“We have entered a new period of Newroz, which is the symbol of resistance and re-existence. First of all, we say Newroz is a piroz, and we celebrate the Newroz of all our peoples with the spirit of resistance and struggle. We are celebrating the 2023 Newroz of Leader Apo, who paved the way for us to struggle and to exist again by resisting, and who gave us the consciousness and will of this. We celebrate the Newroz holiday of the people of Kurdistan, who have continued the Newroz tradition by resisting oppression from history to the present and identified with Newroz. Newroz is the holiday of all oppressed peoples, women, youth and workers, as well as of peoples, it expresses their sense of freedom. In this respect, we celebrate the Newroz of women, youth, workers and all resisting social segments.
WE REPEAT OUR PROMISE OF VICTORY
Newroz is an attitude of resistance created by the oppressed against the oppressors by paying the price for freedom. This historical feature of Newroz has also been valid in the age we live in, and Newroz has been reunited with its true meaning and re-existed with Newroz, by paying a great price to re-exist and achieve freedom. Undoubtedly, it was the Kawas of our time who brought Newroz together with its meaning. Our great Newroz Martyr Çağdaş Kawa – Mazlum Doğan, who has become the Kawas of our age, revived the Newroz tradition and resurrected the people of Kurdistan with Newroz, and all the martyrs of revolution and democracy in the person of Zekiye, Rahşan, Ronahi, Bêrîvans, who are Newroz martyrs by walking in his line, with great respect, love and gratitude. commemorates them with gratitude, bowing respectfully to their struggles, We reiterate our promise of success and victory to our martyrs. There is no doubt that victory is possible by enlarging the struggle in the line of martyrs. Our movement has walked this path so far and has made great progress. From now on, our movement will continue to walk in the path of the martyrs without stopping until we achieve victory and realize the memory of the martyrs. Let no one doubt that.
RECREATING YOURSELF
Newroz has expressed the fact that the history and tradition of peoples’ resistance is reflected in mythology, epics and folk songs, and has survived to the present day by being celebrated as a holiday. We know very well that just as today, there have been cruel Dehaks in history, and the peoples who were oppressed under the oppression of the Dehaks, revolted under the leadership of the Blacksmith Kawas, and destroyed the castles of oppression and brought the peoples back into existence and set them free. Since Newroz put an end to persecution and added spirit and meaning to life, it was given a meaning as a new day. In this respect, the meaning of Newroz is hidden in its own name. This is to re-create oneself on the basis of freedom, spring and holiday. If the Newroz tradition has been persecuted for thousands of years in Kurdistan and the Middle East, cruel Dehaks have appeared and people have begun to be persecuted, the Blacksmith Kawas have also emerged against these oppressors and their oppression, and started a revolt against the oppression. The fires of rebellion spread in waves and the oppressors were defeated. The great resistance and struggle under the leadership of the modern Kawas against today’s Dehaks in the same ancient geography of Kurdistan and the Middle East proves this historical fact.
NEWROZ of 2023
2023 Newroz is the 50th anniversary of the great freedom march that Leader Apo started during the Newroz process. Because of this feature, 2023 Newroz has a special meaning for us. Leader Apo took the first organized step of the road to the Kurdistan revolution by holding a meeting with a group of friends at the Ankara-Çubuk dam fifty years ago. The great freedom march that has continued until today is the continuation of this step that Leader Apo took during the Newroz process fifty years ago. Leader Apo has constantly emphasized the importance of holding such a meeting on Newroz Day and asked us to understand it. Leader Apo acted with the idea that the Kurdish people, who were crushed under the claws of genocidal colonialism, whose country was torn apart from the very beginning, could only be resurrected with the spirit of Newroz, and built the Kurdistan Freedom Revolution on the basis of resistance. The people of Kurdistan have been able to exist by living according to the Newroz tradition throughout history and by resisting against oppressors and oppression. Leader Apo understood that the Kurdish people could only be saved from extinction with Newroz and the resistance tradition of Newroz, against the policies of denial and annihilation of today’s genocidal colonial order, which far exceeds the tyranny of the historical Dehaks, and acted accordingly. The Kurdistan Freedom Revolution was shaped according to these principles determined by Leader Apo. The Kurdish Freedom Movement’s undefeated, surviving against all attacks, resurrecting the Kurdish people who were thought to be exhausted and exhausted, making them fight for their freedom and realizing the resurrection revolution are the results of this feature. The people of Kurdistan have also re-formed their essence according to the principles of freedom and resistance determined by Leader Apo. In this respect, it has essentially restored the Kurdish people to their historical essence and identity. Because the genocidal colonial order has alienated the Kurdish people from their historical and social identity and alienated them from their essence. By creating the PKK and bringing the PKK together with the people, Leader Apo reunited the Kurdish people with their true essence and identity, namely Newroz. For this reason, Leader Apo defined the Kurdish people as the people of Newroz.
CASTLES OF OPPRESSION DESTROYED ONE BY ONE
Undoubtedly, Diyarbakır Dungeon is one of the greatest oppression fortresses in the history of humanity. Today’s cruel geniuses built the Diyarbakir Dungeon, one of the greatest oppression fortresses in human history, in order to extinguish the sparks of freedom lit by Leader Apo and to cast the people of Kurdistan into darkness forever. The revolutionaries of Kurdistan were strangled in this fortress of oppression, and the people of Kurdistan in their person were completely left breathless. Comrade Mazlum Doğan lit the fire of Newroz by lighting three matchsticks, and by making himself Newroz, he tore the darkness that was intended to cover the people of Kurdistan and became a true contemporary Kawa by illuminating the path to freedom. Zekiye, Rahşan, walking on the path illuminated by our Great Newroz Martyr Mazlum Doğan, Ronahi and Bêrîvans have illuminated the whole Kurdistan and the world by lighting their bodies with the fire of Newroz. The people of Kurdistan, following the bright path they burned with the bodies of the Newroz martyrs, demolished all the oppression fortresses one by one and re-created themselves.
NEWROZ IS A REVOLUTION AND RESISTANCE FOR THE PEOPLE OF KURDISTAN
The people of Kurdistan went down to the squares in thousands, turning the Newroz into a serhildan and succeeded in becoming a Newroz people again. Just as the fire lit by Blacksmith Kawa spread to all the mountains and plains of Kurdistan in history, the Newroz fire burned by the great Newroz Martyr Mazlum Doğan and raised with the bodies of Zekiye, Rahşan, Bêrîvan and Ronahi spread in Cizre, Nusaybin and from there all over Kurdistan. It turned into a huge popular revolt. Newroz has been a rebellion, resistance and serhildan for the people of Kurdistan. In this sense, Newroz is the death of the oppressors and the birth of the oppressed.
Newroz was welcomed as a day of resistance, re-existence and freedom not only for the people of Kurdistan, but also for all the peoples of Mesopotamia, the Caucasus, the Middle East and the World, and was celebrated as a holiday by all peoples. After all, Newroz is a tradition developed and created by peoples’ resistance against cruel Dehaks. Today, all peoples should join hands and take to the squares with the feelings of brotherhood and solidarity, celebrate Newroz with their own colours, languages, identities and emotions, ignite the Newroz fire and demonstrate their solidarity against the oppressors.
CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY ARE COMMITTED
Today, the fascist AKP-MHP government aims to extinguish the fire of freedom, which was ignited by Çağdaş Kawa Mazlum Doğan and his successors and recreated the people of Kurdistan, by carrying out the Kurdish genocide. With this aspect, today’s cruelty castle; The genocidal colonialist Turkish State, which wants to destroy the Kurdish people, and today’s oppressors are the AKP-MHP, which established and manages this persecution system. Genocidal colonial Turkish fascism; Occupying Bashure Kurdistan, eliminating the Rojava Revolution, attacking Shengal and Maxmur Camps, slaughtering the Kurds wherever they are, They want to carry out the Kurdish genocide by bombing the geography of Kurdistan every day and destroying its nature. There is no doubt that Tayyip Erdoğan, who is at the head of such an order of cruelty, is the cruel genius of today. Against this persecution order and cruel Dehakism of AKP-MHP fascism, the people of Kurdistan should take to the streets with millions and with the spirit of serhildan on this Newroz, as they have done so far, and show their strong reaction against today’s cruel Dehaks as they did in history. Our peoples, in four parts of Kurdistan and abroad, should take to the squares and celebrate Newroz wherever they are, and ignite the torch of resistance and freedom of Contemporary Kawa Mazlum Doğan against today’s cruel Geniuses. The people of Kurdistan should shout loudly the physical freedom of Leader Apo in 2023, the 50th Leader’s Newroz. must take a very strong stance against genocide and massacres. Newroz is the day when the reaction against the persecution is manifested in the strongest way. The people of Kurdistan should show this level of reaction against the AKP-MHP oppression everywhere in the Newroz of 2023.

As we have stated on every occasion, the fascist AKP-MHP government has an anti-Kurdish mentality. We brought it to the brink of destruction with our struggle as the people and the Movement against this anti-Kurdish fascist and genocidal mentality. It is time to completely overthrow this fascist government.
On Newroz, millions must ignite the torch of resistance against oppression and oppressors and destroy the fascist AKP-MHP government. With the earthquake, it has been revealed with all its nakedness that the AKP-MHP and the order established by it is an order of massacre, plunder and destruction.
