BEHDINAN – YJA Star guerrillas Zîlan Kobanê, Tara Mako, Arîn Merwan Agirî Kobanê and Beritan Amed spoke to ANF agency about the February 15 plot against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan and the guerrilla resistance in Medya Defense Zones.
‘FREE OPINION AND WILL WAS TARGET OF THE CONSPIRACY’
Condemning the February 15 plot against Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan, Zîlan Kobanê said, “We call the February 15 plot a black day. As the Kurdish Freedom Movement and the Kurdish people, February 15 is a painful day for us. Because on February 15, an international conspiracy against the Leader was carried out and the Leadership was taken prisoner. With the conspiracy carried out by international forces, free will, ideas, the unity of peoples and the freedom of the Kurdish people were targeted. Because the Leadership was their representation. International powers did not accept this and plotted against the Leader. Offering an alternative to the ruling mentality, the Leadership insisted on free will to end this war and was taken prisoner. For this reason, February 15 is a painful day for the Kurdish people.
Even if the enemy has taken our Leader prisoner, the Leader continues his struggle with free will and opinion, and thwarts all the attacks of the conspiracy and the enemy. As YJA Star guerrillas, we will thwart the conspiracy with our will, free will and struggle. With our struggle, we will also prevent the attacks of the enemy against our people and our movement. The aim of the enemy is to destroy the people and women. Because women rebelled against the state, they rebelled against the patriarchal mentality. For this reason, the main target of the enemy is to destroy the woman, her identity, will and existence. Besides, it wants to eliminate the identity of the Kurdish people. The main goal of the leadership is women’s gaining their identity, their liberation, will and the liberation of the Kurdish people. For this reason, the enemy carried out such a conspiracy.
The Kurdish people and youth should not bow down to the enemy, they should rebel. Now is the time to ensure the physical freedom of the Leader, and the struggle for this must be increased. The actions of the enemy who says ‘I will destroy the Kurdish people’ should not be left behind and years of revenge should be taken. As YJA Star guerrillas, I condemn the February 15 plot and state that we will ensure the physical freedom of our Leader.”
‘NO LEADER DEFENDED AND DEVELOPED WOMEN LIKE RÊBER APO’
YJA-Star Tara Mako said: “When we look at history, no leader has defended or developed women and the Kurdish people like Leader Apo. If the Kurdish youth and women today follow the truth and recognize and embrace Kurdish culture, it is thanks to Leader Apo’s efforts. February 15 is a heavy day for women. We must live with Leader Apo’s philosophy 24 hours a day, not just on February 15. Our hatred and anger towards the enemy is increasing day by day. We will never let Leader Apo’s work go to waste. We will thwart the February 15 plot with our struggle and make this year the year of victory.
We do not say that we will strengthen Leader Apo’s hand with the struggle to be waged in 2023. With our assertion and determination to fight, 2023 will be the year when Leader Apo’s physical freedom will be achieved. We insist on this claim and struggle until the last drop of our blood. A self-sacrificing stance came to the fore, especially in Avaşîn, during the war in the Medya Defense Zones. The source of this sacrifice spirit comes from Leader Apo’s philosophy.
The morality and culture created by Leader Apo in the Kurdish Freedom Struggle are decisive. This stance, determination and self-sacrifice developed with the efforts of Leader Apo. We will respond to the process with the great determination of the guerrilla, whose breasts are shielded against the banned bombs, in the spirit of the comrades of the fighters. With the experience we have gained with the philosophy and ideology of the leadership, we take care of each other in the free mountains. With Leader Apo’s philosophy, we will defeat betrayal and the enemy. There has been a serious war waged for months in the Medya Defense Zones. As guerrillas, we are in a great resistance against this war and this resistance will continue until the end. We will continue our struggle at the highest level within the framework of the promise we made to our Leader until the last drop of our blood.”
‘PHYSICAL LIBERTY WILL BE PROVIDED THROUGH THE INTEGRITY OF THE PEOPLE AND THE GUERILLA’
YJA-Star Guerrilla Arîn Merwan said, “Before making my assessments regarding the February 15 international conspiracy, I commemorate the martyrs of the revolution with respect and gratitude. We continue our struggle over the legacy left by our martyrs as a gift. The February 15 conspiracy was not carried out only against Leader Apo. This conspiracy was carried out against both the Kurdish people and the Kurdish Freedom Movement. The unity of the people and the guerrilla in such an environment of struggle will be instrumental in ensuring the physical freedom of Leader Apo. All our will and actions will nullify this conspiracy, and we will liberate our Leader physically.
We are in a struggle to take stronger actions by improving ourselves in terms of our leadership’s ideology and thought. The action of comrades Sara and Rûken shook the enemy. It draws strength from these actions, and our will becomes stronger. For this reason, we will ensure the physical freedom of the Leader if our claim is put together. The struggle of the people and the guerrilla is a whole, we must strengthen this struggle even more so that we can nullify the enemy. The enemy wants to destroy us. Our day is always bright, the enemy cannot darken our day. A vigorous struggle must be waged for this.
Our dream is to ensure the physical freedom of Leader Apo and to live together in free days”, noting that they, as YJA Star, are waging a great struggle in the mountains to nullify the enemy, and concluded his speech as follows: “Leader Apo thwarted the conspiracy with his struggle in Imrali. The leadership is currently in absolute isolation, but its resistance continues, insisting on the freedom of its people and peoples by standing on its own feet and struggling. He refused to meet with the CPT. Because he is aware of the tactics of the enemy. Leader Apo made great efforts for the people and for us. For this, the physical freedom of Leader Apo must be ensured. Physical freedom is ensured by the unity and solidarity of the peoples.”
‘AS GUERRILLAS WE WILL RESIST UNTIL THE END’
YJA-Star Guerrila Agirî Kobanê said, “Rêber Apo has never bowed to the fascist Turkish state. He has always maintained his resistance. As guerrillas, we will resist until the end. Because our Leader fully believes in the guerrilla. We believe that we will create a free life in Kurdistan together with our people.
A very fierce war is going on in Kurdistan right now. There is an attack on Kurdistan, especially Avasin, Zap, Metina. In the war tunnels, our comrades are fighting against the fascist Turkish army until their last breath. We can either be martyrs or veterans, but we will not give up our cause and fight until our goal is a great victory.
Our comrades are showing an incredible resistance against chemical gases and all kinds of attacks in the war tunnels, hungry, thirsty and sleepless. The fascist Turkish army is fighting the guerrillas in the mountains of Kurdistan, not with its will, but with the highest war techniques of NATO. We will continue to fight for the freedom of our people, regardless of the price, with the strength and faith we derive from the martyrs, our people and our Leader. As YJA Star guerrillas, we promise to end the conspiracy against the Kurdish people in the person of our Leader.”
‘THE FREEDOM OF THE LEADERSHIP IS THE FREEDOM OF THE OPPRESSED PEOPLE’
YJA Star guerrilla Beritan Amed, said “Rêber Apo is our aim to fight, live and war”, stated the following regarding the International Conspiracy: “Our Leader’s philosophy is the philosophy of free life. The aim of the conspiracy is the enslavement of peoples and women, that’s why they captured our Leader in 1999. Movements recognizing this philosophy have developed in Europe and many different parts of the world, especially in the Middle East.
All women and peoples of the world united with the slogan of ‘Jin Jiyan Azadi’. The rebellion that took place in Rojhilat and Iran started against the hegemonic powers with the slogan ‘Jin Jiyan Azadi’. Our Leader’s philosophy of free life has become universal. Everyone understood this, the freedom of the Leader, the freedom of Kurdistan, the freedom of Kurdistan means the freedom of the Middle East and the oppressed peoples. We will not give up on our cause until the physical freedom of these mountains, this country, our leadership, is achieved.”
