youth work during this period, played an active role in raising awareness among Kurdish youth and in youth-led actions. Comrade Delîl expressed his contradictions and feelings during this period as follows:“Life in Europe had become unbearable. Life was meaningless without joining the party. In fact, every moment of life meant death. Based on that, I decided to join the party.” This is how our comrade Delîl defined the modern life from which many are trying to flee and turned his face to Kurdistan as an honorable Kurdish youth.
In 2017, our comrade Delîl joined the guerrilla ranks with great enthusiasm and moved to the Medya Defense Zones to train as a new fighter. The feelings he experienced when he joined the guerrilla; Our comrade Delîl, who said “Beauty that cannot be described in words can only be understood by experiencing it”expressed, knew how to protect the feelings he experienced until the moment he reached martyrdom. Our comrade Delîl, who after his training as a new fighter moved to the area of Heftanin to do his first guerrilla practice there, adapted to the area and his comrades early on and participated in life with his worker personality and sense of responsibility all activities. He tried to get to know the ideology of Rêber APO better and to put it into practice. Our comrade Delîl, who participated in all activities in all areas where he stayed in Heftanin, earned the love and respect of his comrades with this quality. Our comrade Deil believed
Our comrade Delîl played an important role in resisting the colonialist, genocidal Turkish state’s occupying attacks on Heftanin. Our comrade, who played a role in many actions that dealt heavy blows to the enemy during the resistance, reached an important military level. Our comrade Delîl, who later moved to the Metîna area, passed on his experiences to his comrades. With his curiosity and willingness to learn, he learned new things by discussing with all his comrades in every field he went to and passed on what he knew to his comrades. He was one of our comrades who was at the forefront of the occupying Turkish state’s occupation operations in the Metîna region. With his experience in the military field and his ideological competence, he knew how to support his comrades during the operation and became a source of morale and motivation. In this process, he played an active role in many actions in which the attackers were dealt heavy blows.
