BEHDINAN – The KCK Executive Council Co-Presidency issued a written statement on the anniversary of the Gazi and Qamishlo massacres, commemorating those who were killed in the massacre and underlined their determination to fight against the massacre forces.
The co-chairmanship statement stated:
We are living the anniversary of the massacres carried out by the genocidal colonialist state forces in Istanbul Gazi neighborhood on March 12, 1995, and in Qamishlo in 2004. We commemorate all martyrs of revolution and democracy with respect and gratitude in the person of those who lost their lives in both massacres, and we once again express our commitment to the martyrs.
The genocidal colonialist Turkish state has resorted to massacre policies throughout history in order to suppress the freedom struggle of the peoples and the oppressed and to maintain the genocidal order. The Gazi Massacre is one of them. The fact that this massacre was carried out in the Gazi neighborhood and on such a date is related to the developing freedom struggle. In the 1990s, with the developing struggle of the Kurdish people, the will of the Alevis, the struggle of the revolutionary, democratic and socialist movement of Turkey to meet and fight together on the basis of the principles of democracy and freedom against the genocidal colonialist system emerged. Understanding that with the realization of this, a democratic process will develop in Turkey, the Turkish state, The massacre started by paramilitary forces in the Gazi district, where the Kurdish and Alevi population is densely populated and where the revolutionary democratic consciousness and level of organization is high, continued with the direct and open attacks of the police and soldiers in the following days, and dozens of people lost their lives. This massacre is a continuation of the Alevi massacres and genocide that took place in Çorum, Sivas and many other places. It is also a continuation of the Kurdish genocide, and the main purpose of this massacre is to prevent Kurds, Alevis, left, socialist, democratic sections and other oppressed people in Turkey from joining forces and coming together in a common struggle. It is a continuation of the Alevi massacres and genocide that took place in Sivas and many other places. It is also a continuation of the Kurdish genocide, and the main purpose of this massacre is to prevent Kurds, Alevis, left, socialist, democratic sections and other oppressed people in Turkey from joining forces and coming together in a common struggle.
WE ARE BASED ON ASKING HISTORICAL ACCOUNT FROM THE MASSACRE
With the Gazi Massacre, it was aimed to suppress the freedom struggle of the peoples by intimidating and intimidating the society. Today, however, the joint struggle developed by Kurds, Alevis, women, and Turkish socialist and democratic forces against AKP-MHP fascism has prevented this massacre from reaching its goal and thwarted the plans of fascism. This attitude developed by the peoples and democratic forces is very important and plays a historical role. This attitude will be developed further and all massacres will be accounted for with the overthrow of the fascist AKP-MHP government, which represents the murderous mentality today. As the Kurdish Freedom Movement, we act with this awareness and responsibility, and base on holding the massacres and massacres to account historically by further developing the common struggle of the peoples and all the oppressed, and bringing them to victory.
On March 12, 2004, a massacre was committed against Kurds by the Syrian Baathist regime in Qamishlo. The Qamishlo Massacre, as in other Kurdish massacres, was carried out with an anti-Kurdish mentality and it was aimed to suppress the freedom struggle of the Kurdish people and to maintain the order based on Kurdish denial. The Kurdistan freedom struggle has had an understanding that defends the freedom and equality of peoples from the very beginning. This approach gained a new meaning with the understanding of democratic nation, developed by Leader Apo by completely overcoming the nation-statist and nationalist mentality, and gained a quality that brings solutions to the problems of democracy and freedom of the peoples of the Middle East. Status quo powers with genocidal, colonial, oppressive and authoritarian mentality made an effort to prevent such a development. Because the status quo powers with a nation-state mentality are closed to all kinds of democratic transformations and do not want the oppressive and authoritarian order to change. With this massacre organized in Qamishlo, it was aimed to prevent such a development by inciting the feelings of Kurdish hostility and nationalism.
ROJAVA REVOLUTION FULFILLING THE OBJECTIVES OF THE QAMISHLO MASSACRE
Undoubtedly, the Rojava Revolution and the democratic autonomy system formed by the peoples of Northern and Eastern Syria after the Qamishlo Massacre have failed this goal. With the Qamishlo Massacre, it was aimed to maintain the status quo, oppressive and authoritarian nation-state order and to prevent the development of the democratic struggle of the peoples by making peoples torn against each other, while the Rojava Revolution reversed this, and the Kurds, Arabs, Armenians, Assyrian-Assyrians, Turkmens and other Northern and Eastern Syrian peoples. realized the construction of a common life together with the understanding of a democratic nation. The deepening of this, the building of a democratic life by all Syrian peoples with this understanding, and the development of the democratic Syrian revolution on this basis and making it permanent is the best way to hold accountable for all the massacres that took place, especially the Qamishlo Massacre.
As the Kurdish freedom movement, we once again commemorate those who lost their lives in the Gazi and Qamishlo massacres, and condemn these massacres with great grudge and hatred. All the peoples of the Middle East, especially the peoples of Kurdistan, Syria and Turkey, will call for the greatest accountability for the massacres by strengthening their unity with the understanding of a democratic nation, strategic alliance and common struggle. During the earthquake that took place in Kurdistan, Turkey and Syria, it was very important for the peoples to cooperate, cooperate and embrace their benefits together. The peoples have shown a very important and meaningful solidarity to date. This solidarity and cooperation should be further strengthened and continued until the wounds are completely healed.
