BEHDİNAN – PAJK Coordination Member Ayten Dersim, who started her speech with the wish of a happy Newroz 2023 to all Kurdistan people, women, youth and humanity, especially Leader Apo, also commemorated all Newroz martyrs, especially Mazlum Doğan and Zekiye Alkan.
Expressing that the people in Southwest Kurdistan and Hatay entered the year 2023 with great pain, Dersim expressed his condolences to those who lost their relatives and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Expressing that the results of the earthquake once again showed the state tradition’s intention to abolish society and to depopulate these regions, Dersim said, “Our people should know this. The state has never been the savior of these peoples, it has never been a helper, and it cannot be.”
Expressing that peoples can only come to light by helping each other and bandaging their wounds and pain together, Dersim said that it is the people, women, who go to the region, run for help and share their pain.
Greeting the women’s resistance and actions on March 8, Dersim stated that this resistance will be crowned in Newroz. Emphasizing that the society can overcome its pains by gaining a strong resistance and reaching a strong organization, Dersim said, “In this sense, Newroz should be able to celebrate its own holiday by being close to its own meaning, equivalent to its own spirit, equal to its essence, by getting together around peoples.”
Expressing that the Turkish state will try to use all kinds of deception in order to gain its own power in the elections and try to ignore the will of the peoples, Dersim said, “We must be able to show that the AKP-MHP fascism is now a scourge on the peoples. In order to get rid of this scourge, resistance must be embraced,” he said.
Emphasizing that the freedom movement and the people came to this day with resistance, Dersim also stated that they aim for the physical freedom of Leader Apo in 2023, saying, “Continuing this tradition of resistance is our most basic philosophy of life.”
