TURIN – An event on the effects of the earthquake was held yesterday in the Italian city of Turin. The event was organized by the Defend Kurdistan Torino coordination, made up of various organizations in the city, especially students and university collectives.
The event took place at the central campus of the University of Turin. About 50 students from the University of Turin attended the event. Journalist Murat Çinar and the person in charge of Heyva Sor in Turin attended the event and explained the impact of the earthquake, the Turkish government’s response and the inefficiency of the government’s response and why.
The help provided by Heyva Sor was also explained and the difficulties caused by state repression were pointed out. A dinner was organized after the event, the proceeds of which were donated to the Kurdish aid organization Heyva Sor for the earthquake victims.
