NEWS CENTER – YPS-YPS JIN Coordination commemorated Martyr Çiyager Hêvî, the immortal commander of Sur, who fought against the invading Turkish state in Sur for 105 days during the Self-Government Resistance.
“I will go to Amed for the freedom of the leader”
“Martyr Çiyager Hêvî, born in Batman in 1982, took his place in the guerrilla ranks in 2004 after actively participating in youth work. Martyr Çiyager’s proposal to fight in Bakur Kurdistan was approved for Amed in 2011. When he appeared before the camera as a passenger, he said, “We want to realize the freedom of the Leader physically. I have absolute faith in this. I am going to Amed with this belief and fighting spirit. I will go to Amed for the freedom of the Leader, and I will participate accordingly. Another is my devotion to martyred friends. My greatest effort will be to be worthy of martyred friends. It is to continue from this point where they brought everything they fought for and to be their successor. We will fulfill the requirements of this in the areas we go to. With this claim, I am going to Amed.” he had spoken.
Concentration of leadership in the Revolutionary People’s War
In his reports he wrote in Amed, “I emphasize that I will approach the process with the mentality of a revolutionary people’s war with a fully dedicated participation. In one aspect, sacrifice is being able to make the strongest exit in the most difficult processes. I want to unleash my own strength in the face of the process. With this aspect, I would like to give a practical self-criticism of my inability to unleash the power that I needed to reveal in my past, that is, my failure to fulfill my own responsibility and my inability to be a sufficient comrade to the Leader. I also state that I can be ready for any task by throwing aside all the ‘I’s that I have in myself and focusing completely on my goal.” He put forward the concentration of leadership in the Revolutionary People’s War.
When the day comes to take the first steps of the process on the basis of the Revolutionary People’s War in the cities with the aim of preserving its existence and gaining its freedom; He set out without hesitation and with great enthusiasm. Martyr Çiyager and a group of his comrades descended from the mountains to the city centers to lead the civil defense forces in self-government resistance and to defend the people.
They challenged NATO’s second largest army
This resistance started in Sur district of Amed in the last months of 2015 and continued until March 2016. The 105 days of this resistance were brutal. They challenged NATO’s second largest army together with valiant Kurdish youth who are actively involved in self-defense. Opposite them were the invading colonial Turkish state forces, who used all state facilities with their planes, tanks, cannons, soldiers and guards in the city center in a fascist manner. On the other hand, the self-government resisters; They had a commander like Martyr Çiyager, with individual weapons and big hearts in their hands. In order to do justice to this heavy responsibility, he was always in search and effort of ‘how can it be better’.
Martyr Çiyager became the practitioner of his words and claims with his participation, sensitivities, morale, and being locked in success. Both the armed Kurdish youth and the people of Sur; They witnessed the militancy of the sacrifice, the heroism of the people. They witnessed the warrior personality and vital leadership of those who devoted their lives to the path of freedom. And history once again wrote down the virtue, beauty and honorable stance of those who fought believing in the “splendid end” in the 21st century. He wrote about how much willpower to be armed with the anger of Çiyager against occupation, colonialism and fascism, and to strike like Çiyager, reveals.
We see it as an honor to follow Martyr Çiyager’s stance of militancy, comradeship and command, and as a duty to carry his claims and dreams to victory.
In the person of Martyr Çiyager, who was martyred on March 12, 2016, and all Sur self-government resistance martyrs, we commemorate our martyrs of self-government in other fields with respect, love and gratitude, and we reiterate our promise to enlarge our freedom struggle and carry it to victory.”
