TOKYO – More than 2,000 people attended the Newroz celebration held in Akigase park near the capital. While HDP Co-Chair Mithat Sancar sent a message to the celebration attended by Kurds and his Japanese friends, PYD Co-Chair Salih Müslim joined by connecting online.
Newroz has not been celebrated for the last three years due to the Covid-19 outbreak. In the celebration attended by Kurds from four parts of Kurdistan, calls for unity and solidarity were made, especially after the 6 February earthquakes, to heal the wounds.
Coma Dengê Jinên Japanyê, composed of Japanese and Kurdish artists, took the stage at the celebration.
